Pixellation is an all too challenging art, and is always taken to the next level on these forums. The content and movement implied make this a good signature. I don't like numer ratings though. Exactly, and other thing that's lacking is the fun factor. You guys remeber the sig he made about a mage reading the instructions for ancient magics? That one was great. Had a good cartoony style, fun, lot of action on background. Though; I dont like the helmet, it looks to 'open', I think you should make the helmet a bit more 'closed'. Otherwise the rest is good, but you should make the backround a bit more living, The window to the right.. maybe you should make like a lightnig just striking down so it lights up from the window, or something like that, Or just torches maybe? Original buyer (top bid at 6m) was in debt (owes like 14 whips to friend :lol:, gonna buy a new sig when he's out of debt) so I sold the sig to Nub for 3m. :) The sig itself is already a few months old so as long as someone is using it it's all good. Adding more stuff in BG would have been confusing and desorienting, not to mention in RS the building is pretty empty, but torches would have been a nice addition. Your mother, I see what you mean, will fix that next time, lightning idea is cool. 8) Thanks to Sledge for the cabbage green color blood idea. And some of them who say it are resentful over the fact that they have a more detailed pixel style but make less per sig. Frankly, it is a matter of first to market. Xman branded himself before the others got there. Just the way it is. Now there are two ways to look at his style. 1. he is lazy, not growing because people buy them anyway. 2. he is giving the people what they want--his characteristic style. Both are probably right. He has said over and over that pixeling to him is a MONEY MAKER and he doesn't consider them to be art as such. So why stress over it. He doesn't have to do anything new if he doesn't want to. The buyer is happy, he makes his money AND he doesn't have to spend needless extra hours doing manual AA, tons of shading etc. And when you have a backlog of buyers a mile long, that is not small consideration. People want an x man sig that is decent quality QUICKLY. They don't want to wait extra weeks while he adds shading to everyone in front of them. I don't blame him one bit. Sigmakers love to see the detailed work. Buyers just want their character portrayed the way they think of them. And if he can do that, he is doing what is best for him and his buyer. I was recently reading on concept art a post from the pros talking about their work environment. They live around deadlines. Often times they can't do the perfect piece for a client because the client would rather have close to perfect NOW rather than perfect later. So they do their real art for themselves on their own time. I see this being similar. I would say there are some pixel artists right now who do some "better" work on the shading end, no doubt.
