Anyone tried out the new mini-game, Camping Armies?

I only played MA like.. 4 times.. but when everyone camped I used a light squad to lure one team into another and then used a distractor so they would stop chasing my squad after I dropped them off. I won 2 of my games that way.. while in the other two they just moved it back after I attacked them ;[

People are forgetting that this is only the conflict game. It is the free for all, no hold barred, no strategy game. If you view the tutorials for the other 3, they have much more strategy in them.

I understand your point, I have always fought and fought others, I tried to make my squads the best possible and what do I get? I fight with someone else, I win with 3 squads left, and I get 20 squads from the other players on me and die.

What do I do now?

I dd at a special terrain and wait for them to come, if they come to me i'll fight, no problem but i'm not fighting first anymore because all I get is pjed.

It's pj or get pjed, and i'd rather pj then.

After all, it's also a tactic, letting others fight then give the final blow to the winner and take the trophy.

ooh eeh ooh ahah, ting tang wallawallabingbang m8

Hilarious. And yes it is a legit strategy; this is assuming that they come to you. and surround you and your precious terrain, and DON'T try to lure you out. If they DO lure you out, on the other hand... HAHA YOU N00B.

Balance may be power, but chaos is still pretty damn fun.

Canada can't be second rate, polar bears are their main mode of transportation.

There is always a way. For example, you know how they retaliate right? Well get 1 light squad to attack them once and quickly retreat to the rest of your army. You are in effect "luring" one squad to your mass. Then you just pile the squad and it's a goner. The light squad probably won't take much damage, since it can easily outrun all heavy squads. If what you're luring is a light squad, then it'll just get decimated by the pile.

I have people doing that to me before I even get my formation set up. To teach them a lesson if they come near my I bomb the [cabbage] out of them. They don't try to lure my anymore. ::'

Bomb a single unit? Seems kinda like a waste too me, so you're still losing.

That's my strategy some of the time: the first unit I see coming near me that isn't exploring gets 5 gnome gliders dropped on them, then I don't get distrubed for a while ::' .

When I play, not really anymore, kinda got bored with just conflict though. I don't bomb them with all five. If I carry gnome gliders into the battle usually one gets them to retreat. After that if they try it again I repeat. If I don't have gliders when they get close enough to the unit they're weak against i'll attack and then draw back when they get past the cut off for my formation.

I love the combat triangle here... it's so much fun. Less amusing when I have one dwarf and two elves and the other team has two goblins and a dwarf. Of course, I had forgotten about my kamikazes until then... Byebye extra goblin squad! \' Byebye dwarf squad! DIE, REMAINING GOBLIN SQUAD! yaaay I won!

5 Heavy Elfs and 5 Heavy Dwarfs seem to do well against everything I go against :) , but I may add a few light dwarfs to lure campers out (I'll start playing again when the patch comes out...).

Dwarves to goblins, elves to elves. Dwarves win, and then they help defeat your elves.

You're better off not having 3 races. 2 is much stronger. Having all 3 just makes your team weak.

I'd love to see some things change with an update. Like the two combat triangles working with each other and you range to choose range, mage, and melee when picking your units. Maybe even give certain classes bonuses in some styles. Like give goblins stronger melee but weaker range, elfs stronger mage but weaker melee, dwarfs stronger range but weaker mage. (Actually hasn't in been said before that dwarfs actually can't use magic? Maybe swap the dwarf unit in for a gnome unit if used on mage and give it same strength against goblins but weakness against elf). The last thing I can think of is make there be a minimum that you at least have to have two units of every race, one having to be light and one having to be heavy. I've noticed everyone just spams heavy most of the time and usually if you don't do the same you can't win.

That's the reason why Jagex put the Chinchompa in there, it affects anyone near it - use a few of those and most of them will die

Yeah. I was hoping we'd have more than 6 types of units. I could do with 20+. Nothing less.

*EDIT* oh, and some different maps too.
