July 10, 200917 yr You can but why? Use the whip =) Yup the GS is only useful to me when your maxed out or can afford it, they aren't really even worth it when pking. The whip is best for attack and defense and the ss is best for str if you don't want to use the d scimmy.

The only reason they're useful is the specs - to be honest, a whip and defender or obby shield is by far a better option. I used an SGS for a short while yesterday on attack and the attack rate is much slower than a whip (i thought) and i kept getting owned by my slayer assignments. Unless you have Bandos/Barrows armour for defence bonus, i'd stick with the whip.

A rune kite?... A god book?... The defender is the best shield slot weapon in the game... Not only does it give a huge boost on attack, it also improve strength. Its really easy to get... Just kill stuff, then more stuff, then be patient.

July 10, 200917 yr I would recommend it. Slash bonus, especially when using whip. 12h is high now because I did it when EVERYONE was trying to get the defender. I remember everyone using black knives to pull aggro on the cyclopses.

July 11, 200917 yr A rune defender adds almost a quarter of the whip's slash bonus. It's strength bonus is just the cherry on top. Something to fill my sig with until I find a replacement.Also check out my blug
July 11, 200917 yr Author Maybe so but its pure effort to get 1. The str bonus doesn't mean a thing to me, seriously it could be +1 or +100 It wouldn't make it any more desirable to me. July 11, 200917 yr Use defender and whip, seriously. Whip+DFS or GS's are only good at killing high level monsters and certain things etc. For training the rune defenders attack bonuses are great, and added with the whip its awesome. Get a full set or 2 of mithril or black armour (excluding sheild) and head down to Warriors guild. Use it on the magical animator a few times until you have a few hundred tokens (seriously, it wont take long) then run up to the top floor. Go into the room and slay some cyclopses. Once you get a defender come out, and go back in again and progress until you get rune. You loose 10 tokens a minute i think, so it should only take a few hours max to get rune. July 11, 200917 yr god sword is good for high deffence monsters only so yes whip + rune and as for whip + obby just use dfs instead of obby but i perfer deffender for the major attack bouns plus it gives a bit of defence 99 defence reached 7/7/09 99 strength reached 12/28/08 barrow drop since 7/7/09 ahrims top(1), guthan spear(1), dharok legs(1), verac helm(1)

July 11, 200917 yr Rune defender and whip consistantly rapes the godsword. Really, I've had to say this at least 1000 times already.... DEFENDER REALLY IS THAT BIG A DEAL.
