Help!! My appeal

First of all, were you actually hacked or are you just using it as an excuse? They WILL know if you were, as they can access the IP logs.. and they will know how often you change your passwords, and recovery questions, and if you did so on the date. It would be a very good idea to provide the exact date you were hacked so they can look at all the logs of your account at that time.

Im sorry for any inconvenience this offense may have caused you. ***REMOVE THIS - sounds incredibly cheesey. It's not causing them any inconvenience. Maybe replace it with something like - First, I apologize for the actions that were taken by my account which resulted in it being muted***. However, I feel I have been wrongly accused ***It's really not a good idea to word it this way. You're implying that they made a mistake for muting you in the first place, when indirectly it was your fault (for not keeping your account secure).***. The truth is ***Remove this phrase; it sounds silly - of course you're going to be telling the truth. Redundant. It also gives me the notion, as the reader, that you are preparing to lie your guts off*** On the day of the offence I did not have access to my account because it was hacked and I did not get it back until 3 days later. I believe the hacker has caused this offence to occur and as a result I am permanently muted. I take responsibility for being hacked, but I do not feel I should be punished for the offenses committed by the hacker. Im sorry once again for the trouble I may have caused. To ensure that this never happens again, I change my recovery question and password regularly (every other month). Thank you for your time and consideration. I'm sure you will see the truth and understand that I am not at fault for this offense.

Again, add in some evidence to SHOW that you were actually hacked. If I were reading that as a Jmod, there's no way I'd side with you and that perm mute would stay.

The IP address of the computers you normally use and the computer you last successfully logged onto (not the hacker, YOU), would help them.

yea there is going to be a problem with that as i change my ip from time to time

Best not tell them your IPs then.

Since you change your IPs, telling them a whole bunch proves nothing, since the hacker's IP could just be one of yours, except changed. Unless you can give the same IP before and after the hack. Even then though...

yea and im 100% sure the hacker is changing is ip as well because when i tracked it down it came out to be from my neighours house and im sure he changed it because my neighbours r old folks they have no kids living there so i doubt they play rs

That's silly.. You can't exactly track an IP to an address. If you 'tracked' it somehow, and it turned out to be from your neighbors house - either a) it's someone from your household, or B) you're tracking the wrong IP... as it's most likely yours.

And if it's a dynamic IP, you will never be able to track it. It was probably yours as you are on a dynamic IP too..

if you wanna track an ip its simple, go on google ip adress put in the ip and it shows you the address, and no its not from my household, infact i used a program to verify the ip, and i know he switched his/her ip

P.S. im actually scared of appealing, what if they lock my account can i get it unlocked or is it like a prem ban?? :wall: :wall: :wall:

Lock = banned but you didn't use your appeal yet.

Banned = Ban with no appeals left.

You have nothing to use by appealing. I've never heard nor experienced getting banned on the appeal alone. It can't hurt you. That's why it's there.

Yeah.. the address it'll show you is of your internet provider. I doubt it'll take you straight to a house unless you're your own internet provider (which no one really does these days).

You can't get banned or have your account for making an appeal. You have nothing to lose.

1) I don't know my IP

2) I don't want my address posted online on an internet forum (which I think would be against the rules here anyways).

3) Can't say I care much anyways

4) Shouldn't you be focusing on more important things - i.e. getting your appeal written up? ;)

Well you have nothing to lose. If you wanna post your final draft to get some more ideas (it won't hurt to improve it), that'd probably be a good idea.

First, I apologize for the actions that were taken by my account which resulted in it being muted. On the day of the offence I did not have access to my account because it was hacked and I did not get it back until 3 days later. I believe the hacker has caused this offence to occur and as a result I am permanently muted. The hacker also took my full dragon armour, dragon scimitar, legends cape, glory amulet.

First, I apologize for the actions that were taken by my account which resulted in it being muted. Awkward phrasing. On the day of the offence I did not have access to my account because it was hacked and I did not get it back until 3 days later. Awkward phrasing. Try changing it to: On the day the offence took place I was not in control of my account. I later found it to be in the possession of another user; my account was stolen. I believe [this user; eliminate 'has.'] [broke rules and regulations which resulted in a permanent muting]. The [user] also took [several items within my account of significant monetary value]. I take responsibility for [these action; eliminate the comma] but I do not feel I should be punished for the offences [i have been charged with]. [i am; do not use conjunctions] sorry [eliminate 'once again'] for the trouble [this may] have caused. To ensure that this [does not] happen again, I [have] changed my recovery questions and [my] password, [i will continue to do so] regularly. Thank you for your time and consideration. [i am] sure you will see the truth and understand that I am not at fault for this [changed to 'offence' for consistency].

Don't take responsibility for it, you didn't do it.
He should. Taking responsibility shows maturity and he was clearly at fault for losing the account.

You do know that JAGEX knows that 99% of the people who have been 'hacked' were either charcater sharing or attempting to use a program that is most likely against the rules of RS.

It's very rarely a case where the 'hacked' has been directly innocent.

Made up stats help no-one.

Its infinitely easy to get a keylogger or like wise without ever coming close to breaking a rule and thus get hacked

kk here is the thing when i go for appeal it gives me 2 options:

1. Someone else had access to my account

2. I think Customer Support have made a mistake

there is no option which i can use to take responsibility :wall:

Do not list any items. I am unsure about what option to take. I believe that if you say that your account was stolen, you'll simply get an automated message giving your denial. Saying that there has been a mistake may increase your chances of getting a real person to read your appeal or increase your chances of an automated approval.

I would go with the first option, as they may check for IP differences.

Ya, listing items would be pointless anyway. I'm pretty sure they don't give items that you lost in a hack back, not 100% sure, they didn't give mine back.
