I assume it's just if you want to get rid of your name, then you type in something that's not already taken and just choose that one? But then perhaps you could have a friend take your old name. One of the greatest books ever written btw, and if you don't think so you haven't looked deep enough. Did over 500 hours of research and essays on this book last year for school. On one hand I would want to make my name more original and number free but then on the other hand I've been with my current username for so long I don't think I'd ever want to change it. I feel like it's a part of my character and it just wouldn't be the same without the username I have right now. I almost hope Jagex charges money to change your username because then I wouldn't have any trouble deciding, I'd just keep my original account name. I'm assuming that it would work like creating a name on a new account; any name that isn't taken can replace your old username. However there would have to be a limit on how many times you could change your username otherwise no one would know who was who.
