What do you do? Borrowers who can't wield.

Seems ironic that I found this thread.

Lent out tassets only to find the person had 60 def instead of 65. 150k for 5 hours of nothing is what they spent.

My opinion on this is if they pay for it then its thier problem. I held up my end of the deal and if they cant use it then too bad. :shame:

It's buyer or in this case borrower beware. If they are dumb enough to pay money for a lent item they can't wield simply because they didn't look in the large and detailed in game guides then they deserve to lose a few gp.

I honestly remember back when the Attack guide only showed bronze through dragon daggers as level requirements.

+1, most of the things (Or at least weapons) people borrow are usually for boss hunting, and if you aren't intelligent enough to look up the weapon you are using I don't think you will do that well with it anyways. And if you don't know a whip takes 70 attack to wield, well then you deserve a big 'ol piece of shattered dream pie.

I normally don't lend to people I don't know, but if I did and i charged they wouldn't get the money back. I looked up what was needed when I bought the item, they should do the same when they are wanting to use it. I did my part and lent them what they wanted. It's not my fault if they can't use it, they still have it.

I only ever lend things to my friends really, and when I lend to random people its usually for free.

I guess in that situation I'd just give them their money back,

Theres a fine line between not listening and not caring,

I like to think I walk this line every day.

Pinning blame on Jagex is like trying to put pants on an old man.

You both know he needs them, but he'll just keep dancing around, avoiding them at all costs.

i only lend items when i'm about to leave to go somewhere for a while. And if they can't wield it, all they will see is me log out.

If i knew the person (i only talk to rl friends on a reg basis) i would give them money back when they logged in, or tell em when you can wield it, lemme know and i'll lend it to you for free for x amount of hours.

if i don't know you, a food and his money are soon to part.

Well I rarely lend anything in the first place, but if I were ever to stumble upon someone who traded without checking requirements, I'd probably just leave them there to whine. My business is lending the item and earn money. Their business is to provide the money for desired item. I've already satisfied my end of the deal, why should I go an extra mile to make him happy?

Agreed.

Also, their loss will eventually become a gain by way of slightly decreasing their stupidity.

I never lend or borrow items, the whole system of junk and stuff just seems pointless to me. I'd rather save up and buy the weapon I want than have it for a set time period.

If I were in your position, Id just be  for like a minute, tell the guy tough luck and log out. My friend always gets noobs asking to borrow his whip, and they never can use it :XD:
