Zaaps1
If it was someone i knew a bit, then I woudl certainly give it back. But if I didn't know them, then no way, because I can't garuntee they CAN'T (bar highscores) wield it... and I can't garuntee that they dropped it. So in effect I'm out, and they could easily get the item and the money. What do you mean "they dropped it?" You can't drop lent items. ~It's Super Effective! sarg1010
If they payed for something they can't use, tough [cabbage] on their part. They need to learn to do research before doing reckless things like that. Unfinished netherrack symbol of Khorne. Never forget. ~creeper face w/single tear~ DO YOU HEAR THE VOICES TOO?!?! Tsar
I usually don't lend items to strangers, recently been declining requests from friends also, but hell, if someone pays me to borrow an item they can't even use, it's not like I have to suddenly start being compassionate just because they can't do a simple research before the trade. Their loss, not mine. There won't be any regrets, sympathy nor refund.
Torlen
I usually check before I give out my ags. If I forget, and they didn't bother, it's their problem. People have to learn from their mistakes.

FellonyNoob
Firstly, I rarely accept money for an item. But if I did, and they couldn't weild it... depends on how they act. That is a pretty [bleep] stupid thing to do. amg 2009 posts good job

Outsanity
I wouldn't give the money back. My end of the bargain was to lend you a whip. What you DO with that whip is none of my business, so long as you have it and I have your money. Now if someone asked me the level requirements and I said 70 and they said they can't wield it, then I'd understand. But if you're going into a lending deal where you don't know the requirements to wield said item, then you're just stupid and kind of deserve to have the money taken. I don't know. Maybe I don't have a large heart when it comes to people being reckless. |2,300+ Total|138 Combat|12 Lvl 99 Skills|99 Slayer|
Nenga
I only usually lend things to friends for free (which is good to them because I am notably richer than most of my friends). But if I did lend things out to people for money then I wouldn't give them back the money. They should know full well what they will need to use the item and if they don't they shouldn't have payed for it. Not my problem because they're stupidly doing the stupid thing that stupid people do. Ponies!

angel13
It's buyer or in this case borrower beware. If they are dumb enough to pay money for a lent item they can't wield simply because they didn't look in the large and detailed in game guides then they deserve to lose a few gp. I honestly remember back when the Attack guide only showed bronze through dragon daggers as level requirements. walka92
id say that its their fault for not checking the reqs, and procede to walk away with their money. if they are gonna take my gs for no good reason they had better pay me to do it I'm gonna be walking down an alley in varrock, and walka is going to walk up to me in a trench coat and say "psst.. hey man, wanna buy some sara brew"walka92- retired with 99 in attack, strength, defence, health, magic, ranged, prayer and herblore and 137 combat. some day i may return to claim 138 combat, but alas, that time has not yet come
stonewall337
I normally lend items for free, always free to friends. I don't know why people don't lend items though, if they aren't using, or will not be using. Sometimes you just need a specialized tool for a job, like a z spear for waterfiends or SGS for DKS. jijilentosmi
I don't lend for money because I think its rather noobish. I did however let someone borrow a dragon halberd only to find out they haven't completed regicide, needless to say we both felt silly.
