Wisp
Oh, one more note about the planet I'm at. Alpha centauri is a binary system, in other words there are two suns, but they both have stable orbits iirc so there is, in theory a stable habitable zone. I really shouldn't say it's at rigil kentaurus, since it's really at alpha centauri, but rigil is the important part of the system, atleast for us. Grim_
Ion cannon research is complete and ready to be internationally distributed for the benefit of all the Haven nations (especially those that helped in the project). Please realize that this cannon is not designed for combat use of any kind and can only really be used to summon rain by ionizing the clouds. Should help with the colonization of the deserts. You're welcome. Boring reforms are being made in Luxembourg continuing to make perfect, perfect. Not much to say about it really. *Grabs designs and starts working on weaponising it* When all else fails use a low orbit ion cannon  (any weaponisation should take roughly 15 years) In other news we are beginning a space program which should allow us to put up a space station in 10 years  Were you even involved in the Haven? Anyway, what use is an ion cannon going to be as a weapon? It basically just polerizes particles. In theory it could used against highly electric reliant technology, but that's about it. Even that is pushing it, especially since it's designed to not be turned into a weapon of mass destruction. I'd also recommend not using it as a weapon because abuse of such a power would lead to the globe ganging up and ending you. Not such a good idea. Besides, all of the Haven nations have this technology now. You really have no advantage in using it, it's just there to help colonize deserts and other arid land. PS: Can someone repost the Mars map so I can claim some land on it (my people have been there for a while now, i just wanna make it official) Yes I am in haven and my teams work with whoever anyways the weaponization plans have been scrapped but the space station is still gonna keep on truckin :ohnoes:

Guest
Well, the purifiers are now being distributed. If any countries need any, and have something to trade, offer up. My scientists are currently attepting to find a way to filter oxygen from water, and make it into some sort of mask. In other words, we're researching how to breathe underwater. If any countries want to help, that would be appreciated, plus you'll have acess to the device.

Wisp
My Desta class Battleship is almost completed. Here are some new features that I hadn't announced before. There will be basic plasma shielding, which is created by heating up plasma even more than normal, and it gets dense enough that other matter has difficulty passing through it. This is extremely effective against railguns since railguns are based on kinetic impact rather than an explosion, and this would slow the projectile down significantly, so it would barely scratch the hull, depending on how powerful the railgun was that shot it. This ship's energy is provided by the most powerful reactor in existence, since we are the only country with the technology to build them, so it's weapons/shield systems have plenty of power, as does the thrusters. Here's a writeup on it. Desta A1 Flagship The Desta is the pinnacle of modern technology. Over a kilometer long, and capable of near luminal speeds, the Desta is equipped with innovative technology including: -Plasma Windows for the main hangar -Mass Driver based weapons and back up engine system -The first full sized aneutronic reactor -Superheated Dense Plasma based shields -The most advanced possible artificial gravity system. (Based mostly upon acceleration, but centrifugal force is a back-up) And the parts of the ships are the following: In the far rear is the main thruster, with the reactor just in front of that (internal). Below that is the loading bay, where a ramp can come down. Then, the hangar, with the blast door open. Below the hangar are several weapon systems, and more are in front of it. On the top of the ship, and in front of the hangar is the bridge. In the far front is a biodome capable of growing food in gravity-free enviroments, but there are also facilities for harvesting gases from Gas Giant planets, along with sophisticated production/repair facilities, and storage for solidified gases which are slowly melted in order to maintain an atmosphere similar to the earth's. The ship also has facilities for cyrogenic sleep for the entire crew of 1200, or the ability to carry 1200 extra people in those facilities. It will be launched next year. Nero
Germania's 200,000 troops that I said were loaded onto assault craft has reached its destination. All the troops have the strength-enhancing agent, brain implant chips, and exosuits equipped. They are currently staging an invasion of Sri Lanka. The naval ships that accompanied them are providing support, as well as the aircraft on the aircraft carriers. Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Sierra Leone and Liberia have all agreed to assimilation within Germania. The others are hesitant to join, but with a little more finesse I'm sure they will fall in line. Wisp
The only difference from what we already had is just it's heated a bit more, which isn't too tough with the amount of energy the ship's reactor produces. It's still pretty basic shielding though, it's not adaptive, and even though the reactor is really powerful, at this point we can only have shields on for a while. Or we will only be able to, it's not quite done yet. EDIT: To make it a bit fairer, I could just delay the addition of shields to the ship for a few more years, since I guess it was kinda fast. I guess it's alright, since I don't use railguns anyways :P Germanian news: 3 million more Germanians have volunteered for the armed forces, and they are currently in a frenzy after hearing on Findenland's threats. Germania has also started building bunkers dotted around Germania in key positions. 25 more MAASs have been finished, and the research into the new heavy tank has been completed. The first one has been produced, and production has been started on 20 more. I've also modified the design of Russia's exosuits, to give the suit a primitive type of AI (not actual AI, just something that would regulate the body and notify it of any weird happenings). This should make battlefield diagnostics of wounded soldiers much easier, since the info could just be loaded directly into the medic's/doctor's brain implant chip. Wisp
I'll postpone adding shields to it for a few years for good measure. Progress on a space elevator on Mars is going great. With 2009 technology, it could already have been built on mars/the moon (were we able to get there) so it's not too hard with modern advances. Once this is complete on mars, production of ship will be so much easier, and then the next step is getting one built on Earth. We have also passed a bill recently that will put a nice chunk of money forward in order to fund public bomb shelters, and private bomb shelters all over our territory, so that should war ever happen our casualties will be much lower from bombardment. indy500fan
The two new construction space stations are completed, and are working on 2 more ships which should take 2 years. The mining ship that was supplying the Venus project has temporarily been retasked to supply ore for the Space Elevator project on Mars. The remaining colonization ship is continuing to ship people to the Martian colonies (half to the joint colony and half to Thorland each time). indy500fan
Alright, I claim Sri Lanka. Assuming that my country is 15 years behind everyone else, as it was in 2009, and that the amount we were behind would increase, I'll place myself at 2025 to your current 2050. For some background info, we have basic 2025 technology - including a 100,000 man army (virtually nothing compared to current game armies, which are probably up to multiple millions.), tanks, jets, naval ships, moderate missile technology, submarines etc. Prototype technology includes weaponized lasers, kinetic bombing, etc. In 2025 we have a population of 21 million, and much of our employment is in the refinement of natural resources found here (limestone, graphite, mineral sands, gems, phosphates, clay, hydropower, etc.) We have many people in the scientific field and the overall quality of life is very good. Fair? My army is only 30,000 people :) . But I do have the most advanced unmanned aircraft since I have been working on them since day one. Wisp
Here's a link with predicted future populations. Link So sri lanka would have 23 million. And in 2025 there were not prototypes of those types of weaponry yet. You'd have to start researching them yourself, as most countries don't have research on those it wouldn't make sense for you to start out with them. Rest of that is fair. Weaponized lasers sort of, but no countries in the game were actually researching them then. And since you said you were essentially starting at 2025, you wouldn't necessarily. Also, the US expects to have a prototype around 2025, iirc, for kinetic bombing. Hegemony-Spain

Wisp
Rocco, the game splits from reality at 2009. If you want to start prototypes, you have to start them, you cant already have them when the majority of countries in the game don't have them. Just a note, we're also in negotiations cameroon, gabon, central african republic, ugana, tanzania, malawi, rwanda, burdundi, equatorial guinea, in part of a deal with germany about the rest of Africa. The final design touches are being put onto our newest assault rifle. They will be unveiled in one and half years. Hegemony-Spain
