has anyone in Euprope not gone to war with France? (in game or irl)

Perhaps Romania?

There was a thread about that on a different forum I use, which is full of history buffs. I think I saw Romania come up a few times. (and I believe Sweden if you don't want to count Napoleonic France)

I'm kind of surprised at the lack of major natural disasters. Though with the knowledge we ended up gaining from Somalia's brilliant meteorologists, I suppose we were able to predict them all and avoid them perfectly.

Oh! and I also had a civil war for a little while to mix things up. I'm shocked no other countries have gone through one.

We used to shoot rioters.

Now we are a democracy so nobody really bothers.

We use non-lethal alternatives in order to dispel riots. One of these "weapons" that we use against them is the Active Denial System, a device that was actually developed in the United States military c. 2009. It uses a laser beam that is fired toward a small mirror, which is then reflected (and spread out a little) onto a dish, which is then reflected into an even wider beam at a crowd. Since the beam only penetrates enough to cause a burning sensation on the victim, it is not deadly. However, few can stand the burning sensation for long before trying to flee. It's like tear gas, but much more reliable since it can't be blown in the wrong direction by a sudden shift in winds.

Penguin, detecting hurricanes/typhoons and reporting them via news is implausible at the moment with the current mechanics. People just can't be on every single minute of their lives and watch this thread continuously in order to prepare for them. Natural disasters like earthquakes, however, would be plausible.

I had thought up a system where we take the number of countries, a roll that on a random number generator (meaning 18 countries would get a roll between 1-18, and then whatever number that landed, the country that has that number would get a natural disaster that is most likely in the region (typhoons in Asia, earth quakes in mainland areas, etc). This would be rolled once a week (irl time). Never proposed it though, since I figured most people would argue about land ratios and probability of natural disasters in certain areas, etc.

Like he said, we'd know about a hurricane about 30 minutes in advance real life time, so yeah. If nothing else, the area where I usually would be getting hit by storms, the US's southern coast, and Mexico, don't really have much that can be damaged by hurricanes. Or earthquakes.

That's an okay system, but I don't really think it's too necessary.

You see, i already killed borat (mwahaha). as for natural disasters, i don't think any really affect me anyways.

well, as of now our somalian base is researching a project that will disperse tsunamis before they hit land.

EDIT: ah hell, we'll do it at haven so all can partake in it.

Yea, it's really not a big deal. I don't mind if we don't have natural disasters. Just thought it was weird how we went 50 years without a big one, like Katrina or the tsunami.

Trol, how would you disperse likely trillions or more gallons of water traveling at speeds of 50-500 mph? Anything you could do would probably just create another natural disaster.

I think we did have a natural disaster a while ago, in italy. I don't know.

are you kidding I dont wanna use that [cabbage] Riots are how I train my HAW crews to use the flak cannons (may or may not be loaded with rubber bullets) needless to say there arent that many riots anymore :( now I have to resort to either convicts or dummys to train my HAW crews (WOW I'm creepy)

I would go ahead and keep asking the question publicly on the thread, as well as send PMs to all members. (All of my folders are full, so it's very difficult to do this myself.) If there is no more activity on the Sweden-Finland trade in a couple of days, I will go ahead and see if I can go ahead and sign the deal. After all, Sweden was mostly my sector, anyway. The 2-day timeframe just ensures that all members had ample time to vote.

So now we can make oil? Sounds handy.

I'd just like to clear up the confusion about my methods of production.

Basically, the four mining ships I have are in a cycle, and once they deposit their ores in Elysium, it is attached to a pod.

This pod is then dropped into a wasteland, where it will activate thrusters and parachutes when it comes about 45 seconds seconds from hitting the ground, reducing its speed enough that it still creates a large crater and would damage anything it hits, but it will not be blown apart on impact, and is still retrievable.

Dyson shards power my factories, and since these drones have incredibly thin body sections and limbs (about half the width of a human arm) and no bulk around the centre, they require very little to produce.

The AI is basically a program, it was perfected a good 10 years ago, and is now just downloaded into the 'Brain' of the machine, which consists of about 8 advanced CPUs, with a hard disk capable of storing everything it may need.

There, happy now?

Side notes:

Dyson shard #5 has been launched.

RPG, I'm not sure Dyson shards would work on the side of a ship, since they're designed to be orbiting the sun.

My mind has been successfully connected to the Zeus network, and being omnipresent in a lot of Aether will take some getting used to.

I still don't think it makes sense that you have the capability to produce 2 million of them a year.

Europa update:

Navy done upgrades, now modern for game-time.

E2S missiles coming along nicely

Bomb coming along nicely

Gun coming along nicely.

Due to humans being able to survive extreme weathers, an exploration of Greenland's icy heart was started a while ago. Europa has found a massive oil well there. Construction on infrastructure to get the oil has begun, should be done in 3 years.

Taxes raised by 2% in Europa.

Europa update:

Thats at maximum capacity.

Basically, I produce very few ships and planes, have no tanks, and 90% of my war factories are geared for producing these things.

The pieces are all designed to lock into place, hence being able to use Doom's modified weaponry.

Basically, they can all be made on a production line, with each factory being able to keep 3 production lines, and having about 200 factories (A lot of factories were converted after I stopped manufacturing Exobreaker suits on a mass scale, and I went on a building spree about a dozen pages back and made a load more.)

Basically, each production line creates about 35,000 per year.

So about 102,000 per factory, 200 factories.

Only 100 factories are currently active though, or my economy would get wrecked.

Remember that these make up about 97% of my military now, with the only human troops being snipers.

I'd like to invite all the world leaders to the Elysium space HQ for a barbeque.

Bring your friends.

Another 450,000 X4 exo-breakers have been produced.

Another 100,000 Lancelots have been produced.

Total: 1,450,000 exo-breakers, 800,000 Lancelots.

Not sure what to say, other than the fact that I received a PM from Stone stating that he would like to join the NWO.

Can i get the republic of Ecuador pretty please

It would be a lot easier for game continuity that you didn't. There are some countries in Africa that are probably available. And they're alot better off in the game than in real life. Once dusty gets on that can be sorted out

Bah, all this physics makes my head hurts, I'm going to sleep.

I'll just post some quick notes:

I cleared a large area (About 55 Miles squared) in the north of what was previously Iran to land metal shipments, so now all of my metal will be dropping from orbit there.

I'd advise people to stay out of the way, or you may find a 10 ton block of metal falling on your head, and that would hurt.

Quite a lot.
