Urk-Orz are basically running battle fortresses with a side order of overkill. Unlike Dusty's super armour they are designed to be fast, deadly and killy.

 

They have a modifer of +1,000% because of the Exo-Suit, a 20% bonus because some people think they are cute for some obscure reason, 300% bonus when attacking ships(Which cancels to 100% with the 200% defending bonus) because they have extremely advanced tactics. Also in most situations there is going to be well over 10,000 of them attacking at once. I would rather not bog everyone done in posting populations for their ship, especially when it is unlikely to br very high(400 or so people for a big ship).

 

So 400 with a +200% bonus is 1,200, maybe 20 suited and booted troops so 180. Verses Orz which have a +1,300 bonus, so 1=14 Thus 100 would kill a crew of 400 and 20 troops.

 

Also to note is that as far as I was aware everyone was pretty much in jump suits in space...I can't imagine Planetary armour being particularly easy to walk in, much less to pick up spanners or anything. If you want to outfit everyone is plantary armour then you are looking at probably -60% of your PP scores. Other exo-suits will restrict you by less, but will ramp up the cost of building the ship since you are effectively building everyone a personal life support machine.

Also you are gonna have to make corridors bigger.

Their armour can. They personally are just as weak against bullets as everyone else. Also I think it is fair to point out that they are going to be installing faraday cages over their exo-suits so they will probably be out of action for a short while.

 

That's why we should just manage economics ourselves and remove the money factor from the space station building.

Probably, but it would need to be replaced with something that limited you on the basis of your actual economic power...so resources for instances.

 

seeing as I know very little about viruses in real life, does anybody know if they can survive in ethanol? If not, could a virus be engineered so that it can?

Viruses can live in Ethanol, they are just hardy viruses so +7 years to research.

 

Also, 50 million people per station is a little bit much. Actually, a lot much. That basically means the entire population of earth could only have 120 stations, if every single person on the planet was working for the stations.

 

Yeah I suppose you are right. 5 million people per station. 1,000 are actualy on the station, the other 4,998,000 are farmers, minners, accountants and ect.

 

So thats 5 million people per station and 50 billion Dollars per station, and each station produces 200 PP per turn.

Most, if not all, of my ships have around 2,000 Federation Marines on board at all time. If they know they're going into combat it's more like 5,000.

 

And they're wearing the regular exosuit armours that I have. The corridors are obviously wide enough for them lol.

 

And if my marines are getting brushed aside like nothing, I hate to think what they're doing to the other people's troops (probably just staring at Ross' drones and making them shut down).

Now I know that they are powerful, but say that we are attacking them with a boarding weapon after we shut down their shields and armor. Is there still the dice roll for 90% capture or is it that you have to fight through all of them.

 

If its that you have to fight through all of them, then I'm changing my stats for all the ships I have. If you actually have to fight through all of them, then boarding is next to useless. Also, that would make the Urk Orz almost invincible, so I'd like to keep the 90% dice roll, as it makes boarding a viable option.

Project...Funny Kelp has been started. It will be completed at the start of the New Year, shorter than normal because a space station has been built previously. This will consist of an orbital ring which orbits vertically around the planet (rather than horizontally like the strange matter rings). It looks like a gyroscope, and its gravity makes the strange matter rings to disperse in a predictible manner, creating a shield. It will take quite some time for the strange matter to begin to disperse.

 

The station will be larger but weaker than Kent, but its comparable due to the strange matter shield, (sorta like the concept of a propeller where guns can fire when the propeller isn't in front of it, but lots of times it is hard to fire back through).

They are immune by Naquahdah in the blood(apparently) not because of any genetic predisposition.

Both actually, Naquadah kills bacteria and weakens viruses, advanced imune systems kills viruses and makes imunity.

Also Rocco, there is both armor and shielding. Armor protects against matter weps mainly while shielding protects against energy, so you should edit that in, unless you want your ships to be instantly destroyed by a single laser beam. :rolleyes:

Okay 3 converted "fire" ships are being sent to the sephar system. In their holds they have large amounts of strange matter which will be sent out in orbs at the orz fleet if that fails they are unmanned so they will simply turn off the latices and become projectiles of strange matter themselves. The ships have been given 10kg of the new substance to speed up this attack. Does anyone particularly want the orz home world because if not the same thing is going to happen to it.

I am just going to spray strange matter through the portal. If that doesnt destroy the portal itself it will destroy the enemy planet quite easily.
