It probaly doesn't, but I'm figuring out a way to subvert the subverter. If they just went with the system, then fine, but I'm just figuring out a way to logically ignore that.

 

So I made an extremely overpowered weapon which can only be used against an overpowered boarding defence. It keeps the balance. :thumbsup:

 

 

 

Or we could just ignore the boarding defences completely.

No no no. See Dusty, you added "boarding defences" and made it all dependant on combat modifiers. The old system was that once the enemy's armor and shields were down, then there was a 90% chance you took over their ship.

 

It made a lot of sense, considering that there's also the risk of you losing your ship or having both ships explode.

 

 

 

It's not overpowered, since you still have to go through their shielding and armor anyways.

That makes no sense at all. A ship without armour and shields isn't denfenseless if it gets boarded. It still has its crew, its internal weapons and systems, its life support, its power, etc.

90% chance of taking over the ship is such a stupid percentage.

 

And game balance? Boarding is useless. How many ships were boarded in WW2? Hell, even WW1?

Boarded or incinerated.

 

Keep in mind that boarding is harder as you have to defeat both the armor and shielding of the spacecraft, while with other weapons you only have to take down one of them.

I'd just like a ruling from Archi, instead of arguing about this. If he rules with boarding defences that make boarding nigh impossible, then I'll just go change my stats of the ships to values where everything is the same. This is really wrecking ship customisation, as there are only a few combinations you could go for now.

*Dramatic music sounds* ARCHIVE C IS COMPLETE!@!@!@!@!@ though the full details of the umbrella project that has taken up most of the MSS's time to fully defend are not known one of the major components of it is lasers. More specifically 60 years of research into combat lasers that would be on par with or a little below ross's ARC lasers. All ships are being outfitted with goal keeper MAS lasers.

If you want to board a ship you need to get the other person to PM me, or post, the number of people on the ship. Othewise it is impossible for me to work out. Urk-Orz are assumed to automatically work at the price of 1 ship being abandoned per ship captured.(at least)

I am developing a "mixture" if you will which enhances the growth rate of a virus (makes it grow in a body faster). The bad side effect is that most of the time, the virus kills off the population near it within a few minutes, so it can't spread much further.

Just pointing this out there but by this weekend I will have 9 praetorian carriers and 27,000 fighters to go along with those ships. The carriers are being outfitted with archnite armor and the unmanned fighters are being equipped with a battery that will allow them to fire a MAS laser 5 times.

Update:

 

There are seven more years until Second Life goes public.

 

Plans for the first Gaian colony is underway.

 

I cannot stress the gravity of some of the projects that I'm working on with Kamino. They will revolutionise our society.

 

Kajean population is estimated to be at around 2 billion.

 

The City Improvement Programme has commenced. It will aim at creating and restoring monuments in cities, along with the ongoing infrastructure upkeep. The development of monuments should increase citizens' pride of their cities and increase their morale even more. It should also improve the tourism industry. Cities such as Jerusalem will also be improved. Cities will look more wealthy (including the public transportation systems that have been installed in every metropolitan city years ago), which should match the drastic improvements to the average quality of life.

 

The Grand Memorial Museum has opened to the public. This museum features many artefacts recovered from Britannian and Holy Empire lands on Earth (including the pyramids!). Parts of the museum are decorated with an opulent style.

 

Gas harvesting facilities are being built around the two gas giants.

 

The national anthem has been changed from Rule, Britannia! (or "God Save the King" as it was used later on) to Land of Hope and Glory. We believe that it will reflect the triumph of individual happiness over imperialism. The anthem shouldn't cause any trouble because the song isn't just about Britain -- it's about OUR land!

My ARC cannons have been in development for almost 80 years now, and they've been a continuous project with a large amount of money going into it.

I think its safe to say that my lasers are more advanced than any others which exist at the current time, and unless you have a spare 15 trillion per year to siphon into research, that isn't changing anytime soon.

 

Like, Rpg, I don't like competition in my main fields, heh.

Not that I want to actually board you, but whatever defences you put on your stuff, the Urk-Orz are just going to have a better kind.

And Ross, according to you I can catch up with ARC's(although I wont, at least not in the near future) and I can board your ships(although I won't(jaffa are hardy against radiation(although only to a certain degree(cannot survive nukes(now I'm just overdoing the ()s))))).

 

And the ethanol in the Urk-Orz ships does prove funny, you can't survive there, but there's no dubt you would thrive.

Well, I doubt the Jaffa could stay aboard for more than a year or two, since this stuff is absurdly radioactive. Still, it's a lot more than humans, who would likely develop lethal cancer within about 24 hours.

 

Eos project is currently 17/50, Krypt A is 8/25. Begginning project Krypt B, ETA 20 years.

You chose your words fine, I understood what you said the first time, I'd catch up with you if I used "all" 20t(I have a lot more but 20t is my disposable income now) on its for the next 20-40 years.

 

And if Iever were to try and take one of your ships(very unlikely that I'd even considder it) I would use some sort of remote control program to control it from most likely a tel'tak left behind to bring it back home.

 

Oh, and my OCSs are done now I guess, until such time that I am happy with ship fittng techs they are to make more OCSs(for those that did not read the post where I started them, I found out that OCS was a good arcronym for the ship-making stations or Orbital Construction Stations as I call them).
