Could someone make a map of the people who are still playing?

Not an up-to-date map in terms of borders, but if you're just looking at countries that are being played (as far as I know), here they are:

Red underline is currently in play

Black lines filling a country means it has been destroyed

The underline below Germany is for Luxembourg (as it is too tiny to warrant naming on the map - lol)

Israel is actually the "Kingdom of Jerusalem".

I'm fairly sure japan and Australia are still in. And that doesn't include colonies/border extensions obviously. I think argentina is in too, but not active.

Yeah, it's fine. I probably would have forgot a few countries too. As for drawing in colonies, I'd be fairly clueless for any colonies other than mine.

All I know is that you have a bunch of the islands in the Caribbean, but if I tried to add that in then I'd have to colour code everything...and well, [bleep] that.

a full scale test of my plasma based mass destruction weapons went just as planned and have been added to the russian arsenal. the technology is currently being scaled down to grenade size, but we do not expect there to be such an advance that would allow us to use plasma guns/rifles due to the technology to produce a sufficient amount of plasma/power being too large. we may, however, expand into tank mounted plasma cannon, though this is still in discussion phases.

also working on developing our own exosuits to keep up with the current growing usefullness and need for such technology in this tense world; i can not afford to be left behind. i expect this technology to be online within 4 years (4 of our days). these will follow similar desings to the tau and space marine exosuits from warhammer 40,000 (tau are lighter weight, fast moving, compact suits, and spacemarines in wh40k are bulkier, but stronger)

i am also building antiaircraft guns in seemingly random places around russia. any unidentified flying object will be shot down without warning, should it approach one of these guns, as will any military aircraft that is not currently allied to russia. you have been warned.

we have also conscripted another 50,000 soldiers, which are currently in training

I'm gonna be walking down an alley in varrock, and walka is going to walk up to me in a trench coat and say "psst.. hey man, wanna buy some sara brew"

Iran has upgraded its A-3 suits to A-4, any suits currently in possession by other countries may be sent to repair stations and have the upgrade installed themselves.

Most of my scientists have been told to shift their focus to space research, and they are currently searching for more planets within about 2 parsecs of earth.

They may have found one, and have scheduled the launch of a probe towards this planet.

It should return in about 5 years with data and a full analysis of the planets surface and temperature.

I would still like to be involved with the Brazil/Norway space project, but I would now like to join it with my own, so we can share tech and space missions, instead of just leeching off of yours.

Norway's citizens are getting a little angry their leader keeps on taking one year+ long vacations, so I'll be updating yearly for now on.

Right now I am just going to explain why we had to go with cryogenics rather than completely self sustaining modules. To start off, completely self sustaining modules were impossible. Well I shouldn't say impossible, they were just way too big per person. The 48 modules currently are holding 1050 people altogether, with only around 50 awake at one time. Those 50 awake are what are taking most of the rooms and resources, each module could only sustain about one person. Without cryogenics only around 50 people could have made the flight. Now just 50 people colonizing wouldn't be bad, but this was an extremely expensive project. Over a trillion dollars expensive. If only 50 people went that would be at a cost of over 20 billion per person. At 1050 the cost per person is about one billion. We wanted to citizens to feel like they were getting their money's worth.

The current modules recycle water at basically 100% efficiency. Even 2009 technology could recycle water pretty efficiently, we just basically perfected it. However food was a problem. A decent amount of food can be grown, and each module did have space for that, but it wasn't quite enough. So we had to create food that gave the maximum amount of nutrients for the density of the product. This was basically a lot of different non-perishable foods mashed together and compacted. They kind of look like bricks, each brick weighs about a kilogram and can feed a person for a month.

Other updates will come later after I talk to Brazil.

While I was at my grandparents house for 2 years being bored, the worlds largest bridge has been completed and is opened. It spans the Gulf of Finland from Helsinki to Tallinn. This connects all of Findenland into one group-thing. It has sparked tourism, but not a huge amount. It is already in full use, and has allowed transportation between the two masses of the country to increase exponentially. As of now, there is a toll to enter it, equivalent of around 2 US dollars.

Findenland would also like to purchase all of Russia west of 30 degrees east. Any parts of St. Petersburg, besides the fort, would be excluded from this deal.

Money has also been diverted from useless funds into developing another top secret military project.

Indy, is it okay for me to join the space exploration project?

I would very much like to help, and can provide money towards the project as well.

I posted on the last page about the benefits.

Also, I have dispatched a surface probe to the planet that was discovered about 1.05 parsecs away from Sol.

It should return in about 2 years with information regarding the planets ability to sustain humans/other life.

Would like suggestions about the name of said planet.

I'm thinking something Greek, Like Ouranos, or Aether or something.

Wait, what planet? The planet we discovered is in the closest start system, about 2 parsecs away. And even if there was a planet 1.05 parsecs away, that would take a minimum of 6.5 years to get there, and return. Traveling at lightspeed. Our ship is the fastest thing created by humans, and it isn't that fast. The fastest probe using rockets that aren't like the ones we use (and that takes a lot longer than a few years of having a space program to develop) would arrive at the planet in roughly 120 years.

EDIT: Our spacecraft was launched successfully 3 months ago. The brightness from the rockets, though several hundred miles away from the earth's surface could be seen from the ground.

I thought a parsec was about 2.5 lightyears?

Okay, cancel what I said and change it to 12 years.

Its kinda difficult to be realistic about this sort of thing.

Still waiting to see if I can join your/Norway space project... Could I get a response about that?

I seem to be screwing it up on my own.

a parsec is 2.5 light years or so, but there are no solar systems 1.05 parsecs away. The closest is almost exactly 2 parsecs away, and you don't have the technology to get there and back in 12 years.

First successful man-made organ has been transplanted. Reaserch is continues on a more space-efficient, effective coilgun, hopefully a prototype will be out in a year. A small crashed aircraft bearing no national identity has been spotted not far off from the outskirts of Sophia, dispatching a small group of soldiers to investigate.

The sour dough of the epitmous pie hungers for another's sweet lips to be dulled into a state of most irreverant humbleness

Well see the problem is the ship is already away, there's nothing more to join. There is still a little funding needed for receiving communications from the ship but it is basically negligible.

However another project is always a possibility.

Norway this year and last year dropped the rate that can be spent from the sovereign wealth fund from 4% to 2%, as well as started putting oil money into it again rather than straight into the space program. It is around $300 billion now. The 2% was spent on updating the domestic space flight programs. Norway has been putting more satellites into space in geosynchronous orbits above Norway. The use of these will not be revealed at this time. Norwegian citizens, still elated over the success of the joint Brazil-Norway project are all about anything space related, even if it is ominous satellites over our country.

Military updates will be next year.

As indy said, there's not much more for now. In a few days we should have landed and have the start of a colony on the planet, whether or not it's atmospheric conditions are suitable for out-of-ship human life. The ship is equipped with a room that can work as a biosphere, and can grow enough food, in theory.

Brazil is now working on advanced navigation/targeting systems, for possible use in space endeavors.

Hey cool Africa is mine again!

Not quite. Despite the map, the majority of Africa has already been colonized. Pretty much all of the edges are gone, including Madagascar. There may be a few central countries left over, thought I'm unsure. I know for a fact that Congo, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Mozambique, South Africa, Guinea, Kenya, Angola, Zambia, Somolia and Egypt are taken. Probably more on top of that.

90 more LAART's have been produced.

Spec Ops troops are brushing up on their tactical planning skills.

African based troops are migrating to the Mozambique/South African border as tensions increase.

Research money is now going into human cloning. (Believe it or not, that was not inspired by my use of Star Wars vehicles). Some scientists are skeptical of it's succsess. The Pope has yet to be notified of this project.

The Belgium rebuilding is also nearing completion thanks to the help of Germany.
