My military project is in its final stages, and the new technology has started making its way to Germany's elite soldiers. So, I can finally unveil it.

 

 

 

With its huge budget and co-operation between nearly all of Germany's top scientists, the German military has invented a new computer chip that allows complete integration with the human brain. Reflexes, intelligence, and a minor increase in strength were some of the initial hopes for the project, but research leaped ahead at a crazy rate, and so huge amounts of data were included onto each chip, allowing for all of human kinds military history to be added to them, which could be immediately accessed by whomever has the chip installed. It also has a wireless transmitter that allows near-instantaneous communication between soldiers, as the chip flags human responses for danger and alarm and transmits them to all nearby troops. While this has lead to some people inadvertently revealing their fear of spiders, the tactical advantages far outweigh the privacy concerns.

 

 

 

The main side effect of the integrated chips are the rapid degeneration of brain tissue and membranes due to the brain handling input and output that should be impossible for biological species. Aneurysms and brain damage are expected to be very high in prolonged users of these new devices.

 

 

 

The other project that was being developed has been moving along steadily. However, it is too unstable to be worthwhile giving to soldiers in the German army. It is a new biological parasite that has been created that eats away at the bones and muscle of people who come into contact with it. The original purpose is to use it to strengthen bone density and allow for increased weight to be carried, however, the agent is not performing exactly as expected, and as often as not it decides to simply eat away at someone from the inside and not replace what it has taken away, effectively killing test subjects in a very painful manner.

 

 

 

These agents are being kept in extremely secure facilities so as to prevent any apocalyptic-minded groups from releasing it unto unsuspecting populations.

Well see the problem is the ship is already away, there's nothing more to join. There is still a little funding needed for receiving communications from the ship but it is basically negligible.

 

 

 

However another project is always a possibility.

 

 

 

Norway this year and last year dropped the rate that can be spent from the sovereign wealth fund from 4% to 2%, as well as started putting oil money into it again rather than straight into the space program. It is around $300 billion now. The 2% was spent on updating the domestic space flight programs. Norway has been putting more satellites into space in geosynchronous orbits above Norway. The use of these will not be revealed at this time. Norwegian citizens, still elated over the success of the joint Brazil-Norway project are all about anything space related, even if it is ominous satellites over our country.

The transmissions we've received already (They are of course a bit behind time wise, the most recent message was sent 6 months ago.) show that there have been no problems whatsoever on the ship. It should be reaching it's maximum velocity within the next 6 months.

 

 

 

Now for our next project. After discussions with Norway, we have decided to unveil our first public space project. Public being that all countries are invited to join in, in a way. The project is essentially this. It has been known for a long time that asteroids have a huge amount of resources on them. For example, a single asteroid, 16-psyche, has enough iron in it that if we were to extract the amount of iron mined by the entire world in 2004 each year, the asteroid would last millions of years. And that's just one asteroid. Of course, transporting all this material back to earth would be rather difficult, but not completely impossible. So, we're introducing two new types of ships. These ships are also, incapable of interstellar travel. Their max speed is much, much less than our original ship type. They do not have modules, like the other ship, and there are no facilities for cryogenic sleep.

 

This is because they are only designed for interplanetary travel.

 

 

 

The ships are different, so I'll explain them one at a time. Here is a rough sketch of the ships.

 

 

The ship on the top is a colony ship, the one on the bottom is a Multipurpose-ship.

 

Colony Ship:

 

This ship is designed for colonizing or expanding already existing colonies. It is almost self sustaining, as it has multi-tiered biodome that can grow enough food to feed the entire crew forever, barring disaster. The water recycling system is virtually 100%, it would take hundreds to thousands of years for it to run out of water. The only part that is not self-sustaining, is oxygen. There is enough compressed oxygen to last a standard crew about 15 years. So once every 15 years, another ship would have to come to refill the oxygen.

 

The ship, once landed stands on the massive supports near the thrusters, making a tower.

 

Internally, the living areas are in constantly spinning rings, in order to simulate gravity.

 

Multi-Purpose Ship:

 

This ship is the jack of most trades, you could say. It can be used as a transport ship for oxygen, raw materials, or just about anything else. But, it's most interesting purpose is as a foundry/mining hub. It lands horizontally rather than vertically, and can connect to one of the bottom supports of the colony ship for easier access. The ship itself has a section for drilling mine-shafts, and extracting resources. (The square/octagon part of this ship is part of the mining-rig.) The ship has similar water-recycling and oxygen capabilities as the colony ship, but there aren't any food production facilities in the Multipurpose ship.

 

So overall, it can be used as a cargo ship, or a mining rig. It can also support colonists for a decent amount of time, but no where near as long as the Colony ship.

 

 

 

So here's how your country can get involved. Norway, and Brazil, will build these ships for you, for a price, and then you have control of them. No ships capable of interstellar travel are being sold or built, due to the huge costs and build times. These ships are specifically designed for colonizing asteroids, or mars.
