Most useful item

Sawdust. Really, though, I'd say a hatchet. You can chop to make money at level 3, it allows firemaking and fletching, and it's a weapon. Also used in numerous quests.

Not neccessarily an item, but the compost bin is the most useful to me.

I'm f2p now so the most useful item would be law runes because I hate walking.

Abyssal Whip

By three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by reflection, which is noblest;

Second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experience, which is the bitterest.

Lots of sarcasm in this thread.. :lol:

My most useful item is a dueling ring. I tend to bring one with me constantly for the easy bank teleport. I used to use a glory for that, until I upgraded to a fury. I think duel ring is better than glory for that anyways though, with 2 times the amount of charges, and not needing to be recharged.

gold pieces without any doubt

if you've played diablo 2 on b.net, you'll see that the gold pieces there are worthless, so people use item vs item trades... it's really quite annoying

The most usefull item must be your (invisible)backpack.
