mrph3r
The definition of a 'well-rounded' life is also up for grabs nowadays. While I am at school, I live 600 miles away from my original hometown and most of my friends, and 1400 miles away from my girlfriend. Unless I proposed to run up a ginormous phone bill (or travel expenses), the easiest way to keep in touch is over the computer. (I run up a decent amount of airline bills regardless...) Due to my field of study, I also spend a lot of time on the computer. I might have RS up and running in the background, sort of afk fishing or something similar. Because of this, I might end up on RS 30-35 hours a week - but I'm only really 'in the game' for 15-20 hours. Add that to about 7 hours of classes, ~7 hours of teaching duties (more during test weeks), and maybe 20 or so hours of writing, and I still have plenty of time to do whatever I want to do with my life. Depending on what you do for a living, it's still quite possible to log lots of online time. Fools_Taco
this is what i have been wondering for years, i started runescape at seven years at 7 allot of kids in school thought runescape was dumb and i was somehow a nerd for playing it, then my first account was hacked (level 37, i was SO sad) and i quit until i was 12, when i went back runescape had changed alt but the general view of it at my school hadn't. i was skill ridiculed and called a loser for playing it but i just got over it, however allot of my friends who liked playing runescape eventually caved in to peer pressure and stopped, to them runescape "wasn't worth being uncool", the worst part though is that my mom considers it a waist of time and thinks me playing it is bad for me (but books are sooo much better right, i have only read 100's of them) even though the place we are living in now provides very few compelling opportunity's to do much else. when it comes down to it though something is only a waist if you consider it to be (for the most part) and if you truly enjoy something enough to go far in it you should be proud of it. You will find as you get older its not important to be cool. I worried about being cool when i was that age aswell and you know what it got me? regret and a big fat nothing. The people that are "cool" now at your age end up being nothings at my age (im 32). And i said it in another thread: 1: Some people have well paying jobs and can put in 60 hours of runescape a week. They have an active social life and manage a healthy body weight and eat well. Do these people have no life? 168 hours in a week Standard 9-5 5 days a week job plus 15 minutes travel time (41 hours and 15 minutes) 7 hours sleep per day (49 hours) 1 hour eating and/or preparing food per day (7 hours) 30 minutes exercise per day (3 hours 30 minutes) 30 minutes pooping, peeing, bathing, cleaning teeth, getting dressed per day (3 hours 30 minutes) ------- 104 hours and 15 minutes After 60 hours of rs, 164 hours. Leaving you 4 hours.... to do anything with. and yes you can get 60 hours a week in easy. I worked for 50 hours and played all 50 of thoes hours and its easy to squeeze in a few hours Monday to Friday while you watch the most [developmentally delayed]ed tv shows with your girlfriend (i live with my girlfriend and she makes me watch crap like grays anatomy). And get a few hours in the weekend. And all you have to do is be smart about things and look for ways to do 2 things at once. For example i live on the 16th floor and i never take the elevator, i take the stairs every time. Even when im carrying groceries or something i bough at ikea. You can get a good amount of exercise and save time easily if you are innovative and look for solutions and don't cry about problems. Also you don't need to work out every day, 3 days a week maby 1 hour with weights and the stairs is more then enough cardio (try walking up 16 flights of stairs like 4-5 times a day). Also and i would like to inject here i think you are a clown with a name like JoeDaStud but i digress; You can come up with clever ways to do 2 things at once like i eluded to in one of the previous paragraphs. For example you can fish or woodcut while you prepare all your food for the week (i do all my cooking on sundays and it saves heaps of cash. Most people hemorrhage a massive amount of money on food and dont even know it.) Just because you are to dumb to figure out how to reach your goals in runescape and still have a life joethestud.clown.net does not mean other people cant do it. And before you spew out something asinine like "well i dont want to do that anyway and you are a loser" remember not everyone lives their life according to your standards. Some of us actually have a different look on things. I cant get 60 hours a week in anymore because that job is gone now. Im just saying you can have a life and be pro at this game easy. One of the reasons i play runescape is because i have been addicted to online games for over a decade and runescape is the only game i can play professionaly and still maintain a conversation with my girlfriend so she wont feel like i am ignoring her. Everquest and WoW require to much attention. Taco out.
Me_Hate_Libs
Most of the excercise I get these days is chasing down the hookers I'm going to strangle. The little crackhead ones run fast too. :-# This website and its contents are copyright © 1999 - 2010 Jagex Ltd.
Wot
Fred should ignore the hat0rz. I have found there are more nice people than bad anyways. Especially on tif, from my experience. We all rule  Hugs guys, hugs Yeah, there are hardly any people like that on tif, and the ones there are usually get trolled out the forum  2,274th person to 99 mining
Cpchris
i agree... personally, this summer ive been spending about 5 hours a day on runescape. most of its spent after midnight. other than sleep, theres not much else i could do, especially that involves a social life. so who cares that im on for 3 hours after midnight? doesnt mean i have no life. its usually some urge people have, to put people down for the stereotypical idea that games are for nerds, so if u play them, you have no life. Dormado
Let the haters live, you must understand their life too: They have to get atleast some compensation, they have to win in some way, or they will get mad. Those people are the people that tend to cry irl when losing a fight to lower lvls, or not being able to achieve the lvls wanted, they would get crushed but instead they try to "win" by saying words that "hurt" you. One should not reply to them, but not react to them aswell, - u won the more difficult fight - getting that desired level, or getting that pvp kill - now let them compensate their pitiful souls by trying to win "word battle". The clock is ticking, and your time is running out, mortals.
kingbrooks
Although there are a lot of them not everybodys an [wagon] hole. It's human nature to be an [wagon] (be better than the other guy) and everyone is in one way or another, it's just that some people are [wagon] in different ways to others. For example you get [wagon] who flame you for playing runescape, and you get [wagon] who won't talk to you if your not in the A team for sports. When it comes to friends, choose your [wagon] wisely ;) EDIT: If some-one else said that, I think I would siggy it  Best Rubik's cube time solve: 27.81 seconds.Completed Facebook Tetris Marathon (670k score)2000+ total with 5 99's, fletching, cooking, attack, thieving and firemaking

No_99_Melee
First of all I hate Fred and his annoying [wagon] squeaky voice, so that's why I'd put him down for even a great accomplishment. Second of all... I didn't know Fred was working hard to please us. Seriously you should play the game for fun not for recognition.
kingbrooks
People over the internet feel that they can say more than in reality, I think we have all had times where you would happily of punched the guy on the other screen in the face. The internet lets scrawny 5"2 people feel powerful and almost everyone abuses this power, and we seem to think that abusing some-one makes you feel better. Patr1ck
The simplest answer that I can give, is that people do it out of envy and jealousy, or just to make themselves feel good. It's a simple fact of life, Some one doesn't have something that their neighbor does, so they want it. Just ignore the idiotic people that do these things.
