What if the people replying to him replied with "gj gratz" it would been like:

 

"Fred was filled with joy... and then he became president"?

 

 

 

No I'm not saying that this was a pivatol role in the life of Fred but he still just wanted to show others what he had done. What if Fred wasn't even trying to gloat or brag? What if he just wanted to show people that he endured countless hours of slaying and had finally aquired the cape that he thought was the coolest in the game?

I dont usually experience that problem that much. There are by far much worse. If it does happen its by such incredibly low stat people that its obviously ignorance and it doesnt bother me. Ditto with other things that I know about but others dont. Knowledge > Not knowing.

 

 

 

I mean once upon a time I didnt understand training skills beyond 99 but its pretty much the norm for me now.. I get alot questions but its cool as I didnt understand it at one point in my life. Besides I just say 'I wanna' and they say 'lol then its all over and done with. I dont usually experience negative opinions.

 

 

 

As for those who bash others achievements it really must be down to ignorance + jealousy. Some just like to hate. It seems impossibe to achieve alot of things but once you do you want more. Well some people do.

 

 

 

Things like youtube comments is because its the internets. If someone uploads a youtube video they cant really intimidate those who post. Meaning people do what they want without fear. That and many of the people are children.. Children can be brats. Its the same in rl.

I once read something about games; 'everyone who is a higher lvl than you has no life, and everyone who has a lower lvl than you is a noob'. I think this is kinda true, Fred and Jack both have a higher lvl/editing skills than the people flaming them so therefore... They have 'no life'.

 

 

 

I have played alot of other MMORPGs and runescape is the only one they totally overuse the word "noob".

1: Some people have well paying jobs and can put in 60 hours of runescape a week. They have an active social life and manage a healthy body weight and eat well. Do these people have no life?

They post for the same reason I am: boredom. People think it's fun to abuse other people, and doing it online (Like countless others have said) gives you that same sense of joy without the physical consequences. Even if they felt that way about Fred's accomplisment, they probably wouldn't be browsing youtube for rs videos to spam and insult if they weren't bored out of their skull (I guess they need a life :lol: ).

Well, yeah of course it wasn't worth it if his goal was trying to actually accomplish something useful but he had fun during the time he played, its OK right? Which is the whole purpose of Runescape, not so you can work more which is what some people seem to think. You say that Fred had to "endure" countless hours of slaying but thats implying that he did not enjoy getting the skillcape but rather did it because he wants to be a "hard worker" in which case it really is a waste of time because there are really productive ways of working hard and playing computer games isn't one of them.

 

 

 

Personally i think its a waste of time, i mean 3 hours every day for several months, thats heaps; i mean, he went through all that "hard work" just so he could have a Skill cape that doesn't really do much... Not all people consider that to be a great "accomplishment", and although you can expect people to show common courtesy you can't expect them to be impressed by your accomplishment you know?? All he did was play Runescape, after all, i mean i barely have enough time to go on the computer for an hour during weekdays and i don't even have a job. And guys, just because people don't think its a great accomplishment doesn't mean they are automatically "jealous". How so? His 99 doesn't tell me that he is better looking or more athletic or smarter than me so i don't know what i'm supposed to be jealous of. Of course, flaming is still wrong, just trying to say that just because i don't think it is a good accomplishment doesn't mean that i'm evil. I just don't think its amazing, thats all.

Standard 9-5 5 days a week job plus 15 minutes travel time (41 hours and 15 minutes)

 

7 hours sleep per day (49 hours)

 

1 hour eating and/or preparing food per day (7 hours)

 

30 minutes exercise per day (3 hours 30 minutes)

 

30 minutes pooping, peeing, bathing, cleaning teeth, getting dressed per day (3 hours 30 minutes)

104 hours and 15 minutes

this is what i have been wondering for years, i started runescape at seven years at 7 allot of kids in school thought runescape was dumb and i was somehow a nerd for playing it, then my first account was hacked (level 37, i was SO sad) and i quit until i was 12, when i went back runescape had changed alt but the general view of it at my school hadn't. i was skill ridiculed and called a loser for playing it but i just got over it, however allot of my friends who liked playing runescape eventually caved in to peer pressure and stopped, to them runescape "wasn't worth being uncool", the worst part though is that my mom considers it a waist of time and thinks me playing it is bad for me (but books are sooo much better right, i have only read 100's of them) even though the place we are living in now provides very few compelling opportunity's to do much else. when it comes down to it though something is only a waist if you consider it to be (for the most part) and if you truly enjoy something enough to go far in it you should be proud of it.

Actually, i have barely enough free time to go on the computer for 1 hour a day, this is a normal day although its always a little different because i have swimming at different times

 

 

 

7:00 wake up and shower and get ready and go to school

 

3:50 arrive at home and eat

 

4:00 do homework

 

5:20 i have swimming 8 times a week for an hour

 

6:30 go on the computer

 

7:30 eat

 

8:00 practice piano

 

9:00 practice violin

 

9:30 practice guitar... which i consider more of a hobby seeing as i'm only doing it for fun not to pass my grade exams or become an awesome guitarist but its still productive i guess?

 

 

 

The weekends are actually worse because thats when i have my musical lessons plus i always go to the mall with my friends and this is on top of swimming which i have twice on Saturday so yeah... my point is that there are more productive ways of spending your time than playing Runescape- especially considering, after reading most of these posts, that Fred didn't even enjoy playing Runescape but did it because he enjoys working hard; i am supposed to be jealous, because apparently he is a harder worker than me!

I am jealous because he can "endure" more "pain" and "boredom"? Wtf? If thats the case, fred truly did waste his time- he, as you said yourself was "able to waste more of his life". The only purpose Runescape exists is so we can have fun and if Fred did not have fun, but rather played Runescape because he wanted to work hard, even if it meant extreme boredom, which i hardly believe, than his time was wasted, because he neither accomplished anything or had fun. BTW, flaming is still bad just reminding people that just because i don't think it was a great accomplishment doesn't mean i'm an "[wagon]" or "jealous".

Also, as one of those working people with a decent job, a healthy BMI and a relatively active life, I can vouch for the impossibility of putting in 60 hours of RS/week. I consider putting in 7/14 hours a week quite good.
