Needaname
Ok, i have had this discussion with a lot of people this days, i say: ''Did you know AFK is vs the rules?'' ''No it isn't'' ''Yeah it falls under Macro rules'' ''No, thats not true'' ''Yes it is'' ''No im not using any 3rd party software'' ''BLA BLA BLA'' I keep saying yeah, i even show them where it says it... (Btw here is where it falls: http://www.runescape.com/rules/rule_thi ... are.ws#afk) THEY STILL, Dont hear me! They think they must using a 3rd party software to be reported on it. So what i can do? (You can move this to General if theres any ''discussion value'' here, but i think theres another topic on this alredy.)
Bassy
Just report them and move on. We really can't do anything about it until they either make a big statement or make Lumbridge Castle a multi-combat area. Let them think they're being epic with that astounding 6k xp/hr until they finally get banned for it. :shame: Click Here for a Common Sense Dungeoneering Guide

mister_moocky
Nothing. Some people don't know things, and don't want to know things. Just report them and move on. We really can't do anything about it until they either make a big statement or make Lumbridge Castle a multi-combat area. Let them think they're being epic with that astounding 6k xp/hr until they finally get banned for it. :shame: 1) If someone is talking to the OP, then obviously they are not AFK, and shouldn't be reported for macroing (it looks like this is what you're sayint) they should be reported for encouraging rule breaking. 2) The rules simply state that you can't be away from the keyboard while playing Runescape. If you have a computer beside your bed and are sleeping, your are still at the keyboard. Or, someone could simply have public off and be playing. You have no way of knowing if they are breaking the rules. 3) Firestrike splashing on spiders is over 150k xp/h of actual playing time assuming you can make 500k an hour to pay for the runes. 4) Reports for AFKing don't do much, because as I stated there is no way of knowing if someone is actually AFK. I got about 6.3m magic experience (82-95) firestriking desert lizards with an enchanted water tiara (this is the best way of non-attention magic training by the way, since you hit 1 every time giving 2 extra xp per cast) and was reported at least once, without repercussions. Rightfully so as I wasn't doing anything wrong, but my behaviour was identical to someone who was actually AFK. quit
dilloncyh
How about if I fell asleep? Jagex ban my ac cuz I fell asleep? And move to quiet place to afk then no one will find u and report u right?
michel555555
its sad that they always go to spiders. i mean with all those mind runes for fire strike you could go to salarin get like 4x the xp per hr and also make millions from his drops. [spoiler=click you know you wanna]Me behave? Seriously? As a child I saw Tarzan almost naked, Cinderella arrived home from a party after midnight, Pinocchio told lies, Aladin was a thief, Batman drove over 200 miles an hour, Snow White lived in a house with seven men, Popeye smoked a pipe and had tattoos, Pac man ran around to digital music while eating pills that enhanced his performance, and Shaggy and Scooby were mystery solving hippies who always had the munchies. The fault is not mine! if you had this childhood and loved it put this in your signature!

The thing is killing salarin is that also you cant really "AFK" him as much cause you would have to reclick him every time he respawns as opposed to the click and wait (eat, sleep, read watch TV... etc.) method of spiders or desert lizards. Mike_Ike111
Well it's unlikely you will get banned for AFK training either way. Jagex has no proof that you were not at your computer.
Cptbaker08
How about if I fell asleep? Jagex ban my ac cuz I fell asleep? And move to quiet place to afk then no one will find u and report u right? If you fall asleep why playing RS, you sir have more serious problems at hands. If you use that as an excuse to apeal a ban and i worked for Jagex, i would 1) laugh at your lame excuse then 2) Say "i'm sorry but we still find you guilty of being AFK". I hope that "mod friend" was a Jagex Mod if that was his argument. If it was a Jagex Mod, then they have miscommunication. The rules do say it is illegal to AFK. But there really is no way to prove it. It's a sketchy topic, if you feel you must do something report them for Macroing and move on. Maybe action will be taken, maybe it won't. X3EN
I've also had a chat with Paul on this issue. He wasn't up-to-date on RuneScape rules, so he said (citation!): However, when I pointed out that: 1) They do not want the spider to die (trying to get a huge negative mage attack bonus) 2) The number of such players increased, now even lvl 110+ players do it 3) Some stand in the bank spot, as if they are hiding something (they don't want to be identified? that means they already think they are reportable) In conclusion, Paul stated that "this is definitely something we wouldn't want players doing" and that this is reportable under Macroing. P.S. However, if you see a talking "afker", do not report him, but warn him that he acts very much like an afker. If he decides to continue, don't say anything else and enjoy knowing he will be banned thanks to WBMs. R.I.P. oO000oO0oO00, RS2 range pure transformed to a maxed PvM char in EoC, ten years of time completely wasted.Good to be gone :)
hihihi727
Well i used to fire stirke spiders... but i wasn't afk! Just because they are fire striking spiders doesn't mean they are AFK. I did it because i had to do some homework and i had a ton of spare fire/mind runes, but i still looked at the screen and talked in the clan chat i was in. Just so you know, there are two types of AFK; one is really afking where you sleep and leave the computer on or something like that; the other one is where you multitask and browse forums and watch videos ect. while playing Runescape, which isn't against the rules, people just call it "afk" because they don't know what else to call it, even though they are still on the computer, just on a different tab or window. So when that guy said that afking is OK, he probably meant the second version, especially considering he was replying to you so he obviously couldn't have been sleeping or something. At any rate, i honestly don't see why you care so much.
