paul_wilson
Disgruntled Ipod Nano owners are attempting to sue Apple because the screens and cases of the new ipods are scratching and cracking. Ipod offered to replace all faults units free-of-charge but that seems to not be enough. I say that scratches and cracks in the screen is the peoples own fault. After spending 300$+ on a device why not spend the extra 20$ on a protective case. If someone puts there Ipod in there pocket with there keys and it scrathes the screen why should Apple pay for there stupidity. whats other people thoughts? First and only pixel thinger I made. DarkRider
somebody dropped their iPod down the stairs one day and scratched it, Apple are replacing it with a brand new one for free, because of the customer's clumsiness. What the hell else do they want? Wow, i hate people.
Mercifull
My iPod is a little bit scratched and scraped. Its ferfectly natural wear and tear. My car has a few scratches in it but im not about to sue Peugeot for making shoddy cars. Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. How2PK
Most products risk to get scratched when used. I don't see why somebody should [edit]wrong word used[/edit] sue Apple if an I-pod product gets scratched. What the hell else do they want? Wow, i hate people. Uuuh. No. The iPod Nano is ridiculously easy to scratch. An incredible amount of people are complaining about it. So I think Apple did something wrong here. People should have waited for the second generation nano. :P
assassin_696
It depends on the degree of scratching. When i got my pristine new iPod i was naturally horrified when i saw the first few signs of scratching, but now i'm not too bothered, you notice them less and less, it's only natural, and as long as it doesn't affect the quality of the music it doesn't bother me one bit. However, if on the nano, the screen was breaking so easily that it must have been a design flaw, then i don't see why they shouldn't refund the cost, but if it was simply clumsiness on behalf of the owner then they shouldn't. Guest GhostRanger
I was reading about the lawsuit in TheInquirer.net and read this as well: APPLE is also being sued by the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. The case was filed 30 September 2005. But the judge in the case, John F. Walker, signed an order last week demanding that Apple had to reply to a subpoena served no later than 24th of October after it failed to respond to the original subpoena. Now I wonder what THATS about. (For those non-Americans: The US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission is the group that makes sure no one is discriminating against anyone in hiring policies. Their signs are hung up on the wall of every place you might work in America.)

I got a call from some guy at statscan (Statistics Canada) and he had me take a phone survey. He couldn't read English, whenever he read "provincial deficit", he said "provincial deflect"... yeah... but if they didn't hire him, they'd get a slue of "Omg!!11!1 The Canadian government is full of bigots!!". So needless to say I just gave random answers for the entire survey :P
Necromagus
That makes absolutely no sense at all. Why should Apple have to pay for the effects of normal wear and tear? Pete_the_Viscous
It's like all those accident claim adverts that sprang up a while ago. Scratches don't just appear of their own accord: there has to be something doing the scratching. I mentioned common sense?! I tell you now, no joke, that my friend (upon telling him when drunk that the nano is bullet proof) through his nano out of his car at 50mph, ala that article someone posted on these forums 3-4 weeks ago. Not a scratch to the screen, nano still works perfectly. It makes me wonder just what the hell these people keep in their pockets and/or how they grip their nano to royally smeg it up. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.

Hmm, maybe certain people feel screwed because they bought a Nano while the new "I-pod" with video etc. is comming out soon aswell, therfore they grabbed the keys too their house and started abusing the I-pod Nano to sue the company and get money for a new I-pod. :D Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!
