Kriegsmier
Anyone else running 2 or more monitors on their computer? I just made the switch to 2 and WOW. 1 seems boring now. I'm running dual 24" Samsung 2494sw widescreens at a combined 3840 x 1080 resolution. Amazing, can't wait to add another to my setup already. Feel free to post your own pics and stuff, i'd love to see what other people are running. I'll add some more screens of other games as I get them. ElkNight
Yeah, once I switched to two I can't stand using only one. I have no reason for three though. 8,180WONGTONG IS THE BEST AND IS MORE SUPERIOR THAN ME#1 Wongtong stalker.Im looking for some No Limit soldiers! Kriegsmier
I only want 3 to game on. Bigger field of view, nothing can sneak up on you ;) I'd never use more then 2 for internet/general computing purposes.
Wongtong
Hrm, do you have to drag your mouse along a long way before it gets onto the other monitor? (if that makes sense) 8,180WONGTONG IS THE BEST AND IS MORE SUPERIOR THAN ME#1 Wongtong stalker.Im looking for some No Limit soldiers!
Laura
Hrm, do you have to drag your mouse along a long way before it gets onto the other monitor? (if that makes sense)Depends on your resolution, but not really. My laptop has a 1280x800 resolution and my external monitor is 21.5" at 1080x1920. I had a third monitor (17", I don't remember the resolution) hooked up using a USB port, but the lag got to me so I disconnected it. It would be okay for keeping a something like a music player on there, but it was too slow even for word processing. So now I'm left with two displays, which is good enough for me at the moment. Kriegsmier
I do have to drag my mouse across both screens, but there is hardly any input lag so its very fast and very smooth. I hardly notice it.
Will H
I agree, multiple monitors will revolutionise how you use your computer. There's something deeply satisfying in placing different windows in different screens as opposed to flicking through them individually. I am a proud user of a triple 19" monitor array, and I think I'll always use at least two monitors in the future. [spoiler=My Computer (Copied from Tech Pics Sticky)] Admittedly, playing most games over more monitors don't really work because the graphics usually aren't designed to cope with such a freakishly large screen. Runescape just about manages it, but it's a bit too laggy for me because one screen is running off integrated graphics. It might be acceptable with two discrete graphics cards. There's also the disorientation factor, but I've never tried it for a really long time to see whether I can get over it or not. Kriegsmier
Nice will. Yeah once I upgrade to 3 monitors i'll be using 2 GFX cards in Sli and a triplehead2go.
RSBDavid
I love dual monitors. The user Sloter has a quad-monitor set up with two on top and two on bottom. Speaking of monitors, do the curved ones from alienware use one DVI/VGA port? If they did, can you imagine staking two of those and running duals like that? EDIT: WOW on two monitors: Screen shot:[hide=pic][/hide] Camera shot:[hide=pic][/hide] [software Engineer] - [Ability Bar Suggestion] - [Gaming Enthusiast]
Nadril
I've got dual monitors (22" widescreen and a 17" but 1920x1200 laptop screen). I want to get a new 24" monitor for Christmas, I need to figure out if a DVI to VGA adapter would stop interference from the laptop battery though. (I use the hdmi port for my main monitor, if I got a new one I'd want to use both large monitors). If anyone knows if it would I'd appreciate it. Will H
Nice will. Yeah once I upgrade to 3 monitors i'll be using 2 GFX cards in Sli and a triplehead2go. Cheers, but be warned. The triplehead2go tells your OS that you have a really wide single monitor as opposed to three monitors in a row. This means that maximising windows will cause it to fill all three screens instead of the screen it's covering most. That's great for some games, but will really damage your experience for browsing and using most other programs. ~ W ~
Rainy_Day
I sometimes use an additional screen with my laptop, but not often. It's a 24" Dell flatscreen monitor. If I am doing many things (browsing forums, msn, playing a game etc) then I will plug the other in, otherwise I'll just stick to the one. It begins to hurt my eyes after a while (even with the brightness turned down). :P ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)RIP Michaelangelopolous
shawn3090
I only use 1 monitor. 1 is enough for me sadly. BTW why does everyone play games with no light sources besides the monitor? Kriegsmier
Its easier to see for me! No glares on the screen from any extra lights in the room. So I work during the week away from my setup right now and have to use my laptop. Let me tell you, its CRAZY how you get used to 2 monitors. I find using my laptop a PAIN now because I don't have enough screen space, I feel cramped. I'll never go back to using just 1.

____
Q to those who play games fs/max over both monitors... how the hell do you put up with having a 1"+ chunk missing from the display?
Bauke
I have a 19" non-widescreen and a 22" widescreen. I never want to run on one monitor again. Whenever I have to use a pc at work I always miss the second monitor. Too bad a lot of fullscreen windows lose focus when you click outside the window. A lot of programs and operating systems have failed to see the opportunities for extra features when applied to multiple monitors, the fullscreen focus thing being the most annoying. It actually surprises me how much Microsoft has overlooked this field, considering how many of it's employees use dual/triple/quad monitor arrays. ~ W ~
Hobgoblinpie
I have two monitors (well, one monitor and a TV rigged up as a monitor), and it's pretty good. Although, i have an issue with the monitor not supporting it's native resolution properly. It definitely improves things, and I hate using computers at college now. I use my TV for watching movies/notes/WinAMP, and use the monitor for games and work. POH Agility Course, Please Support!
Jernlov
I've ordered two 1080p displays as my Christmas present. Hugely looking forward to using them as it's going to be a massive step up from 1280*1024. What I ordered; I'll take pics when I get them and set them up. Kriegsmier
Q to those who play games fs/max over both monitors... how the hell do you put up with having a 1"+ chunk missing from the display? I'd only play games with 3 screens for this very reason. 3 screens take out that chunk and put it on the center monitor. Right now I just use one screen to game the other to look up strategy or browse the net/use vent/messenger programs. Nice Silver, you'll like it I promise :P
