Jen purchases the rope for 7 gold pieces. Then she returns to her home, and attempts to tie Wubbles with the rope, the other end in a loop which Jen could stick her hand through (sorta like a leash, except it's not around Wubbles neck). She tests to see if Wubbles can escape.

 

Then she tries to fashion a stroller out of ice using her ice dagger, and using her magic to form the ice.

Igos and Archarnis begin to set up the strange device. At the top of the sun tower, the base is set up. The convex lens is secured to the base. In a small chamber in the sun tower below the top, Archarnis tries making a mini-sun, and positions the other mirror so that it will reflect light into thet lens. Then the handles are placed on the convex lens.

Grim-

She is a quiet woman. She gestures for you to take a seat opposite her. She hands you a cup of strong tea. "Drink this! And as you do so, hold in your mind the thing to which you would know an answer!" As you drain the cup, she takes it from you and begins to look into the dregs....

 

After a moment, she speaks.... "You see that the symbols are clearly in a clockwise spiral within the cup. Events are moving toward you rapidly! Things will be happening very soon!" She pores closely over the contents of the cup. "I see the following things, in order of the time they should become significant in the future... Oh! Perhaps that is a glyph on the bottom, representing a change. A harp foreshadowing romance., May the gods protect us! We should consider that important glyph by the rim. The square foretelling the need for caution!, The symbol of a rabbit foreshadowing bravery is significantly close to the rim., What? Look! Here is a minor glyph far from the rim. It's significance is not great, but be aware of it. I mean the snake telling of an enemy nearby., I...I think...Do not ignore this rune on the bottom, representing a change. I refer to the open purse telling of financial gain., The glyph of an apple which means prosperity, achievement is of lesser significance to due it's distance from the rim., " She is silent for a long time, concentrating. "My training allows me to see the significant rune close to the rim. I mean the teapot which speaks of friends. The symbols are in a clear line. Fate has laid your path, and there is little you can do to change it, though there may be much we do not know...."

Jen-

Wubbles doesn't like the rope and tries to take it off, then eat it.

I thank her for her generosity and as I leave slip her 200 gold pieces as thanks.

Archarnis doesn't seem to make much progress.

Ares creates several orbs of light, along with lighting the torch and creating a shield of darkness around himself.

Grim-

She thanks you and you head off again...Into the unknown.

As you wander along you recognize the area you were attacked last time and the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end.

Archarnis continues trying at the mini-sun. In the meanwhile, Igos tries using the device from just using the sun's rays. He aims the device at a flock of birds flying overhead.

Ares creates the lightballs and summons the shield, as well as lights the torch.

Wubbles likes eating doesn't she!

 

 

Jen asks Wubbles to wait. Then Jen sits down and puts Wubbles right in front of her, seeing if Wubbles understands or not whether to wait and stay.

 

 

Afterwards, if Wubbles stays, then Jen starts reading some books about random stuff, including ice magic to her.

Archarnis fails again.

The birds screech out and scatter in the sky.

I summon an illusionary copy of myself with aid from my dilithium armor. I then attempt to make myself appear invisible. Finally I attempt to switch to thermal vision.

Ares enters the cave, checking for traps and such along the way.

Wubbles seems to understand, though reaches for 'Mama' after a few seconds.

 

Wubbles seems not to want to eat the book this time, and seems to listen. 5 minutes.

(Aw, no spontaneous combustion? :P)

Igos goes to scout out the goblin camp. Archarnis tries again with the mini-sun.

Grim-

Your illusion doesn't look perfect, but would probably do. You are invisible and you switch to thermal imaging.

I have the illusion walk on ahead while I scout the area looking for hot spots in any shape.

Ares-

As you enter the cave you find a large iron hook driven into the wall, attached to which is a line of string.

Igos-

Low roll...

Archarnis Fails

Igos goes to the Quarry but there seems to be no one there.

Grim-

You don't see anything of concerning.

Ares sends one of the light orbs along the rope, to see where it leads.

Igos carefully continues to look around. Archarnis meets up with him and helps scout.

Ares-

It stretches down this corridor and disappears round a corner.

Archarnis spots some tracks in the mud which could be Goblin Prints.
