You begin putting ticks into the portal, which disappear. You have a feeling you might need some special knowledge or a ritual to make replicators.

The silver dust doesn't penetrate the spiders. Most of the spiders are impaled by the spikes. Suddenly the room grows dark, making it impossible to see more than twenty feet in front of you.

 

-Earth

 

You dive into the tunnel until you arrive in a smaller room, though still rather sizeable, with only a single portal in the middle and some rubble on the side. The spiders seem dead already, and the rest scurry away. The room turns unnaturally dark.

i have my skeletons pull their bows taunt with an assortment of magic arrows, while i try to summon an acid spirit to assist me.

No, replicators eat technology, these eat lifeforce.

 

Håkon attempts to create a quartz orb and charge it with force and lightning magic so that it works like a flying camera, then send it in for a sweep then come back.

I withdraw the silver dust and re-coat my polemace, before creating a half-circle stone shield around the Mage's back. I stand near him, ready to repel attacks, and strengthen the orb of light next to me.

though you do have to admit, it will keep the undead away. rocco, why dont you use solarmancey attacks? theyll do more dmaage with the glass cloud around here.

Igos goes to a local smith, asking about cannons.

An acid spirit of any power seems out of your reach, especially in the stressful situation. (There's a penalty for being in a stressful situation and summoning)

The energy you put in is leached out by the air, and disappears. A terrifying image burns itself onto your retina, and you drop to the ground in fear.

 

-Nex

 

You're visited by a vision of all the worst things happening to the world, and you feel terrible all of a sudden. A strange cloud of darkness in a terrifying visage appears in front of you, and prepares to strike.

 

-Rocco

 

You fly up in your balloon, though no enemies seem to be coming along yet. However, you spot a dust storm from the Northwest, and a cloud of darkness from the Northeast.

 

-Igos

 

Cannons? We could make one, but it wouldn't be of any good use. Gnomes and dwarves, they're the ones to ask about cannons.

i start shooting, and so do my skeletons. if that doesnt work, then i put away my bow, and start playing my music. (and slashing the cloud thingy.)

Igos looks for another smith that might know more (the residents of Caster used cannons, and since they were absorbed into Ikana, there should be some left). After doing so, he checks to see how large this dust cloud is exactly. If it is a threat, he asks for the help from a mage to blow the cloud away.

Nex, get out, NOW!!!

 

Håkon straightens up, covering himself in low-voltage lightning, keeping his mind clear he slowly levitates, the lightning growing, and charging up.

I call on the gods to shield my mind, and yell: "Nianra kes Atlayum! (United we will stand against evil)" and turn my armour spike into a massive spike jutting from my hand, which I drive into the shadow.

I also draw away Mather's electricity into myself, adding power (at the cost of all exp gained during this campaign) to the lightning and concentrating it on the spike.

Nex, don't, I'm gonna zap the entire Atlantis with that charge!

The arrows pass harmlessly through the cloud, which then begins crushing your mind. Thankfully, you only sustain minor damage.

You float aimlessly to the northwest. The ring seems to be some sort of membership ring into an organization, though you have no clue what that organization is. Finally, you encounter a large mountain range spiralling up from the dust. You spot a large army, with some very large creatures you recognize as Oliphants. Their tusks as long as twice a man, their height of a troll, and much longer too. They seem to be carrying battle platforms, with dozens of trained archers ontop. A few have siege weapons as well.

You find a team of smith refugees from Caster, who begin working on some cannons for you. The cloud seems massive, covering the whole region. The mages tell you that they can try to blow it away, but there's a chance it could backfire and create a hail of glass, or even worse, molten glass rain.

 

-Hakon

 

You start levitating and charging epically, before the creature breaks your concentration with a terrifying and ghastly image, making you fall to the ground. It begins crushing your mind.

 

-Nex

 

The more you beg, the darker the shadow seems to become. You charge at the shadow and slam into the wall behind it. Suddenly you feel a tremendous pressure on your mind, and memories spiral around your vision.

Exactly. I haven't died yet, and my first death might as well be a worthy one. My armour is essentially a huge conductor, and I'm calling on the (good) gods with a personal sacrifice.

[Earth]

eh, i try to weaken it with light. i keep throwing light bombs, while making my skeletons shoot arrows made of light.

[Nexaduro]

Dangit. Nevermind, I guess. I drive the orb of light into the shadow and blow it outwards, continuing my prayers. I pull Jen's staff from Iey's hands, and fire all of the charge into the shade.

[Earth]

oh god. retech, USING THE LORD OF THE RINGS? errggggg. as if this wasnt bad enough.

Håkon begins thinking back, to when he and Jen alone destroyed 300 men, to when he tore the Quisitor's jaw of, to when he' Earth and Nex killed the regenerating golem, and then he attempts to fall into deep meditation, thinking about nothing at all.

The light merely illuminates the room, and passes right through the shadow.

The strain of your efforts makes you fall off the balloon, but thankfully you manage to release the parachute.

The orb of light explodes, to no effect on the shadow. Jen's charge has no effect as well. Suddenly you forget how to use Geomancy (temporarily).

You seem to have forgotten those memories, and you begin to forget how to dance.

Just noting that Hannibal of Carthage also used platforms ontop of Elephants, while crossing the Alps. Any historical similarities there?
