[Earth]

GOD DAMNIT RETECH. i dont even ahve arrows, all i have are magic arrows. and i said next to the barrel. i try to heal the child. and then i continue working on my mask. (also, the arrow was supost to be made with a very wea brand of necro. shouldve specified.)

[Nexaduro]

I walk outdoors and smash in Earth's head with my mace. I then sit down, without my weapons, and heal the child.

[Retech]

You charge another fire spell. Suddenly the three people swoop in with their respective creatures and fly next to you. You recognize them as Jen, in a half-death state, and her two living sisters. They all seem to have grown stronger, especially the older sisters using white magic and dark magic respectively...wielding white elm staffs.

 

"So how have you been, Grim?" they all ask in unison.

 

-Earth

 

(That's why I said accidentally, meaning you got a terrible roll and missed)

 

The necro arrow seems to be eating away at the child, and your healing does not go. Suddenly the child's parents run out of their shack and whack you on the head with a cooking pan, knocking you out cold.

 

-Nex

 

You smash in Earth's head, who is already unconcious, with your mace. Your healing seems futile, because Earth's necro arrow seems very deadly for once.

[Earth]

... i hate it when i try to do something. it always turns out wrong. whatever. i try to wake up, expecting to be disarmed, tortured, yada yada yada.

[Grim_]

Grim replies "Good how are you?" and also asks what exactly is going on with the whole oliphaunt horde.

[Jehosaphat]

Kemios tries to launch a couple of rocks into the undead horde with his trebuchet.

[Nexaduro]

I bury Earth under the ground, and apologize to the parents. I tell them that I will help them in any way they would like, and that unfortunately the mans arrow could not be healed.

[Retech]

-Earth

 

You awaken on a rickety bridge. When you get up, you realize that you are directly above the boiling crater of the massive volcano.

 

-Grim

 

"We're good, thanks. We're going to take down this oliphant horde. They come from the far western reaches of the known lands. The horde is formed of desert nomads and plainsmen who gather oliphants for the desert nomads, who pay them in gold. Are you coming along?"

 

-Kemios

 

The undead horde has been washed away by the Lichten leader's powerful magic already.

 

-Nex

 

The rest of the villagers, numbering around five dozen come out of their shelters. You wonder how they could fit so many people in such little space. Finally one of the elders step forward and pokes you in the chest with his cane.

 

"Explain yourself."

[Earth]

i look around, and check that i have my wepons.

[Grim_]

Grim replies "I would love to help you lovely ladies out" and asks what he should do.

[Jehosaphat]

Kemios goes hunting.

[Nexaduro]

"I came here with the incompetent fool who accidentally shot the child, along with a cleric and Ivory Mage. We came through a portal in our world, through which creatures of unimaginable evil have been pouring. Have you... um... seen any monsters of late? The man who shot the child is a would-be acid mage and necromancer, and probably the most volatile individual I know, but unfortunately we felt his assistance was needed to stem the tide of monsters. Also, he is... special... and cannot die permanently. Our other companions, occupied defending a human settlement, will likely shun him more now than they did before. He didn't really mean to shoot the child, he just has horrible aim and his arrows didn't explode in his face for once."

 

I try to channel 3/4s of my life into healing the child, as well as half the exp I've gained so far in the campaign.

[Earth]

nex. i am not volatile. the arrows never hav exploded in my face. my aim is sucky, and the dice hate me.

[Ieyfura]

Awakening from yet another walking slumber, I find I had subconsciously wondered to the river side, the plants around me neatly picked and placed in my pouches for later analysis. I hear the activity nearby before I see it. Hope of a peaceful negotiations dies when I see the arrow eating away at the child. Flexing my mind I try to sense if I have any magical lifeforce within me that is not yet spent.

[Retech]

-Earth

 

You make your way off the bridge, and begin searching around. All you can find are rivers of lava, and the occasional landslide.

 

-Grim

 

Elizabeth, the white mage, begins running down the plan.

 

"Okay, here's the plan. You're going to hold Jen's hand, and jump right into the enemy lines. Meanwhile, Isabelle and I will stay on our mounts, and deal the damage."

 

Jen nods and turns to you.

 

"Hey, you know I'm a void mage now, right? :)"

 

Your team nears the target, and Jen prepares to jump.

 

-Kemios

 

You encounter a deactivated golem behind a tree.

 

-Nex

 

"Leave her, the child will die. In this land, death is more common than life, and we can never heal of our wounds. However, you have a debt you must repay. A group of Liches has settled along the fertile riverbank and begun farming with their undead workers, pushing us off our land. Now we live a destitute life. Can you promise us, that someday you will remove them and rid the evil from our land?"

 

-Iey

 

(You're in a community, not quite at the riverbank yet.)

 

You detect that you have plenty of life force left.

[Earth]

i look to see if i have been disarmed, and i again start on my mask

[Grim_]

Grim mutters "great" and prepares to jump with jen

[Nexaduro]

I nod grimly.

"Your plight is much the same as ours. An army of Liches and their minions are one of the numerous forces invading our town, Ikana."

 

I begin looking around with Iey, trying to find a source of magic.

[Ieyfura]

Despite the words of the townfolk, I kneel beside the child. My hands start weaving a steady stream of white whisps into the wounds of the dying child.

[Jehosaphat]

Kemios looks to see what deactivated the golem, as well as what type of golem it is, how big it is, and whether or not it would be reprogrammable.

[Retech]

(Last roll, sleepy time for me)

 

-Earth

 

You find everything on your person, but you realize that you died, but your respawn changed because of the massive magical power of the volcano. You finish your mask, which looks rather strange, but has the nice property of protecting your eyes from flying lava. :thumbup:

 

-Grim

 

The two of you jump, landing rather smoothly in the middle of the enemy army, which is primarily composed of light spearmen and axemen. You smash a few away out of instinct, while Jen displays her new prowess with Void magic by levitating a dozen warriors around you, and sending them careening into the spears of their comrades.

 

"Jen six, Grim two. Heh."

 

Meanwhile, Elizabeth begins working her white magic on the nearby mountain, while Isabelle, the dark magician, handily disentigrates an oliphant, sending its remains tumbling down on a few dozen more soldiers.

 

"That's fifty for me!"

 

-Nex

 

You remember that the volcano is a great source of magic, but otherwise, you don't find anything.

 

-Iey

 

You begin healing the wounds of the dying child, before she begins to sweat fervishly. You continue, thinking that it is a natural reaction to healing, before she promptly explodes in a shower of white sparks. The village elder looks at you curiously.

 

"You're not like one of them, are you? There's something different about you."

 

-Kemios

 

It seems the golem strayed too far from its pack. It seems like a regular stone golem, but it seems much harder and more resistant...for some reason. It doesn't seem to heed programming.

[Earth]

fff. what did i lose? (also, im trying to be an enchanted mask maker. lol, thats going to take quite a while)

[Jehosaphat]

Dang, session over.

 

I'm thinking about sticking the diamond in this golem, sending it into the middle of an enemy army, and then detonating it via sprinkling the silver dust around it from above. Good idea? Bad idea?

Way to hook my curiosity at the end there Retech lol.

That is assuming the enemy army is not already completely destroyed by the time you get there :twisted:
