It looks very beautiful, although I bet those who are suffering from power outages and car wrecks aren't going to agree with me.

We were going to have a "major" ice storm last night, but it never happened. The Arctic Blast over North America missed us by a few counties. :(

errrm, global warming would mean england gets colder :P one of the things they rely on often is the flipping of the gulf stream, which would bring england to finland/norway type climate

Torne apart between 2 worlds, with loves, dangers and worries in both. Can I be worth it?

Looks nice, but for us English it means transport systems become lax, workers 'can't' make their way to work, so a lot of things stop. We aren't really suited to deal with snow in this country. Ahwell, nice on my days off to sit inside with the warm and watch the snow. It has been settled for a couple of days now.

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Didn't we go over the fact the Global Warming is a lie?

Global Warming causes extreme temperatures in both HOT AND COLD.

Wongton is better than me in anyway~~

1. Climate change. Not global warming.

2. Singular events don't disprove trends. Weather and climate aren't synonyms, therefore snow doesn't mean colder climate.

1. Well kind of. Global warming would make many northern countries get colder because the melting ice causing cold air to go south. The globe is still getting warmer on average, so it is global warming.

2. You are right there, even if my number one wasn't right Great Britain having a big snow doesn't disprove global warming at all.

You have to remember that global warming is dealing with climates of earth. Climate is defined as... statistics of temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind, rainfall, atmospheric particle count and numerous other meteorological elements in a given region over long periods of time.

Sure, in the U.S right now it's very cold in all parts of the country (Even areas that are in the mid F50's-60's during the winter) but that is weather which is defined as... is a set of all the phenomena occurring in a given atmosphere at a given time.

All I'm saying is that global warming may or may not be true, but you can't define global warming with the weather you see out your window.

Still, even if we aren't really causing this change, we still need to ensure that the Earth stays protected. Especially since we can't travel to other star systems yet. If our planet goes, the entire race goes with it.

Interesting coinky-dink, doncha think? North Ireland also has a lot of ice cover. The Irish Republic doesn't.

Got some awesome photos of some snow covered mountains and ranges whilst out with the dog earlier in the week. Snow makes the scenery in the UK look loads better.

Is there ever a cold day in California? :D

Get back here so I can rub your butt.

Ye-no, wait. Define cold. The coldest days we get were from 35-40sh, but to some of you, it's not cold.

Interestingly enough, last winter was the coldest winter ever. The cold lasted until June. I'm hoping for it again this year.

You're right you guys in England are wimpy about the snow, up here we tend to deal with it like real men  . Only in Scotland would a guy still to the pub in just a shortsleeve shirt (the guy passed my house last night). That being said, it is a pain in the backside, I just hope the train and bus I need on Monday is running.

Edit - Nick, somewhere in the UK it was -17 celcius. I would say that was cold.

If my calculations are right, -17 C is between 0 and 10 Fahrenheit? It's been about the same here, at least in the mornings. Really [bleep]ing cold. Well, in the wind it's bad. After you've felt the wind, the cold that's just standing is nowhere near as bad.
