Ok, a bit of a strange question i have here...

Featured Replies

well i was fighting the level 702 monster today and (the previous time i made it to the healers) I became very very shaky and my heartrate went up like crazy, I could not keep my hand steady and ended up clicking off my ranged prayer and not hitting mage prayer due to the shakyness of my hand, does anyone know any way to stop my hands from shaking?? I found that tapping my feet up and down as if i were hitting to bass drum pedals realyl quickly seemed to help some, but it still wasnt enough..is there any way to stop it so that i can finally kill this thing?

It's due to the fight or flight reflex ingrained in every person, the best bet is to practise some deep breathing techinques

I know the price. I pay it gladly.

Stop playing... that's not healthy.

Sounds like adreniline pumping into the body. Not much you can do for that, its pretty much out of your control, unless you can somehow trick your body into not caring for whats happening. I'd suggest not repeating that situation if you don't like it.

heh, I used to get like that when I played rs and went pking - stopped when I got to a higher lvl and didnt get killed as often though. Yeah I never had any good experiences in the wild :P

I think it is like adreline or something.

sig2ho7.jpg

It's adreline. Unless you can keep yourself calm it isn't going to stop any time soon.

VOV got it pretty much down pat. Just get your breathing under control and the rest usually stays fairly level.

level 702 monster??? so i guess king black dragon isnt anything good anymore. thats the highest thing i remember. actually maybe some sort of queen was higher. cant remember.

sometimes i get that too, although i dont have to be doing anything. i was watching the news one day and my heart started pounding like no other. i thought it was just diabetes or something kicking in from drinking to much pop.

. Adrenaline is a hormone that increases your sensitivity and reaction rate...nothing you can really do about unless you take some kind of drug or something that slows you down lol. Try the slow-breathing idea and listen to some music while you try.

i think u need to take it a little less seriously dude, it's just a game...

On the money there, that's great advice. :)

Listen to some fast music- rock or rap watever suits your taste. I usually tap my feet to the music when i get really excited pking or watever.

Or stop...caring about the game...:|

If you think about it, you spend 2 hours to get to the strongest monster in the game, I really dont take this game that seriously, but when you spend 2 hours to get to that moment to fight something really powerful its just natural that it would occur, you try doing the fight cave and ill bet the same thing happens to you, it happens to alot of people who stake or pk

Yea, it's completely understandable that you get a bit shaky and so. Hell, I got sweaty palms and started trembling when staking a ruby ammy, lol. But when it really starts to get out of hand and you feel scared it might be best to take a 20 minute break from the computer or, calm a bit.

it's an adrenaline rush from putting all your stuff at risk. While it may be "just a game" he probably spent hours upon hours getting his equipment, he sunk his own time into it, therefore it is important to him because his time is important. Also an adrenaline rush isn't a bad thing, it's exciting and invigorating.

To actually answer your question, practice calm, steady breathing. The more you try and kill that monster, the better at it you'll become, the less nervous you will be.

well my friend drinks some pepsie and make him feel better how about you can try that?

Just don't take the game so damn seriously. Only freak out like that when playing MegaMan.

And... Umm... Be sure to watch Ren and Stimpy when you can!

please dont post junk like this, if your not posting something that is answering my question then dont post here. It's called adrenaline, you try fighting for two hours in order to get a chance to fight the strongest monster in the game and tell me you arent nervous....

sorta happened to me when i use to PK in classic.

lvl 1 wild w00t!

it wasnt so much shaking... as it was shivering causing the shaking..

strange when its nice and warm in the house when it happened.

Glad I'm not the only person this happens to.

Inside all of us there are basic instincts to certain events.

He triggered the fight or flight syndrome that causes hesitation and spasms when attempting to distinguish whether he should fight or run.

I personally suffer in games and movies where someone jumps off a large cliff. I have a small adrenaline burst there. Makes me very uncomfortable.

I love that rush feeling. Back when I used to play Runescape i'd get it during pking trips. Id get really angry if i died and would be extatic if I won and id be shaking for ages lol

But when you know that you're about to get something that is worth maybe a few mill, for some people it takes a long time to get that amount of money and when you spend enough time on a game like that, it becomes part of your life, maybe?

For example: Some people play chess over long periods of time, maybe one or two moves a night. What if someone were to come and mess all your board up? Or what if you were about to win? It's only a game, but sometimes your heart races.

New sig to come!

I personally have had the fight or flight situation in Runescape.

A long time ago, I attempted to do the Underground Pass quest.

I was a noob, so it took me several days...alone...

The atmosphere Jagex created there is actually very unnerving. The less food and health I had, I began to breathe harder. I started to lose hope. I was ecstatic when I found the dwarves.

Its just basic instinct.

Yea, do that, lie down and breath slowly and try to get your mind off that. And I advise staying away from that situation if you can't handle it.
