Flyingjj
I have no opinion on it other than it is the most idiotic term I've ever heard. No one actually calls it sexting outside of the media. You're right, I've only heard it called sexting on the news and once on a TV show. Don't think I've ever heard it used in real life.I'm pretty sure I've heard it in real life. Seems like a strange practice to me. Sure, share photos with your significant other, but the odds of it staying within those bounds is highly unlikely in high school. Sharing them is just plain stupid. Real mature. If you want to look at pics of nude people, stick to the internet. Better quality than 3.2 megapixels ftw.
Youmu
If you don't already know about sex by then, you're going to be learning it in health anyways. If anything the whole abstinence deal needs to end, and replaced with people being taught about condoms, birth control, and other things that can be involved in safe sex. I could understand if the law wanted to protect someone who's 14 from someone who's 30+, but having a 14 year old being labeled as a pedophile because of someone who's 15 is just pathetic. The age for these things needs to be adjusted in a way that allows for something like 14-19 to be together/have sex/porn, and 16 + to be legally allowed to do what they want with sex related things.I have to agree with you. The teenage part of life is probably when people think sexual the most, and young couples should be allowed to do those activities safely. Honestly, governments today are too paranoid. Just because it's underaged sex does NOT mean pedo/rape, and unless they become parents it shouldn't go on the news. If I were offered the choice to do it, however, I'm not exactly sure if I would. Others may think differently, though, and I bet most teen couples WILL do it if they had the choice to. i_love_burritos
I approve of this practice and generally encourage it. Haha you're awesome. As for the people going to court, they're just unlucky. It happens a lot each day and they just did something stupid to get caught. Remeber he's 13. [i'm not trolling.] Not real strong opinions on my part, but if it is only between two people, I think it's okay. And Rex, when I was fourteen I thought more about [bleep]ing chocolate milk, than [bleep]ing itself. 14 is too young ...Secondly, the next time you're browsing 4chan and see "[boobs] or GTFO" imagine it in a squeaky prepubescentvoice. Jeffwilson99
Sexting, better than texting, not better than sex. But that aside, you do what you do at your own risk... If it is a seriously relationship, as opposed to a much less mature teenage relationship I think it'd be primo!
Jeffwilson99
Sexting, better than texting, not as good as sex. But seriosly, if you're mature enough to deal with the potiental consequences, then by all means.

Diesel
While I was volunteering at my old grade school during their school play as a microphone tech, one of the actresses took a picture of another girl while she was changing and sent it to everyone in their grade. She didn't know about it until someone told her later. By then it was too late. She was 12. It really hit her hard and she almost quit the show entirely. I don't think the picture taker even got punished. This is why you don't give cell phones to grade schoolers. Sexting, when done by a willing person, is fine. The above case is what troubles me. I can see many more similar stories happening with young teenagers and completely ruining their lives. Really, it's all because of some individuals who can't control themselves. That's why sexting is taken so seriously when it shouldn't be. Dexek
I've done it and do it. I really don't see a problem with it, although I'm not exactly sure which age group you're referring to. When it's someone you're in a relationship with, and have been having sex with, then really, it isn't like it's something out of the blue and unexpected. I remember when I was 14 the big thing was when girls at school would strip on the webcams. Looking back on it, I can see how that would have been odd because we were not only young, but it was them stripping and messing around in their family homes. Now when it happens, it's different because we're actually adults. My personal view for nearly everything in life is: people can do whatever they want as long as it doesn't bother myself or my loved ones. It might seem like a selfish outlook, but that's how I live my life. I'll keep sexting because I know it's appreciated in my relationship; cuts out the monotony of college classes and being away from one another. Honestly it's really stupid. If you're already having sex then why do you need a naked picture of them? We did break up once, but I suppose we have a different connection than most couples. No pictures went around, no secrets that we told one another have been heard by another person, nothing horrible actually happened. The break-up was her still having feelings for her ex which she had a 3 year relationship with. Although, in 2 months we had such a connection that she questioned her 3 year relationship once more. We've never really argued or gotten too upset with one another, and even now the honesty between her and I far surpasses that which we've had with any other individual. I'm quite confident that she wouldn't do that to me, as I wouldn't to her. If she did.. well, I'm not very self-conscious about my body so I guess it wouldn't hurt me much; she's the self-conscious one. I think I explained why we send pictures back and forth. It breaks up the monotony of college classes, and being away from one another. We go to the same college, but we can't always see eachother due to class times. When one of us goes home, we're 3+ hours from this city, and if we both go home we're 2 hours from one another. We can't always drive to see eachother, and as I said, it's appreciated in the relationship. We don't "need" the pictures, but we want them, and are capable of giving them to one another. I guess this topic depends on the maturity of the individuals, based on your concerns.
