March 3, 201016 yr Would like to know other clan's ideas / thoughts about what to do if they were to "mass recruit" My clan recently broke off of a merge we recently arranged, which worked out for a month, until the other clan's leader decided to just call it off, so we're back to our small memberlist again. In my opinion, we tried to fight off being a small clan by making a merge, we've done 2 merges and now just know merges don't really work out well. What is your idea with mass recruiting? How did your clan start off building numbers quickly?
March 3, 201016 yr My guess is you're going to get a lot of people on here telling you how terrible mass recruiting is and how it won't work, etc. So I'll let them handle that. My best suggestion if you're looking for recruits is to do things as a clan that will get noticed. Make sure your recruiting topics on fan sites get bumped, have some fun and original events and then let people know about them, and tell your god damn members to stop camping me in brazilian pvp worlds. March 3, 201016 yr Let your results speak for yourself. Challenge yourselves. Show people that you're unique and stand out from the white noise of the short-lived small clans. It's hard and you might not succeed, but it'd never be in vain.
March 3, 201016 yr What is your idea with mass recruiting? March 3, 201016 yr What is your idea with mass recruiting? Can be good or bad depending on the time. Its become a trend now that when people see mass recruiting they think it'll lead to slumps- but that's because not many clans have managed to pull it off. Even if a clan does slump, such a thing is inevitable- a clan will always encounter some sort of a slump, thats part of its survival. How did your clan start off building numbers quickly? My e-rep obviously. I've made clans out of my own clan bru.
March 3, 201016 yr What is your idea with mass recruiting?I think it can go both ways. In a negative way, it kills your organization in wars a bit. Another, the people you recruit might stay for weeks, but when the clan hits a rough patch or a slump, the unloyal will leave. However one positive thing about it, during that mass recruitment, you may gain some loyal and dedicated people. March 3, 201016 yr How did your clan start off building numbers quickly? My e-rep obviously. I've made clans out of my own clan bru. What is your idea with mass recruiting? In my opinion, mass recruiting is a sign of desperation. The best way to help gain more recruits, is to build a core community of members and to keep adding people into the 'family'. In T0 this brings us a lot of recruits as a good 75% of our members are 110% loyal and it attracts people to be in a stable clan with steady growth, as clan members tell their friends to join and once they're in, we make sure they enjoy the experience. If you have any common sense, or want your clan to be successful, I highly recommend not to mass recruit. How did your clan start off building numbers quickly? At the start we didn't ask members to join us, they naturally came as the clan was made by two high ranks in Legendz (Me, Leader at the time, and Warria06, Warlord at the time) so people wanted to be with their good friends rather than be clan loyal, which was fair since most of the people who left helped to make the clan what it was, but wrong because we didn't want to cause any problems. Unfortunately it did cause quarrels between me and Legendz high ranks (which are fortunately over) when they accused me of stealing their members, when infact I told LGZ members to stay loyal to their clan. When we had a good 25 members, we started recruiting here on Tip.It, and TK closed so we recruited the close friends of T0 members that were in TK at that time. We then asked friends of our members to join and made sure we had a good clan image so people would want to join, rather than us asking people to join. Its worked out pretty well except when we had the flame war with DV, but generally that's how we managed to build numbers relatively fast. March 3, 201016 yr What is your idea with mass recruiting?Short cut to a short success. How did your clan start off building numbers quickly?I'm not too sure really, part of it was because their clan died so they made a "Remake" but ended up more of a mix of multiple old clans that died out. Once you get a core group of members all you have to do is impress people and show that you mean business and aren't going to die quickly. BTW no offense but you're signatures aren't that impressive >.> so I'd have like a graphic design contest or something within your clan. Then improve recruitment topic, get your members active and best way to recruit is by getting each member to recruit one friend. If only half of them succeed you'll find yourself with a good handful of new members. Then it's your job to make sure they learn and become loyal.
March 3, 201016 yr Gene posts his latest flash video all over the place, that normally works. Of course, it requires someone with skills at making flash vids. :PMass recruiting is normally frowned upon but almost every clan does it, it's mostly a matter of name recognition, drowning people with your name (ie topics, signatures, events) and aggressively pursuing more recruits. With love to one, friendship to many, and good will to all.
March 3, 201016 yr Mass recruiting's not a good idea at all- it floods your clan with too many new members all at once creating a series of problems. Firstly the new members don't know many of the people already in the clan and so feel less comfortable. This works the other way too because loyal clan members feel that they've had a load of new people dumped on them and with new names to learn etc they're probably going to be pushing their comfort zone. Additionally people who've been mass recruited don't feel the same sense of loyalty to their clan that someone who you've brought in gradually will have felt. Mass recruiting will only lead to problems. If you want to build a strong clan first build a strong community, then when you all feel like family you can begin to gradually expand. It's not the easy way to become big and strong fast, but it's the only way to become big and strong. Look guys... I absolutely must be a mass baby-seal murderer!
March 3, 201016 yr All I have to say about it is from my experience with past clan merges... Merges= Influx in members, but a few months later= mass leaves... Usually two clans will merge, they'll do alright for awhile, then later on the other clan wants their own clan back, and will mass leave, in this time prior members to the first clan may want to go with some of their friends that they made from the new clan therefore leaving the first clan in a worst state than they were in before. Do us all a favor, construct a proper sentence.
March 3, 201016 yr What is your idea with mass recruiting? When a clan mass recruits, either knowingly or not, it usually ends up only being a handful of members from the mass recruit actually staying. This is because when people mass join a clan, the leaving of a few people and sway that entire group into just leaving since they all came in together. How did your clan start off building numbers quickly? CR has been around for 5 years, and were pretty small until this past summer. As most of you know we gained many members from UBH and PE closing. However, currently we have less than 10 combined members from either of those clans, but the experienced influx of members helped the clan grow and rise pretty quickly. But, when you get a large joining of members, you need to keep the recruits coming in steady, because most likely many of those members will leave and that is what we have done. Most importantly, quality>quantity. Over the summer and beginning of fall CR was pulling around 180-200 opts with an 80-90 man main memberlist. We have been around 60-70 for the past few months and have been reaching the same and even higher on our good days (exo). March 4, 201016 yr It's all about the clan reputation, it's always one step ahead of you, I suggest you don't desperately go look for members but rather focus on making your clan on how to make them come to YOU. Besides, it requires a lot of time to teach most people who aren't aware of decent clan warring skills, because that's mostly what you get when mass recruiting; people who just learn stuff and go when they're tired of it, not people who are actually dedicated on doing the best for the clan on it's own. 12,079 Profile views. March 5, 201016 yr Alot of people have given reasons how to mass recruit. Personally though, through experience I wouldn't like to ever mass recruit again, because it literally will mess up your organization. Only recruit as many as you can handle at a time, like we'll recruit a few, make sure they are all up to standards before we go out looking for more people to join. If it gets too much at a certain point then we'll stop or quickly slower the recruiting process down. It's really organization that suffers from mass recruiting , but if you don't care about that then there's really no other major bad effects. BlasphemyWe choose to go...not because [it is] easy, but because [it is] hard, because that goal will serve to measure and organize the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one which we intend to win. ~ Blasphemien Way "Rest In Peace, Muelmar - A True Modern Day Hero"

March 5, 201016 yr The only thing I would tell you is that, make sure all your members are trying their best to recruit. If you have the entire clan behind something, theres nothing you cant do!
March 10, 201016 yr Recruiting QUALITY members are way better than mass recruit imo. Recruiting would be hard, but if you see someone in runescape (example-while you're training at spiders and a lvl 120 comes) ask him if he's in any clan. If he says no, just ask them - You want to try out something new? Then recruit him to your clan and teach him the warring basics. That's how I do it

I thought I was the only one who did that lol. I'm telling my whole clan to do this to everyone they meet, I've met half my clan at training spots just by talking and becoming friends
