March 28, 201016 yr had to white out swearing and things most people here wouldn't understand Basically, the Government wants to pass a bill to stop any sort of freeware, or anything that is made by someone else that you don't buy. They are claiming that it is to stop piracy, which it is, but they are going to far. So, let me talk about things that you would have to pay for or it would be illegal to download.OperaChrome (possibly)Firefox almost all distros of LinuxMegaupload.com would be illegal if there is a free version. I, for one, will not standby while the government outlaws freeware "just in case."
March 28, 201016 yr Why does it feel like I've seen this somewhere before... Unfinished netherrack symbol of Khorne. Never forget. ~creeper face w/single tear~ DO YOU HEAR THE VOICES TOO?!?!
March 28, 201016 yr Gee, thanks for treating us like idiots and blanking out parts you thought we wouldn't understand. Come to think of it, I don't understand what the hell it is about due to a lack of information. Denizen of Darkness| PSN= sworddude198
March 28, 201016 yr Even if I wouldn't understand you said you blanked out swearing.... i'm a big boy..... God dammit Seany, STOP SHARING MY MIND" I believe in something greater than myself. A better world. A world without sin. I'm not going to live there. There's no place for me there... I'm a monster. What I do is evil. I have no illusions about it, but it must be done."
March 28, 201016 yr Welcome to Tipit. Unfortunately, you may find we aren't as susceptible to mass-brainwashing as your /b/tarded friends. By the way, please post a picture of a woman's bare chest or leave immediately.
March 29, 201016 yr Basically the Senates are voting weather we should have the internet filtered. IF is passes, forgot free downloads, you cant post certain things, Youtube will be blocked in certain countries (already is) and the internet speed will drop due to the force (no pun intended) of the Filter trying to well...filter it all. For Aussies and other countries with bad internet, you can also kiss online gaming goodbye. (or say hello to 999 Ping) @Sworddude, Google it. It isn't that terribly difficult to find out information yourself. <_< Popoto.~<3
March 29, 201016 yr Wow, is this real? If this passes, this is going to suck BIG TIME. Government doesn't need to waste their time trying to "save" the internet.
March 29, 201016 yr Failed attempt at censoring the /b/ garbage. Anyways, interesting but enough so that I'm going to do anything. [bleep] the law, they can eat my dick that's word to Pimp
March 29, 201016 yr Something tells me that this would be impossible if it happened. The internet is too huge and adaptable. I painted some stuff and put it on tumblr
March 29, 201016 yr Something tells me that this would be impossible if it happened. The internet is too huge and adaptable. china has its great firewall, many european countries have their child pornography filters. only small adaptations would be neccessary.
March 29, 201016 yr Hasn't this thing been "in the works" for years? catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream
March 29, 201016 yr Ford bless our Corporations. He would be so pleased if He were around today. SWAG Mayn U wanna be like me but U can't be me cuz U ain't got ma swagga on.
March 29, 201016 yr I think this has the same chance of happening as the "complete ban on all CO(2) emmissions my propery manager tells me about when I deliver my check. It's not going to happen. It's some congressman flexing his political muscle for some e-peen. The United States in generally is for net neutrality and free exchange as long as it doesn't violate laws. Firefox, Opera, and Chrome are all unique projects based on open licensure and distributed for free by the will of their creators. They can not be sold legally, ever. My heart is broken by the terrible loss I have sustained in my old friends and companions and my poor soldiers. Believe me, nothing except a battle lost can be half so melancholy as a battle won. -Sir Arthur Wellesley
March 29, 201016 yr It seems unlikely that they would do this. The government probably uses Freeware tooWhere would Obama be without Chrome? ~~~The Harpy List~~~Harpy Facts~~~It's Super Effective~~~The Beginning~~~Harpy Therapy Center~~~Alg~~~Jedi Harpy~~~Rohirrim~~~Attenuation~~~
March 29, 201016 yr Hmm I want this to pass just to see the chaos it would cause and the how fast it would be revoked. Wongton is better than me in anyway~~
March 29, 201016 yr Hmm I want this to pass just to see the chaos it would cause and the how fast it would be revoked. I don't think it would be revoked if it was passed. The government would look like [kitties] if they did that. ~~~The Harpy List~~~Harpy Facts~~~It's Super Effective~~~The Beginning~~~Harpy Therapy Center~~~Alg~~~Jedi Harpy~~~Rohirrim~~~Attenuation~~~

March 29, 201016 yr Hasn't the internet been threatened to be taken over by big business since...well it's creation? Has it yet? "The cry of the poor is not always just, but if you never hear it you'll never know what justice is."
March 29, 201016 yr IMO the government shouldn't even care what people do on the internet these days. Why watch us here in the first place, when those officials have much better things that they should be taken care of? And at least in China, they don't care about piracy. Oh and a (good) solution for blocking: proxy/VPN servers. March 29, 201016 yr It slows us down and is a pain to do. Governments care what we do because they're afraid of us.Actually, for me, they don't slow me down, they speed me up! So, no, not always true. You know, if I were to conquer the world, everything would stay exactly the same, except censorship (internet, and in general). That has to go. We have to teach our youth about the REAL world, not the "fake" one as of now. March 29, 201016 yr I was thinking of posting this, I've been following this for a while and it's gotten more and more scary. That about the EU is not true, however. They voted on it. This says it all. I'm glad I live in the EU. But I would like people to understand: This is not some /b/tard's idea of a joke, this is actually in the process of happening in the US and possibly other countries with internet freedom problems. It's good that /b/ is taking action on this, and I knew that they would, because they have a lot of influence and this is a good use of it.
