November 18, 200520 yr As thers a saying "Everyone dies, but not everyone has lived." so i believe our purpose on earth is to be who we are and contribute our individualism. If people are all negative and afraid of everything, they are not living, they are just like a souless zombie. So go out their and enjoy yourself
November 18, 200520 yr I don't get it ... why should people keep giving birth? Even babies first thing they come to this world is cry because they know they have came to this world to suffer lol...we have to be sick... fall down go through emotional breakdowns all that and we still die.. kinda lame so why not just die now? Hmmn... Go for it 8) ~Dan64AuSince 27 Aug 2002
November 18, 200520 yr Two reasons: 1)Pain and suffering is the only way to true spiritual awakening 2)Because if we don't someone else will have to instead

Oh boy, what can they do without me? Seriously though, I have no reason to die, so why can't I live? Being optimistic is always better than pessimistic anyway. November 18, 200520 yr Just goes to show that life is alot more than it's shown to be. And it also just goes to show that we have a purpose in life and that there is a place after we die, and i'm going there to meet Jesus
November 18, 200520 yr Suffering builds character, but you refuse to let it build you up, it may destroy you. View every situation, good or bad, as a gift. The good situations are gifts because they make you happy; the bad are gifts because they make you stronger. I also believe that we live to know, serve, glorify, and enjoy God. "In so far as I am Man I am the chief of creatures. In so far as I am a man I am the chief of sinners." - G.K. Chesterton
November 18, 200520 yr My answer to that question has often been: because you don't know what's after death. What if there's nothing after death--no afterlife, no reincarnation, no "eternal dreaming"? Right now, you're able to sense the world around you, you're able to think, right? Who says that carries over after death? A lot of times, people respond, "Nothing after death? Well, okay, so, just a bunch of blackness." But there wouldn't even be blackness, because your consciousness would no longer exist. So, in other words, the only chance you get to perceive what is around you is while you're alive. And, like others said, might as well find something enjoyable to do in that time. The glass is always half-full :) Did you pour liquid into the cup? Then it's half full! Did you drink from the cup? Then it's half empty! Just kidding, I know what you mean. But the half-full/empty thing always kills me. XD
November 19, 200520 yr Why? 42 That's why. its not 2003 anymore j/k, that was more of a late last early this year thing :D there is no good reason why. if you really dont feel like living, i dont think anyone should be able to require you to continue. me, im to afraid to die. and i have a preference of how i want to die (walk in to my house at night, all the lights off and everything except the room where the main door opens up, open it up, see a gun pointed at my head, fly back off the steps when i get shot. alterantively, dieing from having sex too many times in a row with out stopping sounds good :D ), so i have to wait for one of those two things to happen. if for some reason my life changes drastically, example become blind or deaf, then i would probably kill myself. i wouldnt be able to stand it. actually maybe being deaf, thats a 50-50, i might even toss a coin to decide. or if i was paralyzed in a big way, that would suck too.
November 19, 200520 yr This is the reason why religion exists, to make sense of suffering and death. The meaning of life.. is impossible to tell you, but I can tell you the meaning of life according to the Catholic Church: To build the Kingdom of God (build a world of love, compassion, forgiveness and peace) To live in unity with God, Humanity and the natural world Scripture quotes: Matthew 25:31-39 Feed the hungry Give drink to the thirsty Welcome the stranger Care for the sick Visit the prisoner Clothe the naked In other words, to help the poor in society, to help those in need and make their lives better (this is building the so called "Kingdom of God") But you say we suffer and we die, but why are we sometimes happy and have thrilling fun times? We were gifted with life, and if you don't like it then find the nearest bridge, skyscraper, or razor blade.
November 19, 200520 yr Sounds like someone doesnt appreate life with what they have yea? I love life, I have a good life. If I died tomorow, I would only be disapointed because I wouldnt have the ablility to enjoy life anymore. C'YEA H0'KAY
November 19, 200520 yr This is the reason why religion exists, to make sense of suffering and death. Not so sure if I agree with this statement. In my opinion religion is. It never was, and it never will be. Therefore religion was before suffereing and death. Suffereing and death came from religion, and one day they will be non-existent. Ghost: I am prejudice towards ignorance, so that would explain why I appear to be so.
November 21, 200520 yr No.. I think you're misunderstanding this. So you're saying if religion didn't exist, there would be no suffering and death? Gimme some of that stuff you've been smoking, I WANT SOME! Do you understand the concept that people wondered why the suffer and why they die, and they came up with religion to make sense of it through the hope of an afterlife? It's fairly simple dude.

It was because a superhuman being in the sky who created the world thought it was her time" and you say the person that questions religion is smoking something?

November 21, 200520 yr Ok i see your question and i have one for you why are there so many emo kids like you that get mannically depressed because their ugly girlfriend broke up with them? but back on topic the answers is because of all the love and good things in this world. the good outweighs the bad

November 22, 200520 yr which is one way I will not go. Can you read? NO ONE CAME UP WITH IT. It is, it has been, and it always will be. Done. Ghost: I am prejudice towards ignorance, so that would explain why I appear to be so.

The concept is simple, but is it true? Chances are, you won't find out in this lifetime--so, why be excessively adamant and condescending when arguing your views? :P The glass is always half-full :) Did you pour liquid into the cup?
