Seraphi
How is that relevant to Hegemony? How does it matter where the hell a symbol originated, other than for bragging rights because "Your country made it".
The_Mather1
I just started by asking Doom (I think) how she though Æ was pronounced as it was in her country's sigil, then Dusty said it was a Saxon letter and I told him that it was of Norse origin (like most Saxon runes was at that time). The rune is . Also why is there a vote on banning Hex when he has done nothing bad here? A votekick should at least wait until he has gone against the game's rules. Retech
Well since the poll seems in to indicate massive budgets, then I suppose it stays the same. However, to be fair as the United States, I will play as if I'm Canada, working on annexing New Zealand, Greenland, Canada, and Singapore. Then after that annexation time, I will drop the US GDP to 500 billion dollars, and disband most of its army so that it's on par with a Canadian force (or if it takes a long time to build an army and navy, then I'll just stop building when I get to decent Canadian levels. By then my IAG will be around...1.34 trillion, which is much more reasonable. Sounds reasonable? --- Oh yah, and I'll change the name of the country to Canada...and most of the people will magically disappear, because they don't really want 16k GDP per capita. :P Master of your domain? The_Mather1
Can we set a rule against annexing multiple countries at once? Twitter: @TheMather1
Retech
Can we set a rule against annexing multiple countries at once? Which reminds me, you should be dropping your GDP as well. The way I'm annexing is the way I'd be doing it as Canada, which is basically getting the former English colonies that aren't Australia in the Pacific (excluding Taiwan), and then the nice island sitting next to Canada. I think that's perfectly reasonable. In total they add about 100 billion to my IAG, which after the drop from 9 trillion, seems quite small and inconsequential. Master of your domain? The_Mather1
It doesn't seem like that's the solution that's winning. *points at poll* Anyways, multi-annexing just messes up the game for everyone else. Japan starts annexing those small Islands north of it. Twitter: @TheMather1
Retech
I think those islands are already yours. The really small one on top of that is owned by Russia... Multi-annexing normally doesn't work, when one country gains a massive GDP advantage. I'm volunteering to lose 8.5 Trillion in IAG, so I'm sure everyone would be fine if I annexed former English colonies and Greenland. Regardless, until this annexing is complete, the USA still has that 9 trillion or so IAG. Fair, no? Master of your domain? I am Lord of the manor, Queen of the castle, King of the county! VEGHATERMEATLOVER
Æ means diffrent things in diffrent languagesbloody hell Archi, why's there a poll? Is it because I "Spoke out" again. Also, Archi add to the poll "I don't actually care, uneqaulity is realistic. Do nothing" GDP was fine and easy to understand, we should go back to that.Annexation was also easier wthout a system.
The_Mather1
Æ has no meaning, it's a letter, it's like saying Q means something, wait James Bond, same with M, A is a word... Let's just say it has the excact same meaning as Ä (had to go with the Swedish Æ since Å is to (do) and in both Swedish and Danish Ø/Ö is Island). Anyone else here who gets Déjà Vus at a daily basis? VEGHATERMEATLOVER
I meant its pronounced differently, in norwegian it'll be different to another language. I got déjá vu once, it was wierd. I start annexing kazhkstan.
The Dark Lord
Mather -- The Anglo-Saxons weren't Nordic. Although we may (and mistakenly) consider them to be Norse, they did share a very similar culture. Nordic refers to Northern Germanic tribes. The Angles and Jutes came from what is now Denmark, and the Saxons came from Saxony. There was the Danelaw in eastern England where Danes conquered part of the Anglo-Saxon territory, but that doesn't make Anglo-Saxons fellow Norsemen (Vikings). The_Mather1
Possibly, in Scandinavian languages it is pronounced like the A in bad. Four times I know I've head "dream-precognition" once of me tossing a homemade javelin into a bush, twice playing Perfect World International (which came out at least a year after I had the dreams) and once of a school project. Other than that I frequently recall posts here while I'm writing them, this happens like once or twice a day. I never said the Saxons were Norse, I said they used runes based on Norse ones. Wisp
So how about we combine the two systems, and bring every country that's above 2.5 trillion down to that.
