Interesting. I'll have to do some more research, but I get the impression that propane is still slightly cheaper than gasoline..

  • Yes, but that amount of emissions is less. Or in places like where I live, where we're 100% hydro, essentially nonexistent.

A year and a half ago, my company built two LNG (liquified natural gas) depots for a trucking company; one in Montreal and one in Toronto. About 1/3 of their fleet are LNG powered trucks now. It's cheaper than diesel fuel, and delivers more power but they can't go quite as far. They're currently planning to build two more depots between the two they already have so they can replace more trucks and have them make the entire run back and forth.

So far those are the only two I know of in Canada, but from what I understand it's a big thing in California.

In Winnipeg some of our new garbage trucks use natural gas.

There's a local gas company around my parts that's trying to go big by advertising their new method of fumigated fuels or something like that. I believe it's a more natural gas as Spork is talking about. One of my old co-worker's dad's owns the company, but I think they were selling it more for the purposes of heating and light generation(?) than transportation.

Today I had the chance to sit in Estonia's most expensive Lexus. Or well, it was most expensive when it was bought and imported from Canada. Custom made for the Lexus and Toyota dealer in Estonia. This [bleep]ing dude is a millionaire. It was a white Lexus LX570 from 2008, and the owner was already disgusted with it, wanted a new car. But there has been no new Lx series, so he is planning on buying the new flagship sedan for his wife. Well, not buying, he gets cars for free...

I love 80s cars. It's a mix of a boxy-orderly structure and nostalgia. Unlike the curvy-futuristic cars nowadays, those had style.

"The cry of the poor is not always just, but if you never hear it you'll never know what justice is."

I don't see the appeal in that. I spent $900 more than that sold for, and got an amazing car.

It is in nice shape though.

I like 80s cars as well, though I generally tend to like European cars from that era rather than Japanese or American.

It's been a great car, lots of fun to drive.

I'm not completely opposed to older cars, I really like the look of older BMW's, starting in the early 90s. They seem to get better looking as they get older.

Before I bought mine, I thought of getting something like a 70s Mercedes SL or bmw, but the biggest thing that turned me off was the interior. I like having my new leather and sunroof, with all the current electronics and gadgets. Sure, you can install a new stereo and such in an old car, but it looks out of place, and all of the rest of the interior is still old.

After a clean up, wash, re-registered. Now I still need to find the damn foglights...

^ Are the fogs for practical purposes or for the sporty look? If it's the latter then why bother as the car looks fine as it is.

Both. I'm doing a restore job on it as finding stock "N14 Pulsar SSS AUS Spec" are neer impossible as they were either used in races in the early 90's, thus having mechanical issues, or thrashed by teen drivers. So it holds its value very well if kept in prime stock condition, especially the rims. Those alone are worth ~$800 because no one has them anymore.

I'm impressed. I don't see many people doing restoration jobs on cars these days as new and good used cars have become more affordable. Nice to see someone taking in pride in it too. Good luck with that project and upload some more photos when you get the fogs in. :)

dem mustangs tho

Also, I won't be getting my license and thus, own car before autumn. Managed to injure my right foot so badly that I cannot do exams before July and in July I will already be abroad.

Mine I find annoying the front bumper is quite low.

Which is ....odd considering it was designed as a rally vehicle by Nissan back in 90's.
