Nomad is a good guy?

Dont forget, We (I) killed Nomad, so wouldn't that make US stronger, thus able to take his spot in defeating Lucien? we've already come in physical contact with both the staff of Armadyl and the stone of Jas. AND to top it off, We're bringing Zaros back from the nether-plane of which he is disgusted in Zamorak and Lucien who's like the next Zamorak, will most likely imbue his powers to us to help fight Lucien!

(At least I hope. Lets face it, that'd be one kick-arse storyline)

Judging by his original look before he gained amazing power, he probably was one of Lucien's dark warriors and betrayed him. I think that's also indicated in the dialogue with the three spies? Not sure.

I hope that if he is a good guy there are no hard feelings between him and my character, I don't want to have to fight him again and he'd be a useful ally :P

I think it's more likely that he's trying to defeat Lucien for his own personal reasons rather than to save the world if he is a "good guy", although it's kind of hard to tell as he thought we were working for Lucien.

I am doing the quest now, and have been through all the dialogue options. He says that he needs the power to be able to face his former employer, as he will likely stop sending his minions and instead deal with him face-to-face. He also says that we should've figured out who this former employer is by now. Seeing as Elite Dark Warriors/Rangers/Mages are involved with Lucien, I think that Nomad might have been preparing to face this Mahjarrat menace. As a result, maybe the throne will be used by us in an effort to stop Lucien?

Off-topic: in the fight, is it worth the two lost brews by bringing melee armor for his berserker state?

No, when he goes into the berserk stage you can just pray melee

It's all pure speculation, but guessing is fun.

I think he's similar to the JACOB character from the TV show "Lost". He's got questionable morality and does things way outside of what we expect is his right to affect, but in reality is acting in the best interest of the world. He is containing a great evil with his intricate devices, and to override the damage done with his death, our character is going to have to do the work he would have done.

Pure guesses, admittedly, but we have little to no information at our disposal.

A lot of this just seems like pure speculation on the players part. "You have doomed this world" could indicate a number of things. Maybe Nomad was indeed, a good guy who was using the souls to give himself god-like status to the level of Zamorak so he can defeat Lucian, (If I remember correctly, Lucian hasn't ascended yet, has he?) Hell, Nomad could have come from another plane of existence just like the Goblins and Humans. Perhaps he was amassing power to defend Gielenor but who is to say he wouldn't turn right around to enslave it? You really know nothing of Nomad's past (I wasn't able to uncover information during the quest) besides what you can find during the quest. The only thing we do know is that he was getting stronger for some reason, he served under an extremely powerful and resourceful master, and something will involve him in the future.

Remember, everyone is justified in their own eyes; good and evil are relative. His motives are unknown but we do know them to be in self preservation.

How exactly could he be a mahjarrat? He looks nothing like the ones we've encountered before. Given he has a more buff, tank-like look rather than a Lich persona, I have serious doubts on this. Unless he is one of the few unknown mahjarrats in hiding and Nomad is simply a guise...However, I am still missing Temple of Sennestin quest so my mahjarrat history is a bit behind. This is all pure speculation on everyone's part, even my own.

Either way, how the hell are we supposed to defeat a demi-god like Lucian or some morally questionable, paranoid powerhouse like Nomad again without some sort of divine intervention.....:(:(:(

Off-Topic: I just prayed melee when he went into his berserker state, he will still hit with his magic attack during this state though, unless somehow he goes through prayer with melee too.

Some of the mahjarrat's are physically weak, but powerful mages, and others are bad mages but good warriors. Lucian was said to be a puny, little baby-man (too much tf2) who couldn't even pick up a sword.

the only mahjarrat that's physically-weak-but-a-powerful-mage is lucien.

other mahjarrat like hazeel and zemouregal are amazingly strong

zemouregal for example, wields dual swords swings with such strength and speed that it took all of Arrav's skill to simply block his blows

and this in spite of the fact that he uses primarily relies on necromancy

lucien on the other hand could barely lift a sword during the godwars.

the mahjarrat are a mixed bunch, people think that they're physically weak because lucien is, and he's the best understood mahjarat out there right now.

I could have sworn Lucien wasn't as weak as he was before.....I know there is a line somewhere spoken by an ancient character, maybe it was Zemourgal himself, that mentioned something along the lines of Lucien being weakened to his previous state before WGS. It was something along the line of calling him a coward because he was hiding due to his newfound weakness, I can't be sure.

I don't ever recall an instance of any mahjarrat being naturally weak without another mahjarrat harming them, or their power being drained due to that weird ritual dealy. Isn't there a database on TIp.It specifically for these guys????

I think of Nomad as a more Chaotic good Character than anything else. He may be on the side for good, but he will do anything to achieve a victory for the side of good. Even steal souls and turn to the evil side that is still less evil than his former employer.

Also, I foresee him thinking of us as a better person to connect to the soul machine. Us, a 'normal' human beat him while he was holding the power of the souls. What if he gave us the souls, would we not be much more powerful than he could ever become? Could the power gained from doing this be enough for us to take on Lucien? I would say yes, as our power would come from both the souls and the fact that we touched the stone of Jas in the past, and have connections with enemies of Lucien on all sides.

Slightly off topic, I think our character is slightly chaotic as well. Good or evil, we have worked for many different gods and factions, all with different intentions and beliefs.

Eh, speculation aside, I can't wait to see what Jagex finally does with these huge storylines. Hope they don't write themselves into a corner, that would really suck :ohnoes:

Mingle with my darkness

May we mix to create

Our own twilight sunset

The dusk breeze

Spreading clouds

On our murky horizon
