I have done 17 Abyssal Demon tasks now, gotten _3_ whips.

Of these tasks I have done 16 in Abyssal Plane and one in Tower

 

I have gotten _1_ Whip in the Abyssal Plane and 2 in Tower

 

So my question is, does the drop rate really have THAT big difference in places? Or is it just my crappy luck.

 

If so, I will do tasks in Tower from this moment onwards.

Sounds like you're just suffering from a small sample size, especially for the tower. They're the exact same monsters, and what I've read from other people's logs sounds like they have the same rate.

Drop rates are a chance to drop..You just got some good luck at the tower and got 2 drops. There's no difference.

I have done maybe 40 strykewyrm tasks, of all kinds, and gotten 1 hexcrest.

the only situation were drop rates are altered is the charm rates of monsters in the Chaos Tunnel compared to those out of the tunnel. Otherwise it's just random luck.

No it is always 1 in 400.

As a side note, do them in Kura's dungeon. I can't see your combat levels, but unless you're a Mage/rage fanatic you should be 110+ combat.

Drops are random.

I've camped the Abbyys in the tower for roughly 7-8 hours straight and only got one whip drop from that.

 

I've had 2 Abby tasks which I completed in Kuradel's dungeon and got a whip drop.

 

I would say its just your luck. Slayer monsters seem to have relatively consistent drops as far as their specific drops. Then again, you could go kill Graador once and recieve a hilt against guys who mass there for hours straight, day after day and not recieve a drop. It's all a numbers game.

I'm going to assume you use Duradel since you aren't in Kuradal's cave.

 

17 tasks at a 165 average would be 2800 kills. In 2800 kills, the odds of getting n whips is:

 

0 whips - 0.2%

1 whips - 1.2%

2 whips - 3.8%

3 whips - 8.0%

4 whips - 12.4%

5 whips - 15.4%

6 whips - 16.0% (expected number)

7+ whips - 43.0%

Wow, I'm so unlucky then, I've only ever gotten 3 whip drops :blink:

2 in tower, 19 in the abyss place.

Oo I just realized how unlucky I am...15 tasks (averaging around 200/task) dry.

95 slayer with 3 whips....demons hate me <_<

A dry streak doesn't mean your luck is bad. Say I do 100 abyssal demon tasks. You have almost a 40% chance of going 10 tasks or more dry.

Why not in Kuradel's dungeon? Are you not 110 combat? I find that highly unlikely if you're 85 slayer.

I get a whip a task or more,sometimes 3 whips per task

It's really just random luck abyssals seem to love me more then any other monsters tho cuz i'v gotten over 80 whips and im just about 96 slayer roughly i get a whip every 250 kills tho but its all random i'v gotten 4 whips in 1 task but i can go 5+ tasks without a whip
