icoulddestroyyou
My friend tried the content-aware and was not wholly impressed. It seems like an upgraded version of clone stamp. If the layout is anything like CS4, I'll stick with 3.

RSBDavid
That's all it is supposed to be, just more advanced. And for them to make more money. If I were wrong, they would just release updates to their current software instead of charging $1000.00 for a new "better" version. stevepole
Adobe's a business and Photoshop is their product. They aren't going to make money off updates especially when so many already pirate the software.

Shiny
I fully agree with you on the pentool thing Dsavi. I cannot, for my life, use it in PS. What were you doing yesterday tripsis?
tripsis
I made some clan signatures like 2-3 weeks ago and just put sample text on there until they were ready to be used (like "Clan Name Here"). But then for some reason the PhotoShop document didn't save correctly or something o_O And I didn't notice until yesterday, when I needed to open it again to add the clan names. So the document wouldn't open and all I had to work off of were the JPEGs with the sample text. But I used content aware fill to almost seamlessly remove the sample text. - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog

Alduron
Looks like Adobe is putting out another fine product. I have the CS3 suite and never felt it necessary to upgrade to CS4 but I may have to give the CS5 suite some serious consideration.
Estonian dude
Ok, finally deciced to give PS a chance... Got the Extended edition. Don't ask how. Well, problem is, how can I get a gradient map? The option is grayed out everywhere and I can't use it! So I've noticed this thread's regulars all follow similar trends. Estonian dude
No such thing as a mode appears. At least from Edit bar. There is a mode option under Image, but I can't choose anything from there aswell. Sam
Oh, that's what I mean :/ I'm not sure then, if the option is greyed out. 2257AD.TUMBLR.COM
Estonian dude
Well, the mode I have is RGB color, 32-bit. The only option I have is making it grayscale. I wonder if CMYK would have allowed me to use gradient mapping...Anyways, I also haven't got most of the layer styles, filters, I can't apply text on anything...I seriously am a newb at Photoshop... Too bad my GIMP died on me though. And I can't save the file in other known formats than .psd and .tiff... I think I have got a faulty/featureless copy of Photoshop... Sam
It's not that you've got a broken copy, 3D files are dealt with in a different way. There are lots of tutorials and videos around the internet on CS5 and it's features, so look around for some. 2257AD.TUMBLR.COM

Don't rob a company of that much for something you'll never use, if you want to dab around just get some freeware, The GIMP is perfectly suitable rather than PS, etc. Tumblr. Follow me! Either way Adobe doesn't make money. At least with torrenting it he might eventually buy it if he for some reason became a full time designer (Not saying that's going to be the case but I know, personally, that I will probably end up owning a legit copy of photoshop once I really get out into the real world). Just sayin'.
