I'm looking for the fastest xp at 73 fishing. I have not done swan song. Any ideas?

Barbarian fishing near the Barbarian Outpost or fly fishing at Shilo Village are your best bets. Personally I would prefer to do fly fishing as you can bank which is a lot easier than having to drop everything you catch. Try and finish Swan Song though as monkfish are the best experience and great money until you can fish rocktails.

As long as you are using fire runes the alch shouldn't interrupt your fishing. You won't have to waste time dropping the fish, although you will lose some money on the alching (sturgeon alch for 45gp). However, you lose money on most alching anyway, so if you want to level up magic as well it's not bad at all.

I've never barb fished before, but unless you have to actually wield the rod to catch the fish you can should be able to fish without being interrupted while holding a fire staff. Sometimes I'll alch while cutting ivy wearing a fire staff. Same for superheating at LRC. As long as you don't trigger the queue, you'll keep doing whatever you were doing.

 

But either way, you will end up losing quite a bit of money, I think around 30 million from 80 (I checked against my stats), but you'll also get like 9 million magic xp (again, from my stats)

I did try shilo village, thats how i got to 73. The only problem with barb fishing is that I like to think of myself as a range/mage pure and the str xp form barb fishing will really add up. Also, does any1 know how much xp per hour swordfish and tuna is without sacred clay or swordfish gloves?

I will also support continuation of shilo village fly fishing. However, you should consider what fishing level you're going for and how far you're going to train ranged, def, and prayer.

 

If you raise those three other combat skills enough, they should raise your CB level to a point where strength levels won't increase it for like 20-30 levels, which could mean you being able to fish upwards of 60k-70k fish via barbarian fishing.

 

You should also consider doing swan song though. Any reason why you haven't?

Here's what you do. When fishing near the bank in Shilo, bank there. When fishing on the west side of the river, stop at the store, sell the fish and drop the money.

That's false. And if you're dropping at shilo you may as well drop at barbarian lake.

There's really no point in fishing for cash until Rocktail, so you should probably just barb fish or Shilo bank (it's a LOT easier).

Dropping with mousekeys or alching as you fish is at least as easy, and a lot better.

I wouldn't recommend Monkfish til 85 ish, they're still around my level.

At my level, I get the equivalent of about 70k xp/hour by playing fish flingers. The odd thing about fish flingers is the xp actually decreases as you level up, so you could actually get slightly more. I would suggest reading up about it to learn the strategy. You basically want to get the 100% combo for all six species and then fish the heaviest fish until the game ends. You can also look around RSOF for a cc to join.

Hooray for people who don't look at my sig. I only have 100 qp, and I havent done OSF or garden of tranquility. On top of that, I'm trying to keep my combat low and my skills high so def and prayer are like poison. Also, shilo village fishing and barb fishing are the same xp, right?

Barbarian is about 15k xp/h faster.
