Well, a few days ago, Sega announced a new video, for a new game for the Nintendo Wii and DS, Sonic colours! (Or yes, Colors ;) )

Current Info:

 

The diabolical Dr. Eggman has hatched another plan for world domination!

He has built an amazing interstellar amusement park, floating in space around Sonic’s home planet, bursting with incredible rides and attractions.

However, all is not as it seems as Dr. Eggman has abducted an alien race and is harnessing their colourful energy to fuel a sinister plot. Before Dr. Eggman completes his evil plans though, Sonic discovers his mysterious theme park in space.

When he arrives, Sonic finds he is also able to use these alien powers and is ready to help. Sonic will need all his speed and skill as he faces this test, but, empowered by the alien energy, it’s a test he’ll pass with flying colours.

Why would anyone in their right mind be excited for this? It's just another sonic game with him and a billion of his random furry sidekicks.

 

I'll be waiting for Sonic 4 which is what the fans actually want from the franchise.

I'm in agreeance. They need to stop adding gimmicks and new characters to sonic games and return to the roots.

I thought there was some Mine Cart gimick level that was shown? Maybe not, but I won't believe anything until I read some reviews of the game. Sonic Colours will be another crap Sonic game, so no need to pay attention to it.

I admit, it might not be brilliant, but Sonic games are sonic games, and ive gotta admit, people have been overly biased about them over the past few years!

The sonic games in the past years (after the dreamcast) have been made to appeal to kids, not long time fans of the series. Mean while you see that mario games still appeal to people of all ages.

Sorry after the last 10 years of crappy games I have all but lost faith in the sonic franchise this coming from a ex sonic fan btw.

Eh, I have lost interest in Sonic after the 20th game.

It'd be nice to have a decent Sonic game for the PS3/360. I'd play it for sure.

Yes, there is a Sonic 4 coming out, late 2010 for Iphone, Wii virual console etc Etc...

Also- I have the gamecube version of the Sonic 1-3, and tbh, they were better than classic mario games! :thumbsup: Just make some more like those Sega (And nintendo)

In fact, I'm inclined to think it's a fad... Advance games, Rush games, Heroes, Adventure Games are great games, people overlook them too much.

 

And "beating the dead horse"? I think the fans that keep judging every single pre-released Sonic game are "beating the dead horse", tbh. Stop judging something if you haven't even played it.

 

The only really *fail* game that really needs to be mentioned is Sonic 06. And I hardly think 1 game in the entire series is enough to ruin the whole thing.

 

Hopefully this turns out well. We'll just have to wait and see.

Yes I did. Once you get the hang of the controls, it's actually pretty fun.

 

Though, 3D games in general make me really dizzy. (I'm looking at YOU Super Monkey Ball.)

 

And even if it IS fail, honestly is 2 games out of 30 or so really THAT big of a difference?

 

The entire Sonic community is now devolved into whether Sonic games are good or not. That's a pretty good reason why I left the Sonic community.

But the recent sonic games cannot hope to stand up to the original three. They metaphorically kick the crap out of almost any other sonic game to date, and Sega continually tries to put gimmicks into the newer games to "Fix" it, but all they succeed in doing is making it seem cheap, and they can't seem to get the same feel as the original three.

 

And they've done it so many times that now, whenever they announce a new sonic game, everyone thinks "Going to be terrible".

Don't hate secret rings, is the 3rd best 3d sonic next to the adventures.

Also you never played the older games when they were first out due to only being 14 years old. The reason why you like these new sonics is because they are geared towards kids like you instead of the people who grew up with the franchise. Pretty much if you compare the new Mario games to the new Sonic ones you can see that even though Mario still appeals to a broad number of people they are made with those who have been long term fans of the franchise as well. These new sonic games just keep adding in more furry friends and more terrible sonic play that is obviously geared towards a younger demographic. At least finally they are getting "serious" with Sonic 4 as an XBLA/PSN release but it seems like colors is still going to be just another terrible cash in for a sonic game.

The sonic adventures wern't the most amazing games out there but I still really loved the first one despite it's issues. I think the big reason for that though is that back then it was such a leap in technology on the Dreamcast and scenes like the whale one were just awesome (Even though you were hardly in control).

Wow, when this gets released in the UK, they have got to add a "U" in the word title. We Brits spell it "Colours" :twss:
