Dax
My usual two hours of play time has cut back to around 20/30 minutes a day. Something tells me that the game is boring me. So, with my quitting drawing closer and closer, I wish to waste my money on something, so I can come back and have a bit of cash. With 70M, the question is: What rare should I buy? #KERR2016/17/18/19/20/21. #rpgformod
Kidd_Varrow
70M won't get you any rares. I'm not too good with figuring out what items will rise over time.

Link0000109
You're going to need more than 70M cash. Every "Rare" (Except the Half Full Wine) is well over 90M coins each. I'm not too good with the market either. Sorry. I'd probably get more money or just save what I've got if I were you. Dax
Well, change that rare to what should I buy to make some cash for when I come back, if I come back, then. :^_^: #KERR2016/17/18/19/20/21. #rpgformod
Sy_Accursed
You should just keep the cash. You never know wtf an item will do in the longterm. You could invest 70m in a rare and come bk to find it worth only 200k; where as if u just keep 70m when you come bk you will still have 70m Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue

Dax
I'll probably go with Paw. Seeing as no rares are within my range, I'll keep the cash. Kinda wanted something to show off with and hopefully make me some cash over time. Ah well, thanks anyway. #KERR2016/17/18/19/20/21. #rpgformod
Aruschpler12
I disagree. Invest in SOMETHING. Perhaps even dragon bones. Your 70m cash won't be worth as much when you return. Choosing to not invest essentially even denies the possibility of keeping up with the market. If you can't get a rare./item you're almost certain will hold/rise in value, get alot of an item thats traded in high volumes or something you'll use even if you can't sell it later (bars, ores, essence, bones, hides, armour, herbs, etc) Don't let inflation wreck your wealth It's called the "Grand Exchange," and not the "Grand Alwaysatyourservicetodoyourbidding, regardlessoftheneedsofothers," for a reason.107,992 to 99 cooking96,545 to 99 fletching24,699 to 99 smithingI would indeed be happy if someone stopped spreading cancer all over this place. Even though it tends to be funny to read, but not as much when someone who demands people to make way for him comes along and decides to call others arrogant. Tim
Sadly you would be lucky enough to get maybe a disk of returning or half-wine. Everything else is practically 100m+, no thanks to the hoarders lately. I would try a mass object like seeds, bones, armor etc. Popoto.~<

Triquos
Decide what you think a future update may come out for. For me when I quit, I made 12M by buying thousands and thousands of air talismans at around 500gp each, they rose to 3.5k each and I sold em when I came back XD but yeah definitely invest in something YOU truly feel will rise in price one day :)
noble_aloof
theres huge inflation right now, so you might as well just buy an item that is traded a lot that just got done crashing or is about to finish crashing. in 6 months 70mil will be child's play. Bladewing
You cannot buy any rare. It would be impossible to snipe a half wine for another two weeks anyway, and probably impossible to snipe one at all anyway. I got an offer in 2-4 seconds after the last update, and I still feel I have a chance of less than 1%. If you want something to invest in, I'd recommend amulets of fury. Everything else is practically 100m+, no thanks to the hoarders lately. Not this [cabbage] again, it's not some illuminati-type group of rich individuals that have caused these items to go up, it's every person, including you, myself, and OP who want to buy a rare and the increased income of players.theres huge inflation right now, so you might as well just buy an item that is traded a lot that just got done crashing or is about to finish crashing. in 6 months 70mil will be child's play. There is not huge inflation occurring right now. There was huge inflation occurring 6 months ago, not right now. We have fairly stable price levels right now. Danqazmlp
I would personally keep the cash as it is for a safe option. Investing in a non-rare can seem tempting but it only takes one update to turn the economy on it's head and we go into deflation. Want to be my friend? tortilliachp
to all those suggesting buying a half-full wine: you know their street value is 1000m+ (1bil) right? I would still suggest something that uses an onyx to be made, like a fury. unless jagex decide to change the amount of tokkul required for a gem, i can't see any price change but upwards for these. Zimbu
A safe option would be to keep some of it as gp as a safeguard against deflation and invest some to combat inflation. Put some of the money on MTK and some on offers on pie dishes and other capped items on the GE. Green d'hides on min is good because green dragon bots are heavily outselling the tanner bots. Also, cooked sweetcorn should rise some day. If you try to snipe a rare, you can buy one dump item from a merch clan, put it on offer at max and when GE updates you will immediately see it from the GE screen. Although, I'm pretty sure there are a lot of people trying to make the instant 2b+ (not sure), so your chances of getting a half wine are pretty small. Deltaer
You should just keep the cash. You never know wtf an item will do in the longterm. You could invest 70m in a rare and come bk to find it worth only 200k; where as if u just keep 70m when you come bk you will still have 70m Wrong. If you have money to invest in a discontinued item, you should do so. You are LOSING value in your money by holding onto your gp (because of inflation), while the stability or increase in the value of your money is much more secure in a rare. Why? The supply of rares is always decreasing, and demand is always consistent or growing (and I think it's fair to say the demand is increasing). I would still suggest something that uses an onyx to be made, like a fury. unless jagex decide to change the amount of tokkul required for a gem, i can't see any price change but upwards for these. No, definitely not.. the introduction of another amulet or gem could cause the amulet of fury to crash. No updates could devalue the price of discontinued rares [in the long term]. When quitting, your best option is to buy a discontinued item - if you can't afford it, keep the gp. Rares are actually something high level players seem to enjoy again, because they're becoming so insanely expensive: if you have a partyhat, you have it. if you don't, it'll take you aaaages to merch to get one. Well what if Jagex finally gets rid of the idea of rares, and all of a sudden everyone can have them via diango or something. A lot of people have been complaining that the value of rares is not in the spirit of the original idea of rares. Though it is unlikely that jagex would blow up the economy by doing this, it is possible.

Though it is unlikely that jagex would blow up the economy by doing this, it is possible. Those complaints have been there for years, and I can tell you that Jagex would never eliminate items from the game like that (or even worse, give them to every player, makes no sense as they were special holiday items) and if they wanted to, they would have done it years ago.. It would cause mass chaos and anger.. How would you react if your cash value of rares amounted to billions and billions and suddenly Jagex took that away from you? It's suicide. The best they could do to fix their mistake with discontinued items was done - make the new ones untradeable like they did in 2005.
