Ye Olde Hegemony

Retech

Recommended Posts

Nevermind, they're not worth it. I still have 800 of them anyway.

Well, I would like a small payment for them. 100,000 for indefinite service, and 250 for each death? Is that fair?

They're rather cheap for how super uber leet they seem to be.

[cabbage], I don't wanna be Catholic.

*HRE converts to Protestant*

Sure np, 1 minor setback though: the Protestant religion doesn't exist for another 500 years or so.

Oh, that reminds me. Most of the players with countries in Europe discover that you've been spying on them for a year, when you announce that they are moving on the thread.

They are pretty good for their price, but that's because he doesn't really have any options for an army. However, if you think about it, the Mongols enjoy slaughtering mass rows of people, so blending in wouldn't really help...

Hehehe.

They're not that great, but they're great for their purpose.

Retech, I hope you ask me next time you do that. I meant to make a point out of that, so it doesn't really matter, but in other cases I might prefer secrecy. And unless you just PMed those countries about my spies, they don't know which of them it is and how many I had there. If they want, I can tell them.

Honestly, I think it ruins the fun if they don't have to guess what the agents were doing beforehand. If any of them thought twice about my wording in that post.

Uh huh, but any information posted on the thread is basically free info for all the nations of Europe, so using that information they basically became more vigilent, because no one had thought of spying before, allowing them to figure it out that they were being spied on.

And? Makes the game more interesting. I mean, having an edge over the competition is great and all, but I'd rather see my counterparts doing more than bashing things with clubs. This will hopefully provoke some thought on the matter of espionage.

So wait, does he know about tech and such or is it just troop numbers and movement?

Because the tech I'm working on right now is being made by just a few master engineers in a single room. I don't think spying would work.

Heh. I gathered no information on you, Ross. I only had 200 spies in Burgandy to monitor Project Scorpio and Minas Tirith.

Install the Sardinian King as the governer for the Sardinian area

Move the trade route HQ to Sardinia, meaning a huge boost for Sardinia

Ship luxury resources (Lets say it costs me 500,000)

And my other army is stationed there

Also Rocco

You mean Norway was promised to me.

I dislike that we get the treasuries of conquered lands before the round is up.

Furthermore, as I captured the king, I almost certainly captured the treasury of Sweden as it would have been carried in a strongbox with him.

I'm not going to dispute this if I get Norway, but yeah.

'Tis I, 'tis Vindice, 'tis I!

You get the monies that the conquered lands had in their strongbox when they were conquered. Sweden had spent most of their monies already, along with the rest of the Scandanavian countries.

Also, your treasury is 0 because you purchased twenty thousand men at arms, which is ten million, your total budget.

The Pope responds that it was a quick battle, not a long and drawn-out war. He also thinks that it was a tutorial and didn't want to include his interference.

Denmark was smaller than them, being as their budget was smaller :P.

It's just that he promised Norway to me, I wont fight for it either.

Actually Denmark was bigger, with a budget of 5 million, but Rocco also lost some of his northern HRE land.

Erm... Nex, Scorpio was the project I was trying to keep incredibly secret. As in "Kill anybody who isn't wearing a blindfold and earmuffs upon entering the room it's being made in" and "The engineers sleep inside the room".

Indeed. I could tell you something rather unsettling right now, but it would put me at a disadvantage. And I'm still horribly curious about that project.

Due to some mishaps, the French call back their entire army from Scandinavia, as I recall it was

5,000 archers

5,000 pikemen

5,000 swordmen

3,000 spearmen

5,000 blood knights

3,000 peasents

Now I now some of them are dead, but it is impossible to work out, so I'm going to take what I feel is a reasonable amount and Rocco can have w/e is left.

I recall

2000 Pikemen

2500 Archers

1700 Swordmen

250 Spearmen

500 Peasents

3500 Knights

If they can't get home, they're instructed not to fight for HRE or anyone, and if HRE begins to turn on them, don't hesitate to ally themselves with Scandinavia.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

Are there even 3500 knights left? Lots of the troops took terrible casualties because of the Scandanavian axemen or the storms, which don't discriminate between knight and peasant.

Anywho, the Scandanavian countries offer the return to pre-war territory.

Just so everyone knows, the time when the Mongol's enter Europe is determined by a dice roll. A six means they invade. :P

If anyone wants to calculate the probability that the Mongols will come LATER than a certain year, then you can use the formula (5^x)/(6^x), where x is the number of years until that year.

For the probability that the Mongols will come on a specific year, use the formula above, except x would simply be the year before the year you are calculating for, then divide the decimal by 6.
