For certain people, the login servers have just gone offline.

 

You guys noticed how this happens at least once a week now?

We seem to be having a temporary server issue that will mean the following:

 

Half our players may not be able to login.

The Grand Exchange is inaccessible

Friends system may not be accessible for some of our players.

 

We are looking into this now and will have these systems up and running ASAP.

Just got booted from w99. Oh well.

 

It's an Internet game, so expect connection/uptime issues on occasion. As long as it's not out for hours on end, I don't have any issues. I needed to eat breakfast anyways. <3

Friendlist, G.E, Clan chat and Trading (Receiving and giving of items) are down. If you try to trade, you will disconnect.

I was just about to finish a dungeon... :(

Perhaps Jagex is checking usernames of people for the Costume Competition?

I got hit by this yesterday but thankfully I was saved from this one today.

 

I'm getting paranoid if I suddenly log out while doing slayer and get rolled back.

Luckily I disconnected right as I tabbed out of Arma, I would have surely died. :thumbdown:

I hope they resolve it soon, it has happened a lot which suggests they haven't actually fixed the main problem, they've only temporarily fixed it the previous times.

I wonder why they are performing a server maintenance, and why they couldn't inform people about it?

I wonder why they couldn't give players a warning say, 30 minutes before the maintenance started? Or was it because the servers crashed unexpectedly in the first place? :unsure:

Probably server crashing and they cover it up as "maintenance". Tbh I'm not even sure what maintenance means...that they have paused/stopped or held off the servers?

I think it's this. The sticky about the server going offline and them trying to fix it came before the main news post about maintenance.

British Maintenance = Wait 45 minuets for the "Workmen" to arrive, give them the job, wait 4 hours until they finally say "yeah we can't do this job, we will send the correct guys over in 2-3 weeks" They arrive, flick a switch and Fixed

...Or the servers crashed and require maintenance (perhaps parts need to be replaced on the server box? Wires checked? Servers like the ones Jagex uses are massive and a physical inspection can take a couple hours, let alone a diagnostic once it boots up) to fix rather than a simple "yo hit the power button."

***Update*** We are starting to bring the affected servers back online and hopefully they will be fully working in about 10 minutes.
