Is there a way to quickly farm for effigies? I understand these things are hardly common, but if I could get even a few a day, it would be well worthwhile.

Unless said skill costs 30 gp/xp. In which case, I'd be getting like 600k-700k worth of value per effigy. (Equivalent to a full hour of casual money making.) Then getting even one per hour would be nice, assuming some side exp benefit too, from the combat.

you can expect 1/100-150k slayer experience, so just slay really hard.

I got two in one tzhaar task, it might have just been pure luck though.

TDs have a very high droprate.

Take them as they're supposed to be: A nice little bonus while doing combat instead of focusing on amassing them. If you end up finding some NPC with a relatively terrific drop rate, but gives awful xp and loot then it's not worth your time.

 

So as already said, slay or hunt higher leveled monsters. I got 2 from waterfiends and 1 from baby blacks while killing greens in the chaos tunnels.

 

Also if you're in it for the possible xp from investigating the effigy itself, hop onto Assist Clan or Effigies CC. There are tons of people there looking to assist or be assisted. It's a nice way to make use of your daily 30k assist cap or get those effigies processed. You just need to be patient as only 2 effigy investigations will max out a person.

Well, as i've been slaying for effigies myself, the best way seems to be normal slayer coupled with a little task changes- don't do too many low level moster tasks and concentrate on higher level mosters because they drop them much more frequently- so greater demons are a bad task and black demons a very good task, muted tortoises a bad task but steel dragons a very good one. Kill black dragons instead of the baby variants and so on.. And it's true they are about 100-150k slayer xp per on average, though you may get 3 on a task and then none for 800k+ slayer xp, the best droppers seem to be ice strykewyrms, dark beasts, black demons, iron dragons and abyssal demons.

I get them pretty frequently from abby demons, I've had 7 in about 1500 kills, the nice thing about them is at my prayer level they're worth over a mil in d bones saved :D

soloing godwars is another option where you stand to gain a lot of effigies that hasn't been mentioned yet, as are obviously also dagganoth kings (2.5 bridding). These are already good moneymakers, so i'd use the effigies in skills i dislike leveling, rather than expensive skills. Those can be trained with the money gained.

I thought DKs don't drop effigies.

They don't, at least if they do its less than 1 in 1k.

From my slaying experience, black demons are nice effigy droppers.

so someone else mentioned that effigy drop rates could be related to charm drop rates.

DK's don't drop charms, likewise they don't drop effigies.

 

I'm wondering if perhaps it's related, specifically, to the blue charm drop rate.

As ice strykewyrms and tormented demons are great sources of those.
