[hide]Make a commitment and stick to it. I'm mainly making this rant for a friend of mine, but I've experienced this too much to just not say anything. I don't care about your useless, asinine, convoluted, nonsensical non practical stupid excuses. Don't try to play it off by saying "o wow its caturday gtg LOL." Don't say your power went out when you're still on Runescape, make a commitment and stick to it. If you don't think you will be able to do it, or maybe you might not even want to do it, say so. It'll save all of us hassle, nothing is more obnoxious (ok, so a lot more things are obnoxious, but when it comes to MH...) then to have someone cop out when we get to the place, or give a half ass effort because they don't want to be there.

 

I realize most of you are not 17+ so it may be hard to make a commitment, when everything is a-churning on the outside and inside of you, but have some respect for your fellow scaper. And commit. If you realize you were in error, and the person you're dk'ing packed a couple extra 23 chromosomes in their inven, and left a couple vital things out, then make a mental note. But while you're there at least try and make it work. Don't be so spineless. Yikes.

 

 

tl;dr: it is annoying when someone makes a commitment to go dunging, dk'ing, etc and then back out. Or tele early, and it's not even for a valid reason. Its because they don't want to commit, and thats obnoxious. LET ME REITERATE, IF IT IS A LEGITIMATE EXCUSE I DO NOT CARE AT ALL. ITS THE FAKE ONES I HATE. I read your rant 4 times and it still doesn't make that much sense. So I'll assume maybe one of your RS friends said they would duo or something with you and then they made a lame excuse to get out of it? Assuming that is correct (or just the general idea), I hate that behavior too. People don't seem to understand that going back on commitments of any "importance" are commitments nonetheless. It has happened to me and, hell, I've done it before. I was pissed at my friend and I feel bad for what I did too.

 

In short, I agree with what I understood of your rant. People need to grow up.

Yea I was kind of rambling. But while it did happen to my friend earlier, which kinda brought this back to my attention, it happens to me often. Someone will be like "yea lets duo med etc" and so I'm sitting at Daemonheim waiting, and waiting. Then they say something like "wow my cat needs to go on a walk gtg" like... What?

Well, if i run off on a large dungeon, and my mum barrels in through the door at an annoyingly unexpected time and rants at me to wash the dishes or something equally as annoying, you cant blame me if im afk for a while.

Plan ahead, thats what I do. I'm currently residing at my parents house while I go to college, as the dorm is too expensive, and we luckily live very very close. So they make me do chores >.> When I'm about to go dks I say brb about 20 mins in advance, ask what chores need to be done, and I do them. Then I grab a water bottle, lock the door, turn up the music and say "bak L"

I rarely do anything with anyone in scape. Exceptions are dugneoneering which I just use 117 for and NOT my friendslist (faster teammaking = faster xp) and trading (LOL).

 

Stop relying on teams and everything becomes more efficient :thumbup:

 

PS: you can keep your friends added.

you can always still be there friend. and i think its better to use your friends becuase you know what there lvls are and there probably not gunna quit for some random reason without telling anyone and they have that specific level that no one else cant use even with using pots so then you have to restart.

Really? Lets not go down that route, I really don't need to start something so baseless.

Try a route outside friends such as clans and finding people on the forums. There you'll find people to actually do that rather than friends who may not. Don't expect your friends to do it either because they might not want to and might not want to say no because you may have pressured them into doing it.

Diddums, you're life must be so difficult.

 

1. If this has happened to you repeatedly then you can't be very good at picking friends.

2. Either that or the majority of scapers are asses.

3. Seeing as the 2nd point here is more likely I'd suggest joining a clan, from personal experience friendships formed in clans are much stronger and you can actually rely on these people.

4. If you join a clan it's more than likely that you can arrange an event at a time and date that suits you.

Ok somehow everyone thinks my friends do this. Not true, lmao. I meant clan members, and yes we both left the clan. But I'm talking about the rs community in general. 20Rice04, we don't like your kind around here. "my life must be so difficult" wha?

 

And don't tell me no one has ever experienced the person logging out 5 mins into a large dungeon? Yeah ok.

I actually never have had a member log out 5 mins into a 5:5 dungeon :o but I'm only like 74 so that's not that much.

I can understand and respect the outrage with the lack of committment, and i'm sure it has become a recurring thing with the same group of people. It is important to understand that life happens, and you might, and probably do, play with a higher calibur player and expect more from them, but we all have those extraordinary events occur where we must leave. In personal experience, parents aren't the most understanding that i'm leaving another player out to dry when i leave...

 

but oh well, 99% of people in this game can't dress themselves.

Anyways, yea, tbh it happens to my friends more than me, as I'm a solo player more often than not, however its still happens to more far too often.

As a frequent MH'er I get this a lot and it does annoy the hell outta me at times. I find it happens more with people you don't know as well, because to them your just some random. Thats why I've decided only to go with people I know I can rely on and good friends.

I hate it when people leave although I do have some understanding. As long as they give enough notice to get another player I don't have a problem with it. On one 7 unicorn trip me and a team mate sayed the entire time while the 3rd spot cycled through 4 different people.

What you have to appreciate is real people lead real lives, we can't all sit in front of the computer 24/7 and we don't all want to. When people do this to you man up and find a solution to it. Ranting about someone having to do something with their real life is pretty sad imo, shows a complete lack of respect for them.
