Most Influential Change to your Clan

Amateurnoob

Recommended Posts

In an effort to save CD Team Dan is brainstorming to bring you discussion worthy topics. +1 to my challenge points.

So, my question to you all is what has been the most influential change on your clan, within your clan, for your clan?

~Whether it be a merge to help your clan such as the Ascension/Godz merge

~A leadership change that has made your clan thrive or has created tension between members.

~A war that has brought your clan into a slump.

~A rivalry that has made your clan flourish, or has thrown your clan into a terrible slump.

Whether it is good or bad please discuss what mass changes have occurred in your clan. There is no need for a format as it restricts you to answer the questions that I want to know, feel free to go beyond the typical format and expand into as much or little detail as possible.

I'll just do influential people since I don't really have any events that happened. Nice thread though ;)

Downfall- The most influential change is Amateurnoob himself. He's a great guy and regardless of if his clan is slumping or doing great he always pushes people and makes them smile, keeping spirits up. Nothing really to say other than him.

Illusion- GreatJackal. He was great in Illusion and was really the speechgiver, really looked up to him.

Legacy- Unfortunately no one/nothing stood out. Our matched opts war vs T0 was memorable and influential to the clan, as it closed us!

Resilience- Dandaman shone.

Downfall x2 (since I've rejoined)- Awaiting someone other than Amateurnoob. He's a bigger rager than I remember.

I have lived my life to the best of my ability, but I have not been able to escape fate, anger, or pain.

Bring me the answers, and the road that leads to truth, reveal to me once and for all, how all of this will end.

Shadows cannot exist without the light. But without the shadows, the light has no meaning.

Downfall just reorganized their forums, although it's not a paid for site (Which I wanted >.>) I'm very pleased with the fast reaction of the staff working with their members to better the clan. This isn't the most influential thing for Downfall but I can't think of one for Downfall seeing as I just joined xD, but I do think forum activity will rise and more guests will enjoy the changes and overall forum activity/community will be good which is great for any type of clan.

In Legacy, promoting Kyak to Leader was probably the biggest and most influential change for them. She brought hardwork and listening to the members for the most part, until the end when stuff started falling apart and having her as Leader kinda put them into a situation where they would close because she called most the shots and got a lil moody but at the same time they relied a lot on her.

The great improvement on organization, be more respectful and step up out of our level has been the most influential thing so far.

Bad thing will be the constant drama but hey! every clan has at-least a bit of it

A good thing that has been influential for my clan would have to be when we took #1 spot on twr. It might be a joke now, but before we tried really hard to get that number one spot. It made all of our members ecstatic when we go it. Another thing that has been very good towards Downfall is the Dv rivalry, seeing as we pulled our best pull percent against them ( I am pretty sure). Also when Thehitman324 got warlord, from being declined for council, to being leader, to warlord. :)

A bad thing that has been bad towards my clan is when Uffan5 quit. A couple people quit when he did ( but most returned) and no one really knew what would happen to us after that. Another bad thing would have to be is when there was a big fight about making irc mandatory. Not many people wanted to make it mandatory, and people were thinking about quitting because of it.

There have been too many. Off the top of my head: RSC -> RS2, Joining The Alliance, BK leaving The Alliance, Joe/Jerico returning and leading several years ago, beating DS etc. There have been plenty of monumental points in our history.

In my 1 year in CR there have been a handful of influential changes and events. I would say our rivalry with Exo was the most influential to our clan. Our members did anything they could to be at those fights and we pulled over 200 opts easily everytime we had a fight against Exo because we took so much pride in beating them. Next to that i would have to say our stable leadership has been very influential to the clans' success. We've pretty much had the same group of officials for the past year give or take a few retiring/quitting/coming back. Recently Scottien and Abby have decided to move on but we've had people step back up and take on roles they used to have. Overall they keep the clan together and very stable. We probably aren't where we would like to be finishing off the summer, but still solidified in the top 10 after how core members have decided to retire and/or move on is also very encouraging.

Hmmm I have only been in THE/TF for about 3 years. Most influential events/decisions that stick out in my head.

The removal of the wilderness shortly after my arrival to TF devastated the ml's of both THE and TF. With that also came the merge/closure of TF into THE.

The fall from the top 5 around the time of this. Losing to adelais allowing them to leapfrog the ranks.... and then convincing leadership to withdraw from RAW list so that other clans cant do the same. This I believe was one of the most respectful things I think we did at the current time I was there. We put our pride aside and did the right thing for the "integrity" of the RAW list at least how we saw it. This was the beginning of the severe slump that THE faced at one time reaching only 40 members from what used to be around a 200 ml.

The rise of THE into the top 10 about a year and a half ago was big for me. This taught me the real stresses of rising and falling from the very beginning as I was not immensely invested in the clan as I had been in the previous slump. It gave me the experience of what it was like to be up there and what good and bad can come from it. This time soon after our plummet down into the top 20-30 again was what solidified me probably never leaving THE.

I have learned what it is like to be attracted to the bigger picture and where a clan can be even if it isnt perfectly what you want. Its more about knowing your clanmates are there for you and at the end of the day things are going to work out. It was the acceptance that this clan is more like a family. People care a great deal about THE. Sometimes you may not get along with your family but you are still family. It also helps to know that for some reason no matter what happens..... THE will be there. That is a comfort that is insane to have and helps with the support of so many people.

Decided to go on a more personal level simply because THE has far too much history.

Can't really think of that many in any of my clans when i was part of them, I guess in Nemesis promoting jaybird to leader we pked a lot more. Dunno when 100fightmage took over AG our rivarly with DI strengthened, and DS probably either the huge war with di both of us pulled 170 people + and none of us wanted to lose but DS gained the upper hand and finished off DI, was a great war and incredibly fun. Also probably Ds war with NI, DS leaders were going to retire soon but that was the nail in the hammer, many dont know the reason why DS closed but it was because of NI war + franzk and kid defense retiring.

Edit: didn't read the topic fully

Condemned Army was born because of a rivalry with another clan. So yes, that was influential for us and the cause of our existance.

Now that this issue has been overcomed, I think that every good result in a war is more or less influential (depending on the importance of the fight) for us. Having a good perfomance allows us to become recogniced and brings us new members.

The other change that had influenced on us is that, althought CA was never thought to be a latin clan, at the begining we were only latin members, but when some of my gringo friends (<3:) joined CA we kept adding more and more people from other countries and who speaks different lenguages. Nowadays I can say that CA is a pluri-cultural clan, which makes it more interesting and fun. :)

Legendz: Joining TWR; made us way more organised fighting better clans, myself becoming Leader; promoted the right people rather than people who'd been in the clan the longest which in the long run benefited the clan, Infinitone; whenever he'd be on we'd have so much more buzz and hype in a war, Tyler; joined the clan and due to his connections with Infinitone and claiming to be an ex-CR PK Leader got automatic Warlord (which was taken from a very good Warlord) which I and a lot of the staff disagreed with - and which sparked as the catalyst in me leaving and a lot of people leaving (they didn't like him). And of course myself leaving; led to my friends sticking behind me and agreeing with my decisions, and joined T0 (was about 25 or so of them).

True Ownage: We haven't really undergone drastic changes as of yet, but in my opinion I'd say: Downie Owners; forming an alliance with a superb clan like Downfall has taught us many things and continues to till this day - first aspects of clan pking within T0 came from D0 PK trips, First Ranks Given out; when we first opened we decided to only have 2 Leaders, a Co-Leader, a Warlord and some Council members - but after we gave the right people some more responsibility the clan flourished, Rivalry with DV; gave us fire and determination to be better than them - a lot of us from Legendz knew them as they merged into Legendz but reformed trying to recruit our members, Promotions again; except for our slightly cursed Warlord position we have had stable ranks for a long time now which has benefited us in so many ways.

We've got a large future ahead of us and changes are imminent really, so it'll be funny looking at this topic in a year time and seeing how far we've come (yet again).

Most recently, The Battle of Turning Tides, WG vs DB p2p PVP full out. We really pulled ourselves up by the bootstraps and showed we're still a force in p2p. In the last year or so, I remember our raids with BTO and the rivalry with Distortion. Before the full out war vs BoS after the alliance was ended pulled us out of another slump. Farther back I can't really remember a significant event that really changed the clan.

Our biggest and only real rivalry was with DownFall. And we dominated.

I am certain that this rivalry helped us thrive. We achieved most active award

and #1 rank on Twr in 2009 after beating DF down to #2. It came to a point

where DF just couldn't compete with Tk and chose to stop warring them.

Not trying to reignite an old rivlary but you did bring multiclanners to almost every fight, and your leader was a warlord of DK. Downfall maintained members that were solely their own :s
