This thread has made me realize I don't actually like post hardcore. Because about 80% of the songs posted here have been terrible. No offence to anyone. Ruerin's were good, but I expected that.

I'm bad at genera's but I think this stuff has at least post hardcore elements, probably with some metalcore mixed in.

[bleep] the law, they can eat my dick that's word to Pimp

I've never been able to get into any post-hardcore bands, they're just not my type of metal. It does annoy me however when the "scene" kids at my school listen to post-hardcore and classify it and all metal as "screamo".

I approve of this thread.

Also, [bleep] YEAH LA DISPUTE.

Seriously. Very glad someone mentioned them. Fantastic and very talented band, and incredible lyrics. Definitely closer in style to the early post-hardcore bands for those who like that.

One of my favourites by them:

I still cringe when I hear Escape the Fate being called post-hardcore. But I'm not really sure what else to call them. as for your links...

1. post-hardcore

2. screamo [according to the screamo thread]

3. metalcore

4. progressive/mathcore [i do love Fall of Troy, but I wouldn't consider them post-hardcore]

I think maybe ETF, are more metalcore, rather than Post-hardcore, but they are still post-hardcore by most peoples judgement.

Eeeh. I tend to post stuff that most of this forum would probably hate, and thus get someone going nuts about me being "indie" or something like that. Yours are also good bands and it's nice to see them posted. I dislike how "post-hardcore" and "metalcore" have pretty much become synonymous with boy-band haircuts, overwrought lyrics and pop-punk riffs with a bit of screaming thrown in. Post-hardcore is like, a completely different genre to that. Metalcore too. It doesn't mean the music is necessarily bad or such, but this labellling of bands that clearly don't belong in the genre needs to stop. Hopefully soon.

You'd probably enjoy Ling if you like TFoT and ATDI. It's like a crazy Japanese mix between the two, they have some real raw s**t as well. Lots of overdrive and crazy falsetto wailing.

Yes. Ling is awesome.

we have those at my school too :wall:

I really don't like Craig's voice (ETF) and for this reason, I think old ETF is better.

I'm just posting post-hardcore bands that pop-up on my MP3 player that day at this point. But they wouldn't be on there if I didn't love them:

Posted this in OT, but meh, it could go here too.

I went to a show post-harcore show last night. But it was a friend's birthday party, and it wasn't half bad. It was 7 post-hardcore bands which Im not too big on, but it was fun regardless. I felt like the only person dressed normally (meaning not girl jeans and dyed hair). Only bands I heard the names of were Create Avoid and A Shipwreck, A Castaway. During the ASAC set, in a circle pit there was something on the floor because the bassist from Create Avoid slipped and slammed into the floor, he ended up shattering his kneecap or something to that extent and just crawled out of the pit, like booked it on his hands, the show essentially ended right there.
