Phil
Why do they have the teams picked 6 months before. Teams could be hiring hitmen to take out the best players, 6 months in advance. They should just draw 2 days before, so they have to be ready for anything. Yeah this isn't really like ice hockey, players don't intentionally go into challanges trying to do as much damage as possible. If they did then they would realise they would probably get banned for a few years.

1_man_army
My money is on Argentina for thew world cup, I think Messi & Riquelme are gonna rune the show for them. I even put a ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã10 bet on them at 7/1 so they better! :D My other prediction is Big Marvin Andrews AND Henrik Larsson scoring against England in the group stages. They're both already heroes in Scotland and if they put England out they'll almost be considered god-like :P jk He who learns must suffer, and, even in our sleep, pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God. - Aeschylus (525 BC - 456 BC)

For example, near the end of the season of hockey, some person could win there last two games and jump up about 3 ranks (maybe) so the first place team really has no clue who there playing. Blake16
Yeah there's a lot to prepare for in football. The world cup is the biggest competition in the world. Theres is a hell of a lot of conditoning for football (soccer), read up on how much they run in one game. Plus who your palying and their style and tactics. Also the teams aren't together all the time like in here in America (Im English). The world cup is every four years and their with their clubs. Such as David Beckham in the Spanish Premiere league for CF Real Madrid. They got to practice together and get to working as team where the can almost read each others mind out on the pitch. Plus 6 months gives plenty of time for the Riots. And If you lose the blame doesnt go on a team but usually on one person. Such as David Beckham in 1998 The whole country hated him after the world cup because he was tripped during halftime and fought back earning himself a red card. He was ridiculed and had death threats and all kinds of stuff. So there is a TON of pressure. Yeah you have to really be into football to understand it tho Now what teams are yall going for ENGLAND - hopefully they can retain their world cup glory I've already ordered tracksuit and jersey from EuroSport (soccer.com) Also a question for those who know- Beckham is England captain again right? Angelic
Seems like an esay group for England, apart from Sweden perhaps. No doubt we'll go out to the first half-decent team we face though. Lol, unfortunately thats too true  Especially since all my soccer team supports France  Live in Canada btw, Moved here 5 years ago. GO ENGLAND! Awesome looking ball for the cup as well :D
R33c3
Only Holland/Argentinia and Brazil got a tough poule. The rest of the 'good' teams have a not so hard poule I don't see how Brazil is in a tough group. From their perspective, its an easy pool compared to Group E or Group C

Scooby_Doo
I'm not ruling out Australia for advancing into the next round. I believe their first match is Japan? If we can snatch the win from them, we'll have a fairly good chance. Look at what Guus did with the Aussies when he only had what, like 3 months max with them? Sure it's fairly unlikely but they're gonna give it a fair shot. If Aussies go out, I can always cheer for Brazil :P

____
Funnily enough last time Australia played Brazil, Australia won.Aye. I don't know how Australia will go. But I'm backing either a Brazil vs Italy final or Brazil vs Germany final. I'd be very suprised if Australia can leave the first round with a 2:1 result :\

Toad
I'm from england i'm worried, i mean group stages no problem sweden so what we have rooney are new secret weapon muahaha (not secret) and a better squad and in germany a better climate than korea that was hard to breath in, so yeah... after facing kinda easy teams the pace of the game england wont adjust to if people like brazil face them so england once more DOOMED :(
