desert strykeyrm

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a desert strykewyrm task and am wondering: what should I wield?

Just standard slayer outfit (whip, excalibur, slayer helmet, soul wars cape, glory, proselyte top, veracs bottom, dragon boots).. Or something different (to handle the heat?)

I'm allround 90 combat stats btw.

First they came to fishing

and I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing

Then they came to the yews

and I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews

Then they came for the ores

and I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores

Then they came for me

and there was no one left to speak out for me.

The heat can do heavy damage so deffo good idea to take a few waterskins and/or enchanted water tiara.

The tiara is a spacesaving option but it does mean sacrificing slayerhelm.

Beyond that I don;t really know much about the desert wyrms

you dont need to pray on them, use standard defence gear and a bunyip and you will need no food. some people swap slayer helm for enchanted water tiara but imo its not worth it, you only need a few waterskins and it's pretty close to the bank.

Take 1 or 2 emergency foods just incase you get whacked by their 300hp special

I usually bring my usuall melee gear (bandos+dfs), 10 water skins, knife (there are some cactuses in the area) and a bunyip.

it works ok for me.

prayer gear isn't for protection prayers, it's for ultimate strength..

Shouldn't you use piety instead of ultimate str? o.O

Last time I went there, I just wore my standard slayer gear and healed with uni when necessary. Didn't bother with waterskins. They drop them sooner or later and that worked well for me. If your really worried, just bring a few waterskins and a knife for the cactus there.

Buying spins make you a bad person...don't do it. It's like buying nukes for North Korea.

Well if it bothers you that the game is more fun now, then you can go cry in a corner. :shame:

your article was the equivalent of a circumcized porcupine

The only thing wrong with it is the lack of a percentage for when you need to stroke it.

I take 2 waterskins and go on lunars for humidify

I usually bring 2 waterskins and a unicorn. They drop 2 waterskins at a time every now and then, and the Uni should heal the rest, or just don't bother with waterskins and the Uni will heal that too. I actually bring EE too, but that's just because I don't pay attention and end up getting decked for 300 damage all the time by their underground attack. All your other gear is fine.

Your setup is fine, just bring waterskins. The wyrms will drop some on occasion as well (groups of 4)

This is what i wear:

FSH

Glory

Guthan's Plate

Desert Robe bottoms

Dester boots

Barrows Gloves

Whip

Rune def

slay ring

defense cape(t)

i can normally do a whole task in 1 go depending on whether my invo gets full which forces me to bank :P normally 4 or so waterskins work perfectly for me and the occasional waterskin drop also helps

dont bother with any desert clothing. just bring 2 waterskins and a knife, cutting cactus and waterskin drops will cover you.

A healing familiar will outclass all the water sources. Alternatively, they drop waterskins, which you can use a few to lessen the damage taken (not like desert strykewyrms do a lot of damage if you're alert).

I personally wear an enchanted water tiara to neutralize the desert effect. But you might not want to do this if you don't want to sacrifice the slayer helm. So some people also bring 2 waterskins and humidify runes to keep refilling them.

What planet do you live on?

In full armour bunyip doesn't come remotely close to covering desert heat damage and the only other healing familiar people use its unicorn and though that could keep up what an epic waste of scrolls it would be.

I take about 4, and a knife just case I need to top up. They drop 2 fairly often, so you can just cycle through them. Also, Shanty Pass is like a minute away, so you can buy more if you need. They really don't hit hard at all, it's only the special you need to look out for.

I'm halfway through a task now, bunyip, EE and dropped waterskins are more than plenty to ensure I keep at full health.

I just bring a bunyip, end up SSing maybe 3 times total on an 120~ wyrm task.

Bunyip+EE can keep most people up, and the wyrms themselves frequently drop waterskins.

I would strongly suggest not using an enchanted tiara.

Cannon and unicorn for me :shades:

Reacting impulsively and saying what's on your mind feels oh so good.. for a little, until you realize you just started WWIII.
