And, come to think of it, the smugglers may not actually have my tech. I installed a plasma charge in the designs of the Scout drones so that anyone who tries to tinker with the inside goes kaplooey in plasma, so that may have destroyed everything. I dunno.

Okay, for transactions involving 20kt or less, then the general rule of thumb is kT x 1200 = Energy Credits. If the transaction is bigger, then the cost is greater, unless it is cleared far beforehand (so I can account for it in our financial planning). Also, there is no way to circumvent this with little transactions, because we'll know about it (unless you're trying to withdraw over several sessions, which is also kinda pointless, because you could just clear it with us and we can plan for it).

 

Any money will be paid to the ship fund, which we will use for upgrades. (It also helps figure out how much material is needed by the crew)

 

 

In order to facilitate this, the cargo bay resources are locked down in general except to commanding officers. (So the only withdrawals that can be made are the ones with "negligible" withdrawal cost). Once per session, you can make an exchange based on the general rule of thumb for a number of materials under 10 kt without the express permission of a commanding officer. This is so that in the rare event that Jeremiah, Nero, and I are not on, you can still build robots or something.

 

Of course, you could also donate to the ship fund in advance and we will record that, so you can use that as credit for resources. Just post on this thread so Arch knows, and we can make a tally.

 

This is just to help streamline production of whatever you need to build, so that we can still get ship upgrades with the money put in the fund. All good everyone?

Bear in mind this is only in place while we're low on resources. You can expect to see an increase in these numbers as we gain more room to invest.

Righto, we have a small issue with the fact that we have run out of bays on the Kirby and the Unity, meaning we can't put shielding and cloaking on either of them. I am currently trying to figure out how to gain more bays without upgrading our hulls (which would take a long time).

So, is anyone else interested in my Blitz array? It has different ammo shapes for different uses, can punch straight through a tank, electrocutes enemies, and can shortcircuit electrical systems. :thumbsup:

 

Also, Archi, is there any way to adhere something to shielding?

 

And Ross, what sort of shielding does the EDGE use anyways?

It's still experimental, I don't think I'm happy revealing it yet on the grounds that it may destroy us all.

 

Also, the blitz array seems kind of wasteful. Didn't you get it down to something like 2kT per shot?

Nope, 10 credits per shot without using some sort of recovery system and assuming the wire or shot is damaged in some way. I found that if you use point-rim ammo and set them to withdraw immediately after impact or being electrified you can decrease the number lost. It has a heavy weapons version, capable of killing several hundred people in a single barrage, and a personal version, with similar power but fewer shots per barrage.

And how much do these things cost to make, how heavy are they, and how many shots can be fired without being recharged?

 

Instantly lethal voltage and current isn't exactly low, and if you have to carry around a backpack to use it, I don't see it being viable.

Adhere something to shielding? You can, but it would drain shielding pretty fast.

12kt for the more-expensive original prototype. Heavy ones are carried at 0.5 mps, light ones at about normal speed I believe. There is no limit on shots, except the 200 in a heavy barrage and 20 in a light barrage, which can be withdrawn.

 

It's all contained in a metal one-arm sleeve. Research makes it cheaper. It's only detriment thus far is lack of viability as a marksman weapon.

 

EDIT: Archi, that would be the point. I want to make suction-cup shield drainer rounds for the Blitz array.

Nex, here's a detriment, the fact that it can't be built easily, it's SLOW, and if it's your only weapon you'll be [bleep]ed if someone wears rubber. And the fact that the wires can be broken, which mans a good sniper can shoot ther wires while the shots are out.
