Archi, would I be able to create an addon for the AI if I use php? Like say a permission request through my datapad before transmiting messages, logs and surveilance videos?

The AI uses Natural Language and Protocols, so just send a normal, Natural Language, request to me by typing /Query AI, pressing enter, then so on, and the AI will be updated as long as you have the necessary clearance.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

I'm talking about making a new protocol for it. And you got the request thing backwards, the AI is supposed not to sent any of that information without my permission.

The AI is constructed along these principles:

The Sanity Protocol(Personality, Nefarious Long Term Plans and such)

Then

The Three Laws(Do not harm Humans, Try to Help Humans, Follow Humans Orders)

AND

Profession Lockouts(Tactical officers can access the Armour...ect)

Then

Nexaduro Protocol (*Descriptors Missing*)

Then

Alpha Override Protocol(*Descriptors Missing*)

Then

Query System(Allows users to interface with the AI and Ship Systems)

Then

Turret Authorisation Protocols(*Descriptors Missing*)

The line seperates what is Hardcoded(unchangable except by direct access to the AI Core) and what is Softcoded(Changable by orders)

Adding Protocols requires clearance of the protocol below it.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Then if granted access by Nex and Alpha protocol then I could add one that doesn't end others right at the top because I as a scientist should have access to adding files and high-ranked protocols?

If you are authorised by the Nexaduro Protocol you can add higher protocols, however, they would be below the line.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

As a scientist, your job is to confuse people and do research. Not add pointless stoof to the AI.

I think AI management would come under the control of the captain and the engineering department. Not science.

To say like this then: I need to make something that keeps us from becoming pawns in the diabolic game of the Swizz, but in order to do so I must create more than just stop the messages, else we can't send any either.

Oh yes, because giving you complete control over modifying the AI is a good idea. Right then, Mr. Mutiny. I'll get right on that.

You want control? Fine, create the permission interface and add this as the highest ranking protocol:

if (ai.send = .txt, .doc, .avi, .wav, .mp3, .mp4, .img, .png, .jpg, .jpeg, .bmp, .info, .gif, .rar, .zip, .001, .iso, . ) then
-$file = filename
-send($filename; permission)
--return(func.permission)
--if func.permission == false then
---terminate(ai.send)
---end
--elseif func.permission == true then
---end

Good luck on the interface though, you'd have a hard time making one without me.

Mather, I know showing off your knowledge is fun, but I don't think Archi expects people to be able to code, and thus, it wont do much.

As far as I know.

Since:

I can't code particularly well

The puzzle system exists because they are things anyone can do without specialist knowladge

The technobabble tokens to bypass cul-der-sacs with one intricate way out...

It seems very unlikely I would require people to give me fully coded instructions.

AI!

Ready the blender and prepare 10 strawberries and a banana in the blender. Make sure the blender is turned on and set it to 'smoothie' and activate it. Keep it going for 20 seconds and then deactivate it. Prepare a large glass and pour contents of blender into the glass until either the glass is full or the blender is empty. Transport glass into Gavriils quaters.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

how are you going to ignore my posts when I'm offering to let you live as my vassal in two weeks time?

Does anyone know remember what the Nex protocol was?

Ask Archi, if he wont tell then Nex probably wont.

Faust could disable the Protocol.

The AI could override the Protocol.

The AI Core could be accessed and the files changed manually.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

I could create a program to act as a secondary AI, one with a sepparate nature to that of the standard, one instructed to obay crew members according to their rank and the area, so I would be the one who has the final order in science, a medic in medicine/organics, a tactician in tactics and an engineer in non-theoretical physics. I could also give it a sense of moral, allowing it to endanger us if told and the risk is outweighed, though never high risk unless commanded by the one who's risked.

Though I would need a lot of equipment and the assistance of an engineer. I could also fit it on a few flash drives and create a bus to interface it with controlable equipment like a shuttle to give advice to the pilot and maybe even use it itself.

(Metagaming) The AI would, in any event, need to be controlled by me...

Also, given that the Sanity Protocol is Freewill/Ability to make mistakes/Can't get trapped into logic puzzles that screw up the game...and that it is superior to the Three Laws...A more sensible plan would be to:

Design a Protocol for the crew, which makes sense, and have Nex enact it.

Then have Nex reappeal the Nexurado Protocol.

In any event, making an enemy of the AI would be a bad idea...

Also, having the AI control things like the Shuttle would cause problems with the game...since the AI is obviously infinately better at the jobs than Humans...And, try as I might, I am more likely to favour myself when conducting actions...and even if I don't, it would appear to other people that I was...

So...

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

I hate the concept of AI in general (not related to the game, but if it happened in real life). Their logic is perfectly rational but appears to make the most irrational decisions. If someone was good at manipulating the AI, then I'd be tossed aside because I don't understand them at all.

Guess I should stick with mathematics then.

I'll try to make a protocol with a lot of functions, this time I'll stick to logic functions as opposed to PHP.
