Semi-Afk Skills

While I play RS I tend to study. Studying takes priority so I don't usually pay much attention to the game itself. On the weekends or during free time I do more attention intensive playing, However due to my heavy workload which I foresee continuing for the next two or three months, I won't be able to play much like that.

So I'm wondering what are some good skills I can train semi-afk paying minimal attention, with RS minimized.

I've gotten 99 WC and 99 cooking and am not looking to get 99 in melee skills as I want to slay for them and slayer isn't consistently low attention.

The options I've considered so far are:

99 fletching, would be pretty lame but would fill up the timespan nicely

Smithing, as high as I can go smelting gold with gaunts. I also predict a high level smithing update and it would be nice to be ahead of the curve for once.

99 Magic, would detract from my prayer goal but would be nice, how semi-afk is string jewelry.

Fishing, doubt I could get 99 in the time given.

Mining, would need to train a bit before I could use the LRC, how attention friendly is this?

Herblore, already have access to overloads plus is really too expensive to train with my current prayer goal.

Crafting, don't know anything about this skill really, am open to trying it. What is the cost and attention friiendliness?

If anyone has input from their own experiences, other ideas for skills I could train or specific information about any of the things I've mentioned please post.

PM me in game anytime

best is to train combat, but goldsmithing isn't too bad. any skill that involves 14 items per invent instead of 28 (eg crafting) takes too much attention

mining at LRC is ok too

Seeing as your looking for AFK, I'd go for fishing.

Squab unleashes Megiddo! Completed all quests and hard diaries. 75+ Skiller. (At one point.) 2000+ total. 99 Magic.

my difinition of noob is i dont like u, either u are better then me or u are worst them me

Buying spins make you a bad person...don't do it. It's like buying nukes for North Korea.

Well if it bothers you that the game is more fun now, then you can go cry in a corner. :shame:

your article was the equivalent of a circumcized porcupine

The only thing wrong with it is the lack of a percentage for when you need to stroke it.

Fletching: as you said, it would be pretty easy but also not very cool. Lol.

Smithing: Just doing gold w/gauntlets is not a bad idea, although if you wanted to wait til later when attention span isn't an issue, you could get much faster smith exp with other methods.

Magic: Not sure about this one, never tried string jewelery.

Fishing: I'd recommend this one. Easily one of the most afk skills (except maybe woodcutting with ivy). And you'll make a bit of profit as well. Monks/fly fishing/whatever you want until 85, then LRC the rest of the way.

Mining: Not entirely sure but I think it's not as afk-friendly as the others, since it involves a little more running around and attracting the attention of the rock creatures.

Herblore: Too costly, and since it's only 14 per inventory it's twice as much clicking.

Crafting: It's reasonably priced if you do battlestaves, but that's also 14 per inventory. On the other hand, you could craft dragonhides, but it'll get expensive fast.

My recommendation: Fishing.

If I do fletching then move on to either smithing, mining or fishing how long would it take to get 99 fletching?

Also is string jewelry afk friendly?

Combat: Black demons in chaos tunnels/taverly. Put on around +30 prayer worth of gear and afk train on them. You will get effigies, crimson charms & break even profit on prayer pots. Obviously tab in once a minute or so, collect drop piles and tab out again. They have enough health to not have to check too often and you can expect at least 60 crimsons an hour.

Fishing - make sure you do fish flingers (10 times) a week. You spend 5minutes running around, then 10minutes afk'ng with no interaction needed (other than not logging out ofc)

Smithing - gold bars in edge - Around 1minute per invent, gives you plenty of tab out time.

Magic - String Jewelery is 1 click per invent. So minimal interaction.

Farming - 4/5 Herb patches - gives you a 5minute break from your work and allows you to refocus - do this when you remember. Again minimal effort and gets you some gpz.

Mining - LRC Coal with pack yak & coal bag is pretty afk. However you'd need to do 5 levels of granite first which really isn't afk.

Fletching - Yew longs - 27 per invent, around 50 secs to cut all. Bank etc.

Mobilising Armies Requires the least interaction for the longest period. However needs around 1minute of action for every 4minutes of no action.

Can't be afk'd effectively/you've already done

Woodcut

Cooking

Crafting

Construction

Thieving

Hunter

Herblore

Runecrafting

Dungeoneering

Summoning

Agility

Recommendation - Do fish flingers(cc: fish fling1 - w77) in between Smelting gold bars or training combat at black demons. Do not actively fish yet as you still have a lot of other AFK things to do first & cavefish at 85 will make that a lot easier to afk. Combat & Pack Yak are most beneficial to your active playtime. there are plenty of things to do afk, but it's a matter of priorities.

Yes it is. This is how I've been training my magic recently while I do other things. Just keep the sound on so you can hear when the inventory is finished. If you get spurts where you can pay attention, you can combine String Jewelry with Hunter Kit to get more xp per hour.

MA isn't really fun (well mostly the controls SUCK and it's slow), but the rings are useful and it takes a fair amount of time but less than 99 fishing or something, so you can be sure to have an achievent pretty soon.
