Commin money making methods are green drags, fungus picking, farming herbs, doing daily runs, or frost drags if you ever bother to get 85 dungeoneering.

Errrr training slayer IS a money maker. It has made me well over 700m to this day and i am still not even 99 Slayer. Sure it takes a bit longer at first but once you start getting Abyssal Demons, Ice Wyrms, Mages and even Dark Beasts the money starts coming in at a stable rate. When i still played a lot i used to make between 3m and 4m a day doing nothing but Slayer.

If you're not one for Slayer though, then your only hope is grinding away at something like Green Dragons, Aviansies (not sure if they are as good as they used to be, but they brought in a good 800k - 1.1m an hour for me). Then there are always non combat skills like Runecrafting that can bring in a bit of money. Key is to always do herb runs and MTK. it brings in a bit too.

Lesser demon tasks at zamorak gwd, bank all dragon bones, take a very long time about it (no piety, ofc). 700m is easy :P.

No i didn't get a lot of Dagg tasks. I got one now and then and most of the time i didn't do it at DK's. I did however get lucky with Whips, Dragon Boots, Dark Bows, Sols, etc. Also the reason i make so much is bcausse i don't cannon, at all. Saves a lot of money.

That's fair, but in order to maximize your profit via slaying you would have to sacrifice your exp/hr in slayer. So although it can be a great moneymaker, it can also just barely be a break-even type depending upon how you do it. So it might help when suggesting slayer as a moneymaker to clarify how people are doing it; people can stride into training it all worked up & killing things as fast they can and suddenly run out of cash if they don't have a lot to work with. :P

I said that an average player earns around that much from 90-99 slayer. If you can't understand what an example is, no doubt you are arguing something this stupid.

 

The bank never lies? what kind of proof is that? i have 5b in my bank, so i can say that woodcutting is a great way of making cash. Prove me wrong.

 

Also, as proof you are VERY likely making things up, if you camp abyssal demons for equivalent of 99 slayer(13,034m xp) you make 688m from whip drops, assuming a whip is 4m(an overestimate). There are only two(three if you do daggs at DK's) that can make as much money as abyssal in the whole of slayer.

Well, this might be due to the fact that i forgot to mention that i got 4 SOL's when the street was ~100m :/. Also just when the Ranging Amulet came out i sold one for ~150m. Yes, that makes it stupid to say that i have made ~700m with my Slaying but it does however make it the truth. In any case i still maintaing my opinion that Slayer is a great money maker as i still manage a good 3m a day on avg. This all depends on the tasks though. Some people like me are lucky enough to get 4 Abyssal task out of 10 and getting at least 1 whip per task. Also i forgot to mention that on some lesser demon tasks i would do Zammy Gwd. It still falls under Slayer.

You just need to be willing to spend a bit more time doing a skill to gain a greater wealth.

Errm, it's worthless to bring such instances into an example. I, for example, made around 300m camping for whips when cash was worth loads more(blue hat was 30m), but it's useless for giving example of a good moneymaker as the time only moves in one direction.

 

If bringing examples, it's worthless to talk about anything but averages. Slayer isn't a good moneymaker on the basis that camping one particular monster is always better.

The example tells us that slayer has been and/or was a good moneymaker, but nothing much about the state of it nowadays. 99 slayer is usually a large enough sample size to give good averages, and we know the exact whip droprate(and have good data for other valuable drops apart from visages, which range around 20m slayer xp per).

 

Overall, slayer is a deacent moneymaker, but certainly not a good one when it's never the best. If you want money, camping is always better.

Er, no. Luck is based off probabilities, so over time it will/should average out to the same number. The key is simply taking a large enough sample size.

No doubt camping is better, always will be. But how many people can stand killing 5k Green Dragons or much less 1k? Sure telling someone to camp somewhere might be good for now, but in a few days when the OP gets bored of camping wherever he decides to camp we'll just have to suggest another spot, till he gets bored again.
