Dungeoneering

SORRY I'M NOT 130 COMBAT, so you're going to wait 5 more minutes for someone who is?

I am so very tired of people saying 130+ dungeons, WHEN THEY ARE 70 SOMETHING DUNGEONEERING.

It's a waste of my time to use w117, and w148 is getting the same way.

EXAMPLE:

I do a floor, with a lv 138 LEECHING MORON, and i finally convince him to let me key, and WHOA NO WAY we fly through the dungeon, and right as we enter the boss, some odd hour and something later HE KICKS ME, SAYING I WAS RUDE TO HIM.

I AM BEYOND TIRED OF DUNGEONEERING REQUIRING 5 PEOPLE TO GET DECENT EXPERIENCE.

I can't tell you how nice it is to be on a team of people with much higher dungeoneering, same or better combat, and i still key faster than anyone, aside form a friend whose 2 levels from maxxed total, but that's understandable.

SO TELL ME, WHERE CAN I FIND SOME NON-MORONS, who don't have a belief that 130 combat is the end-all to dungeoneering? because it's like every time i go onto w148, i just want to beat my head against a wall.

Sounds like somebody got what they deserved.

You know, somebody once told me that I moved to slow.

So when we got a mime room, I did them a favor and quit.

Doubt they were able to finish the dungeon.

130+ requirement is indeed very weak.

Once, I was recruited into a team. The leader was fine, but the other three was like "wow why did you accept a 125" throughout most of the dungeon. Needless to say, I quit at a mime and [bleep]ed them over. I did pm the leader saying I was sorry lol.

k i'm sorry

it was totally unfair and rude of people to want people with higher stats and reject you

Although it's not entirely true, higher combat generally means a higher total level; and therefore better skills to open doors with and such. Just don't party with those people, or party with some friends and join a dunge clan.

I can totally understand that most of the time a 130 combat and higher skill total would be more valuable, but in most dungeons with randoms, they don't know how to key worth anything, which makes me much more valuable than someone who has a higher skill total and bigger ego.

THANKFULLY i am done with dunge for a little while, and should be in a better position when i go back for 99

but if i had a decent team, it'd be so much less stressful

Don't team with randoms end of story.

Get a bunch of friends or people that you know (the forumers here basically) and do med/large dgs together. Sure you won't always get 5 in a team but it beats randoms by far.

problem is, if i'm making a team of randoms, i can't judge players' ability to dungeoneer well at all unless i've dg'd with them before. so i would choose a player with higher total level and combat level over you.

i find dungeoneering level to be a stronger indicator (although still not perfect of course) of dungeoneering ability than either total level or combat level, however.

The second best keyer I ever played with (first was 120 dunge maxed out, so...) was actually level 120. Amazing keyer. I don't remember what her name was in the slightest, but if I met her again I would not hesitate to join her team or invite her.

Still, however, I find myself preferring teams that are 130+. The simple fact is that lower levels who are good at dungeoneering are more outliers than anything else. The typical crowd has no idea what they are doing. I was dg'ing with a level 125-ish person once and he sat at a key door for 15 minutes waiting for the keyer to open it, thinking that he had the correct key...

Of course, cases like that are outliers as well, but as it stands the bulk of people that levels lean more towards that side than the "pro" side.

Slightly off topic: does anyone know what happened to w138?

w138 was the old 3bo world which required 100+ dg

now it is w53

If there is one thing I can and will not stand for is just for dungeon rushing period. Anyone else have this kind of problem?

*raises hand*

I am one of those apparently rare people who wants a middle ground between maximum xp and a relaxing activity. I don't want to discover every nook of the dungeon at all and I prefer to hit a decent xp/hour, but I really don't feel good about being pressured into rushing either. I'd just like a few team mates who can be nice, cooperative and efficient of the non-crazy variety. I get so scared off by the DG worlds that all my xp currently comes from soloing and penguins/lamps/tears. It will soon be my last unmaxed skill, and I'm seriously considering just dumping DG forever and never truly maxing out. I'd even get 99 rc again, my most hated skill, instead of working on DG, while I genuinely feel it's an enjoyable game.

Honestly, a majority of my 78 dungeoneering came from solo dunging and teaming with friends for lols. I do care about efficiency to a degree, but I also hate stressing myself out by rushing dungeons constantly. Not only that, but I have one issue that would make me a fail partner in any dungeon.

Dialup internet. I may have (what I consider to be) high stats, 135 combat, etc etc. But dialup basically screws me over for finding even semi perm teams to dungeon with, unless by some miracle I find 4 people who are nice enough to let me tag along :P

That being said, I enjoy dungeoneering as a skill, although I'm relatively slow at it. If I applied myself I could easily get higher xp/hr even soloing, but I just don't care enough to do so. Rather do it at my own pace.

Also, I'd rather get 120 dungeoneering twice than get 99 rc once. I freaking hate runecrafting.

(mild exaggeration, but you get the idea)
