Dire_Wolf
I've experienced some lagg and i have heard from friends and strangers that they have experienced lagg. Could this be because of bots?
Crossed_Body
Yes. Bots are also causing global warming, the spreading of the HIV, and the BP oil leak.

Quyneax
I think he means more accounts playing = more lag. Which might be true, for part of the lag (server-side), but some of the lag is just from the connection. So unless a huge percentage of all accounts is in fact a bot, I doubt it'd matter terribly much. Assume Nothing
Can't find the discussion value here. Unless a large proportion of the player base are botters, the answer is no.
Blyaunte
Well -- considering the vast majority of the time that I encounter lag is in high traffic areas with lots of on-going conversation (like the G.E.), I'd day that it is unlikely that bots are the cause of "lag". That said, I have experienced an unusual amount of disconnections of late. I am wondering if Jagex is doing some "tinkering" in the background, in preparation for Feb 1?
Ts_Stormrage
I can't see the link.Wouldn't Runescape lagg more if more players were logged into game and using the servers? Yes... Especially considering bots tend to send much more "clicks" over the net than regular players who tend to get distracted more often :) I think he means more accounts playing = more lag. anonymouse_
Yes 100% sure it's the bots
Blyaunte
Yes 100% sure it's the bots Judging by your pic, you must not be biased at all! but in all seriousness, legit players cause more lag then bots. talking clicking hovering over xp, clicking clan chat, inventory, etc. a bit more often then bots click for their next action ... especially "talking". Go to the GE on pretty much any world and leave your public chat turned on and it's "lag-o-rama" ... <_<
foursideking
Mmhmm...or go to any game of castle wars, and stand outside your castle doing emotes...you'll get like 5 people spamming you for not helping your team...
_YB_
This lagg is there since the summer...? its just JAGEX who try's to save some money thats why they bought cheap servers.
Myu
Yesterday, I was lagging so much that the logout button didn't respon for a minute in which period of time I could move, click and talk until it logged me out. Prior to yesterday, I hadn't lagged at all. When I'm playing normally, Fps is around 50 on max settings, when I walk into GE it drops to around 30 Fps. That's understandable, though. All_Is_Great
Why do people spell lag with 2 "g"s? I find it especially funny when some guy in a fight safes and says "lagg sry". And I'm just thinking, yah.... right....

swordb88
a bot shouldnt cause any more lag than a person playing, if not less! forms of communication in rs, text based chatting, takes memory. more memory used = more lag. but thats all at a minute level. LOL invite? PM me :)

PereGrin
When I lag, I usually say Me: lag (doesnt go through)Me: lagg (still doesnt work)Me: LAGG!!! (fail again)Me: OMFGWTF. I. Hate. Lag!!!!! (fail of epic proportions on restoring connection) Me: I just got Jagex'd #-o So I totally understand the misspellings lol And yes, Bots cause all lag because Al Gore invented the Internetz. It's that more people are playing now than any time since the 12/10 update, and Jagex's antiquated servers can't handle the increased loads. Been noticing more disconnections lately, or where it would lag and then suddenly boot you to the log-in screen? Yeah.
Low C
I've also noticed 200k+ people online constantly lately whereas a few months ago it stayed under 160-170k. I only lag though at the worst possible times, the rest of the time I experience no lag. Luckily spamming teleport tablets at DK's actually register during a lag spike and 20 seconds later you appear in your house with 100 lp.
